WR Deonte Harty, BUF (1 Viewer)

Ministry of Pain

Footballguy
I don't see a thread anywhere and this guy has had a lot of targets over the last 2 weeks and then you factor in Kamara is OUT Week 10, don't get fooled into Mark Ingram who is well past his prime, they play different positions but I can see a continuation or even an uptick in targets for this diminutive sized WR at 5'6" sorry but that is really short. And it had me thinking maybe he can be a hybrid this week with Kamara out and see the ball perhaps in the running game.

15 targets last 2 weeks and 1 rush for another 22 yds, production is not elite with 9/87 but I think he can get that in 1 game this week vs Tennessee, think the other WRs are all banged up pretty good to add some more mystery into his projections this week.

If there's already a thread going please point the way and Mods feel free to merge if need be.

Saints WR, Baltimore native Deonte Harris could face suspension after sentencing in drunken-driving case

New Orleans Saints wide receiver and Baltimore native Deonte Harris faces a possible NFL suspension after he was sentenced Monday to a year of supervised probation. The Archbishop Curley alumnus pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving under the influence that stemmed from a July traffic stop in Baltimore County, according to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Harris, also a standout returner, was in court in Towson on Monday for the sentencing, which came without a conviction. The plea entered on Harris’ behalf was not guilty with an agreed statement of facts, as described in Harris’ police report, according to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Harris was pulled over at around 1:30 a.m. on July 16 after swerving across three lanes of traffic and driving more than 20 mph over the speed limit on Interstate 695. A police officer wrote that Harris’ eyes were “bloodshot and glassy” and that Harris smelled of alcohol. After failing field sobriety tests, Harris took a breath test and registered a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

Harris’ probation term began Monday and runs through Nov. 8, 2022. His attorney, William H. “Billy” Murphy Jr., did not respond to request for comment.

Harris, who leads the Saints with 323 receiving yards this season, could face punishment under the terms of the NFL’s new collective bargaining agreement. A league spokesman told The Times-Picayune that Harris’ situation is still under review.

Deonte Harris caught 3-of-4 targets for 84 yards in the Saints' Week 10 loss to the Titans.

Harris has become the team's big play receiver threat over the past month, averaging 11.6 yards per target and 17 yards per catch. A favorite target of Jameis Winston's until the QB's season-ending knee injury, Harris has seen a target uptick in recent weeks with 19 looks over his past three outings. Harris remains a borderline option in deeper formats, though he'll hold considerable DFS intrigue in Week 11 against a porous Eagles secondary.

Deonte Harris caught 4-of-8 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against Dallas.

Harris got 70 of his yards on a slant and outran the entire Cowboys defense for a late fourth quarter touchdown. He led the Saints in targets in Taysom Hill's first start, though there's not much to chase here with Hill struggling as a passer. Lil'Jordan Humphrey was the Saints' second leading receiver and also scored on one of his two targets. Neither player needs to be added on waiver wires ahead of Week 14 against the Jets.

The NFL upheld Deonte Harris's three-game suspension for a DUI.

Harris appealed the suspension near the end of November. His appeal was unsuccessful and he will now miss the next three games. Harris will be eligible to return in Week 17. He has played a mix of special teams and wide receivers this year, often looking like the most explosive pass-catcher in New Orleans. As has been a common trend this year, the Saints are now down another skill position player. Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway will continue playing full-time roles though neither can be trusted for fantasy purposes.

I completely forgot about this over last Christmas... but you're gonna have to rename the thread @Ministry of Pain.

New Orleans Saints All-Pro returns specialist Deonte Harris gave his stepfather a great Christmas gift on Saturday, announcing from his official Instagram account that he has legally changed his name to Deonte Harty. A sergeant in the Baltimore Police Department, Marlon Harty has been in Deonte’s life since he was 7 years old. Now he’s making a permanent move to honor someone who’s had a profound impact on him.

It’s really cool to see Harty sharing this special moment with his family. He’s had a difficult year, struggling with deaths in the family and his battle with depression, and bottoming out in an offseason DUI charge. He’s serving the final week of an NFL suspension for that arrest now and will rejoin the Saints for their final two regular season games.

And Harty is determined to come out the other side of this stronger. Changing his surname to tighten those familial bonds and illustrate a new direction to take his life is commendable. Saints fans should keep an eye out for No. 11 in next week’s home game with the Carolina Panthers — and be sure to call him Harty from now on, not Harris.
It actually happened last year but the NFL doesn't do in-season name changes.

This story touches close to home, not sure if you would know why that is but something very similar happened in my life and I had no idea about this story, total accident I even launched this thread to start with.

Thanks You Frank

Saints signed Deonte Harty to a one-year, $4 million contract.

Harty was offered a second-round tender back in March. Unsurprisingly given it would have cost a second-round pick to sign him, an offer sheet never came. Harty showed promise as a down-field threat last year, but his path to targets is a little rockier after the Saints drafted Chris Olave in the first round.
