SEATTLE – Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson will return today against the Seahawks after missing two games with a right knee injury. Running back Kevin Smith will play after leaving the last game with a shoulder injury.
But defensive tackle Grady Jackson will be inactive. A Lions spokesman said it was the coaches’ decision. Jackson, a 36-year-old veteran who had off-season knee surgery, was listed as probable on the injury report Friday. The Lions signed defensive tackle Joe Cohen off the practice squad Saturday, and Landon Cohen will start in Jackson’s place.
Jon Jansen will be inactive after starting at left guard last week against St. Louis. Jansen, a veteran right tackle, had never played guard before. Manny Ramirez will return to the starting lineup, while Daniel Loper, who began the season as the starting left guard, will be inactive again.
Cornerback Jason David, whom the Lions signed this week to replace the injured Demarcus Faggins, also will be inactive along with safety Marvin White, fullback Jerome Felton (ankle) and linebacker Vinny Ciurciu. Drew Stanton will be the third quarterback.
