I am hoping to do the same, draft him late and stash on the IR. Every year there is a WR that goes undrafted that is at least a viable bench player. I will use an early waiver on that guy to replace Jameson until he ready later in the year.Took him in the 16th round (182nd pick, WR68) and stuck him on the IR.
He is not close. This will not be the OBJ rookie season explosion. But he's more than just a burner and late season he might see an uptick in usage.
Basically free in redraft, we have 18 man rosters + 2 IR spots, I can probably hold him through the bye weeks if I don't experience too much carnage on the rest of the team.
We have not seen him run any drills. Limited to meetings and walking around with a football (he carries on everywhere.) About the only news on him in camp was him deciding to ditch 18 - the reverse Megatron # - to take number 9. The balls on this dude lol I love it.
Have seen some social media posts he's doing some cone drills and lateral agility in his workouts, but still rehabbing, not running routes or catching passes. Going to be a slow process getting him up to speed. No reported setbacks.
On the plus side he's engaged, he went on both game road trips + the joint practice in Indy, they have big plans for him long term. But this year they are being smart and bringing him along slowly.
Lions GM Brad Holmes believes Jameson Williams (ACL) is ahead of schedule in his recovery and could "accelerate" his return.
On the reserve/NFI list, Williams must miss at least the first four games. “He is on track, again, I’m not going to put out a hard date, but I will say, the weeks and weeks he’s strung together with his rehab, and he’s so gifted from a genetic standpoint,” Holmes said Thursday. “Once he keeps that consistency going, it actually could accelerate that return that we’re thinking." Williams is still going to miss a huge chunk of the fantasy season, and will likely be limited upon his debut, but perhaps there is a chance he could get back on the field before November.

I'm feeling no-ish, but who is the end of the bench guy? This cat is a FA designated as "O" in my ESPN league. We have 3 IR spots, should I drop my end of the bench guy and stash him?
I think I could drop a guy, pick up Jameson, stash him to IR, and pick up another kicker.Dang, feeling a little yes-ish on replacing Mostert, if you have good RB's at the top. Don't understand dropping the kicker and picking up another? Wouldn't that fill the roster spot right back up.
Ohhhh. I thought when you said he's designated as "O", you meant that you couldn't IR him. But yeah if you can IR him I'd do the kicker thing unless you have Tucker or a kicker you really like.I think I could drop a guy, pick up Jameson, stash him to IR, and pick up another kicker.Dang, feeling a little yes-ish on replacing Mostert, if you have good RB's at the top. After the bye week seems about right. But it would be probably be a gradual increase in reps from there. With a week 6 bye there is at least an outside chance he could only miss 5 of the 17 games.
Think they will very much ease him in this year since this is still a rebuilding year for the team. He was pick #12 because of the injury was baked into his real life “ADP.” Imagine him being a top 3-5 pick fully healthy- sheesh. He was the perfect pick for the Lions- don’t need him yet but will need him heavily when their next QB is in tow. Goff won’t unlock him.

Definitely true but the team will still do the right thing for Williams long term.Think they will very much ease him in this year since this is still a rebuilding year for the team. From what I've seen of Dan Campbell, I don't think he understands the concept of a "rebuilding year".
I had not thought of that. Would require a Watson slice as we roll into Week 1, not sure he is going to do a whole lot opening week especially with Rodgers coming out and hyping Cobb, Watkins and Lazard. He said they deserve to start which I assume means they are going to be given more wiggle than some might want to believe especially those with rookie investments in Green Bay.Took him in the 15th round of a PPR redraft last night, felt like stealing. Especially when you can add him to IR and pickup another player for a month or so.

Roster him and then roll him on to IR, that's not a terrible idea.
Rodgers addressed both rookies and said they were like a salt n pepper shaker set, used sporadically is how I would describe it. Felt like Rodgers wants to work with Cobb, Watkins and Lazard, wants those 3 to have not just the first chance but felt like those are the 3 starting GB WRs for 2022. I would like to see the rookies hyped up more but I understand maybe things are going slower than I would prefer.I don't understand what you mean about all the GB receivers?I had not thought of that. I don't think of Watkins as a huge obstacle for a Rookie WR, not a good one anyways.
Someone posted about rostering Jameson and then putting him immediately on IR, it's a fantastic idea for leagues where you have that kind of flexibility. In order to do that I would need to make a cut, last WR on the bench and that is currently Watson from Green Bay. Ahhh, got it! My bad. Yes, that would be a tough swap to make unless you thought you had a really good chance of getting Watson back.Someone posted about rostering Jameson and then putting him immediately on IR, it's a fantastic idea for leagues where you have that kind of flexibility. The diatribe is why I feel it's painful to cut Watson and do this. I can bring Watson back but not until after Week 1 waivers but I can cut him right now and grab Jameson. It's an interesting maneuver and depends on your outlook for him and Detroit this year. Coming off injury he might not explode right away but I also hear he ahs looked good in practice and had some good reports leading up to start of the season.

This is correct.
Goff is the statistically one of the worst deep ball passers over the last three years. No evidence that will change this year.

Yeah. I had to cut Herbert to grab him and stash him. Did the same. Basically a free player. Took him with my last pick and moved him to IR the next day. See how he does the first few games when he’s back and make a decision then. Cost nothing.Took him in the 15th round of a PPR redraft last night, felt like stealing. Especially when you can add him to IR and pickup another player for a month or so.
I'm currently scoping both Jameson and Robinson to add to my IR and then adding Watson to my bench. Gotta drop someone though. These decisions kill me, why I torture myself with this game of decision? haha I am constantly overthinking things and then I miss out on the guys I put on my "watch list" to think a bit about. Is there a chance he doesn’t come back this year? I thought we were looking at a month?I'm currently scoping both Jameson and Robinson to add to my IR
I did the exact same thing. Two IR spots and used both of them for those two. I am hoping Jameson comes back this year and will be interesting to see what he can do on the field.
I mean, of course there's a chance. But yeah, I believe he is expected to be back long before the end of the season. Is there a chance he doesn’t come back this year? I thought we were looking at a month?I'm currently scoping both Jameson and Robinson to add to my IR

May target him tonight last round.
The espn app says NFI.Is he on IR or PUP?
Is he on IR or PUP?
The espn app says NFIR.Is he on IR or PUP?
Which is weird.
My guess is that designation is allowed for injuries that occurred before joining the team.
I only knew what that designation was this year with the Brian Robinson car jacking story.
NFI is because the injury happened outside an NFL activity. This distinction is because there could be contractual implications. Suppose, for example, a player cut himself at home. The team might not have to pay him... However, like IR, the NFI label means he's out for the first 4 games. Someone else mentioned the Lions bye is in week 6... so the week 7 prediction others made is about what I'm expecting. The espn app says NFI.Is he on IR or PUP?

In one of my leagues where RB's get hoovered up like crazy I managed to snag Robinson at the end of my draft and stuck him in an IR slot. If I eventually need the IR slot I can always cut bait but for now get to stash him and will now pick up someone as soon as FA opens tomorrow.I'm currently scoping both Jameson and Robinson to add to my IR and then adding Watson to my bench.
