Seems like a good guy to take in the 4th as a special project
Not gonna be a contributor for awhile (if ever); great athlete but very unrefined
giving up three Day 2 picks for a guy who needs a lot of of development is hard to understand

I've learned not to doubt any reach by this Detroit regime. Expect this dude to become a stud.
I don’t think most of these mid round projects the lions have taken over the Holmes years ever seem to see the field.Seems like a good guy to take in the 4th as a special project

Was Matt Millen the GM this year? They traded the last pick of this years third round, plus TWO future third round picks for this kid. That alone will make me take a second look.
It had to be FOMO. It's a human tendency. Was Matt Millen the GM this year? They traded the last pick of this years third round, plus TWO future third round picks for this kid. That alone will make me take a second look.
Fair haha. And I know they don't have Ben Johnson there anymore. But Holmes has had some credit for the hits since 21, and I still think Dan Campbell doesn't get enough credit for anything except making some wild decisions on 4th down. Was Matt Millen the GM this year? They traded the last pick of this years third round, plus TWO future third round picks for this kid. This is not a new thing for Holmes. He's given up surplus value in draft picks to move up for a mid rd project he covets that'll likely fall anyway 3 years in a row. Results to this point haven't been good. Was Matt Millen the GM this year? They traded the last pick of this years third round, plus TWO future third round picks for this kid. Yeah and this isn't by any means the be all end all, but watching the draft "wow the Lions gave up all this for this guy let me look him up in my Lindys Draft guide" and he like is not even in the magazine. Not a great sign to me.Fair haha. And I know they don't have Ben Johnson there anymore. Not saying he's jumping into my top 24. But I basically ignored this guy completely outside deep rookie drafts as like a 6th round dart throw because I heard an analyst say his name once lol. Feels like I might have to put in a little more effort now.
Right there with you on not knowing who the guy was, quite a shock. That is a pick that really needs to pan out based on the move.Yeah and this isn't by any means the be all end all, but watching the draft "wow the Lions gave up all this for this guy let me look him up in my Lindys Draft guide" and he like is not even in the magazine. I'm trying to find out why I have his name on a sticky note (alongside guys like Oronde Gadsden, Andrew Armstrong, Elijah Badger, and Torrey Horton for context lol). I know someone had him tagged as a deep sleeper, just can't remember who anymore.Right there with you on not knowing who the guy was, quite a shock. No one in the history of Earth has found a TeSlaa that's worth the price paid. They traded the last pick of this years third round, plus TWO future third round picks for this kid. That alone will make me take a second look.

The #Lions traded 3 third-round picks to move up to No. 70 and select Arkansas WR Isaac TeSlaa, who was ranked No. 170 on the consensus board. If there’s one lesson I’ve learned over the years in the draft, it’s this: don’t doubt the Lions in the draft — which is why that aggressive move has me very intrigued about what TeSlaa could become in Detroit:

I like draft picks where the aggression a team shows in going to get the guy makes you go back and watch more of him.
I may have undervalued Isaac TeSlaa on first watch.

