WR Isaiah Bond, CLE (1 Viewer)

I remain bullish on Bond, his speed really shows when watching games. But the qb play has been brutal. Gabriel had 5 completions to his receivers. Don’t see how it’s going to get better this year for Bond.

Down 4 with 11 seconds left and no timeouts, catches a ball in the middle of the field and does the first down motion instead of hustling to get lined up. Tells me everything I need to know about this guy,
That he's a young rookie? I'm not a fan of the showboating after every play that these guys do regardless of the score. However, we can just hope that he matures. He has ability though. He'll do more good than bad in the future.
Has nothing to do with being a young rookie. That is the action of someone with zero situational awareness. I would imagine a high school football player would recognize the importance of time management in that spot. Maybe I am old...

There have been plenty of very good players who made boneheaded plays when they were in their first couple of years.

Gabriel always struck me as a bit of a popgun arm type who would heavily target the underneath stuff like RB's and TE's. That checks and it's not ideal for WR's.

But he'll have to adjust as they will squat on that stuff and while I try and steer cleer of Shedueur Sanders talk it's still the case where Haslem has said he expects him to start games this year and I think he could be ideal for someone like Bond. Of course Tillman could be back by then and who knows what his role will look like but one thing seems clear is the Browns are focusing on their youth.

I digress, it was just something that stuck out to me when I was watching the game. Not a death knell for his prospects, just odd.

I would give Gabriel a few more games before determining his ability to feed receivers. He managed the game well for his first start against a defense that can be a challenge to face. I agree his arm is not top tier, but I think is capable enough to get others involved once his comfort level increases.

See Bo Nix last year. The first 1/4+ of the season, preponderance of throws were around the LOS

I grew up and went to high school and I liked Deion, having fun, talking ****, all that razzmatazz, and i was loud, brash, young, and stupid.

And then this guy named DeSean Jackson came along and he was similar but wildly different And so I observed and listened. And the more I watched people in the poor, rural areas of America and in our similarly impoverished murder cities, I thought, “That person is a tragedy for all of us.” Look at this. Watch the dancing. Then the shock on the sideline. There was always so wrong with him. We failed. Emari is a good kid. Really seems to be.

I never thought the DeSeans would win. I did not foresee that.

Check this article. It’s remarkable for its lack of self-awareness by both author and subject. Wait, DeSean, uou think this is racist? People are scared of you because you’re a young strong black man? Furreal? That’s what you really think? You do Tweet Farrakhan contemplating Hitler, fella. I mean . . .

I have to drop this here. it’s not great but I just . . . you want to emulate DeSean? Do you know what he believes in?

This freaking guy really won.
