The Athletic’s Charlotte Carroll says Giants WR Jalin Hyatt has been a standout performer early in training camp.
As Carroll notes, Hyatt’s speed “is just impressive to watch up close,” which has been evident through training camp clips posted to social media by the team and fans. Hyatt has flashed early in training camp and has already received multiple reps with the first-team offense. Hyatt is one of several slot receivers on the Giants’ roster but has been working to expand his route tree and ability to work out the outside. Continued strong performances in training camp could earn the rookie significant snaps early in the season.

“It was a quiet two days for rookie wideout Jalin Hyatt. Was hoping to see a few more splashes from him. This isn't much to worry about. He's a rookie. There will be ups and downs throughout.”
Giants WR Jalin Hyatt caught 4-of-5 targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s preseason game vs the Panthers.
Hyatt made up for a slow start, scoring the 33-yard TD after dropping a pass. The preseason standout has been slowly working his way in to the first-team offense in practices. Already the Giants’ top deep threat, Hyatt’s strong preseason has him in the mix for a starting role.

Last night solidified to me the #Giants will be getting rookie WR Jalin Hyatt involved right away (Week 1)
You can't keep THIS kind of talent off the field
He makes speed look effortless. Silky smooth transition after planting.
There's that switch release again on the LOS (something that benefitted them in 2022 & Hyatt separately at college).
And actually his route running has been said to be a plus in camp. I don’t expect huge numbers because I don’t expect it to be a great passing attack and I can see a few guys getting targets - but I think he’ll show something as a rookie and have a couple of 40-60 yard TDs.He's a Desean Jackson clone. Love this dude's tape. Saw concerns about a limited route tree.
Dude doesn't need to run anything but go routes, he has game breaking speed and acceleration. Move him around at the LOS like the Chiefs did with Tyreek.
Put dude in motion and defenses HAVE to react. Not just a track star, dude is a football player.
Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown basically said what I did here in an interviewIt will be interesting to see if he can’t run the complete route tree or was that simply something he wasn’t asked to do at Tennessee because of the offense. He may be a one trick pony, but it is a real good trick.
Either way his speed on the field should help open up things underneath for Waller and maybe take the safety out of the box and help Saquon.
NorthJersey.com’s Art Stapleton reports Giants coaches are pleased with Jalin Hyatt’s development this summer.
Hyatt, who has five preseason receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown, was practicing with the third-team offense as recently as July. The speedy wideout out of Tennessee has impressed Giants coaches during training camp as he steadily moves up the team’s receiver depth chart. Giants coaches, including Brian Daboll, “believed his elite speed — not just vertically, but his short area quickness — would eventually take the top off defenses and put cornerbacks on their heels.” The rookie might take a while to see a full complement of pass routes in the New York offense, but the lack of an alpha wideout in the offense could create a vacuum filled by an explosive pass catcher like Hyatt. He’s an interesting if volatile late-round option in redraft formats.
Jalin Hyatt played on 57-of-77 snaps in the Giants’ Week 6 loss to the Bills.
Hyatt’s snaps continue to increase, even if the production remains underwhelming. The rookie receiver caught just three passes for 21 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Bills, but posted a career-high in snaps in the defeat. As an explosive field stretcher, Hyatt will be somewhat limited by an offensive line that can’t hold blocks long enough for plays to develop. However, the increased snaps are encouraging, and could eventually lead to meaningful fantasy production.
Weather looks iffy too. Could be an ugly game. What Rubi said above is true - that abysmal O-Line inhibits either Jones/Taylor from having enough time to make comprehensive reads, let patterns develop and have time to heave accurate deep balls.
Big fan of both Robinson and Hyatt, but I don't think either of them will be consistent enough to rely on this year. Have to pick and choose one's spots.
This weekend's matchup with vs the 'skins defensive line is definitely not a Hyatt spot, IMHO.
100% agree. I prioritized Pops Douglas on the wire this week for bye week plugs. But also should have dumped Dotson for Hyatt for the higher upside on the back endIf he comes down with that one handed catch last week (it was close), this guy would have been one of the highest dollar FABB pickups the entire season. He didn't, but I still like what I've seen. When looking for league winners on the WW, look at ceiling, look at usage patterns and trust your eyes. Stats aren't always going to tell the whole story. Hyatt just looks like he belongs, like he has what it takes to become something special in the NFL. He has is issues, yes, but many draft analysts had him as the top prospect in this year's class. He has enough issues that some also ranked him quite low. None of his issues are unfixable. I was undecided around the draft and into the season, but what I've seen regular season leads me to believe he has what it takes.
Well done, I would explore trading all of them in the very near future.I think I may have done pretty well drafting Flowers, Tank, and Hyatt this year in my rookie draft.

Yeah, on 2nd thought, I do agree he has room to grow in value. So does Zay. I guess I should say when I meant explore trading them, I meant in the next 9ish months, not immediately.Well done, I would explore trading all of them in the very near future.
One of these guys is not like the others. Hyatt has size the others don't. He's definitely a guy you let develop a little. He's already now running with a consistent rotation on the outside. I'd actually preach patience with him. His value will go up by the end of the year.
Since the Cruz, Nicks, Manningham era (Cruz was the last to eclipse 1,000 yds in 2012)...only OBJ has had 1,000+yds in a season for the G-men.Is it just me, or do the Giants seem like a place for WRs go to die?

Daboll said WR Jalin Hyatt (concussion), OL Evan Neal (ankle), OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux (concussion) and CB Adoree’ Jackson (concussion) won’t practice today.
Jalin Hyatt was removed from the Giants’ Week 11 injury report and will play against the Commanders.
Hyatt cleared concussion protocol and will be ready to go for Week 11 against the Commanders. The rookie receiver has gotten off to a slow start in his profession career, catching 11 passes for 214 scoreless yards. Things will be much tougher for Hyatt in his return, as he’ll now be tasked with catching passes from Tommy DeVito, who has struggled to move the ball in limited action thus far. Hyatt isn’t on the Week 11 fantasy radar.
Agree 100%. Feel like he needs to show something the rest of the way - even with DeVito - to avoid the team marginalizing him next year with a big name FA or another high draft pick - which they may do anywayLike this kid's talent but the ROS situation is the worst.
Yeah, pretty much impossible to even know what they have here given the state of the offense.Like this kid's talent but the ROS situation is the worst.
Yeah those pesky giants are always bringing in big name wr talentAgree 100%. They’ve brought in 30 middling guys with little success, maybe they finally go big game hunting.Yeah those pesky giants are always bringing in big name wr talentAgree 100%. Jalin Hyatt now has more 100-yard receiving games than Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Quentin Johnston, and Zay Flowers COMBINED.
Njigba was the 1st WR taken, Quentin Johnston the 2nd taken, and Flowers the 3rd taken.
Hyatt had to wait 73 picks to hear his name called.
Hyatt today against the Patriots:
• 6 targets
• 5 receptions
• 109 receiving yards
Just imagine what Hyatt would look like with a Top-10 QB