Some other observations from a light walkthrough
- Rookie OL Tate Ratledge was repping at center
- New RB coach Tashard Choice has alllll the juice
- WR Isaac TeSlaa looks pretty explosive
- Undrafted DL Keith Cooper Jr. had a notable presence
dynasty is a marathon, not a sprint.5.07 in a SuperFlex, why not? He's only 5th in the target pecking order.
His last name is TeSlaa, dude! What more do you want?Had 28 catches in 2024, 34 in 2023. That's it. That's the end of his college resume. I don't get it.
Nobody can get it just by stats alone.Had 28 catches in 2024, 34 in 2023. That's it. That's the end of his college resume. I don't get it.
well no kidding but I haven't even heard someone talk about what he does good. or bad. or anything. did he play injured? does arkansas only run 5 plays a game?Nobody can get it just by stats alone.Had 28 catches in 2024, 34 in 2023. That's it. That's the end of his college resume. I don't get it.
It's Arkansas not Arkansas State. From what I've read: TeSlaa is not good getting a release from press coverage, not refined as a route runner and had inconsistent QB play. He has a huge catch radius, good at contested catches and had zero drops. Elite athlete with elite explosiveness. 9.93 ras (relative athletic score), inside the top 1% among all WRs since 1987. Somewhat of a project with huge upside.well no kidding but I haven't even heard someone talk about what he does good. or bad. or anything. did he play injured? does arkansas state only run 5 plays a game?Nobody can get it just by stats alone.Had 28 catches in 2024, 34 in 2023. Probably an end of bench roster churner, but if you have a taxi squad you might as well stash and see. He certainly didn't cost much, if anything, to roster except a roster spot. It's Arkansas not Arkansas State. With his upside I'd be all over him in dynasty leagues. Just can't expect much this year.Probably an end of bench roster churner, but if you have a taxi squad you might as well stash and see. I don't know about being all over him, but I ended up with one share. St. Brown and Jamo are the only other wrs signed beyond this year, so imo 2026 is the earliest for him to see any major targets. So he has a year to get up to speed. With his upside I'd be all over him in dynasty leagues. Just can't expect much this year
@Lions
Welcome aboard @TeslaaIsaac
Busy man: The favorite target of Snyder in 7-on-7 and team drills Friday was third-round pick Isaac TeSlaa. He made a couple nice catches along the sideline and over the middle in both periods, and he was targeted with Snyder's first three passes in the 7-on-7 period. TeSlaa caught two and Shelley made a nice play, knocking one away.
Two things stand out about TeSlaa after my first impression of seeing him live: His size and his hands. He's got a big frame (6-4, 214), and I didn't see him try to catch the ball with his body one time. It's always hands away from body.
Yes I know people are trusting the Lions and in some regard, I get that. Amon Ra was a late round pick and has become one the cornerstones for dynasty football. Sam LaPorta defied all conventional wisdom about the development curve for rookie TEs. They took David Montgomery and Jamal Williams, who looked like their fantasy careers were waning, and got the best seasons of their careers. People laughed at them for taking Gibbs so high and he led the league in TDs last season. Even Jamo who looked like he was doing everything in his power to become a bust has become the league's premier big play threat. That said, each year the Lions have made a surprising reach. Vaki, DT Brodric Martin, LT Manu from Canada and now Teslaa. All were kind of head scratching picks that had people saying, "whio??". None of them have done anything yet other than Vaki on special teams. Maybe Teslaa is the project that works out but I think he is being overdrafted right now.Reminded me of last year when they took Sione Vaki in the 4th round and then announced he is no longer a DB but a RB. Teams actually drafted him in rookie drafts because of his landing spot. This year, Lions gave up two additional 3rds to move up in the 3rd for someone with almost zero college production. Just an odd move IMO but we will see I guess.
I don’t know how he’s being overdrafted because he’s going mostly in the 4 th round of rookie drafts, or not at all.Yes I know people are trusting the Lions and in some regard, I get that. I’ve only done 2 dynasty drafts and he went mid round 3 in both. So maybe that’s just a weird coincidence.I don’t know how he’s being overdrafted because he’s going mostly in the 4 th round of rookie drafts, or not at all.Yes I know people are trusting the Lions and in some regard, I get that. Up to now Brodrick Martin is a bust. He has one last chance this year but I'm not confident. I never liked that pick because I just never saw the upside. In fairness, Giovanni Manu was never expected to play last year and might not play much if at all this year. I thought it was early but his size and athletic ability are off the charts, which is a common theme for Holmes for a lot of his draft picks. I love his upside, especially with Hank Fraley coaching him. Similar with Vaki but he won't be relevant unless Gibbs gets hurt. I already gave my opinion of TeSlaa. He very well could be WR3 next year and possibly WR2 in 2 years so he has value in dynasty leagues. Another Holmes pick with freakish athletic ability. That said, each year the Lions have made a surprising reach. Vaki, DT Brodric Martin, LT Manu from Canada and now Teslaa.
