A few decent vets got thrown back. Jameson slid all the way to 12th. Couldn't be more ecstatic.

He is not close. This will not be the OBJ rookie season explosion. But he's more than just a burner and late season he might see an uptick in usage.

I am hoping to do the same, draft him late and stash on the IR. Every year there is a WR that goes undrafted that is at least a viable bench player. I will use an early waiver on that guy to replace Jameson until he ready later in the year.

I managed to get him at the 1.07 in my dynasty draft but now am in the dilemma of whether I stash him on my taxi squad for this year and save myself some CAP space or do I keep him on my active roster when he might not be that usable until the second half. I don't have much WR depth this year as I have Pittman and Lockett as starters right now and only DeAndre Hopkins as another usable player after he comes off suspension. Could definitely use the depth and there isn't much out there in the FA pool right now that I could use. Either way I'm really needing the starters to stay healthy until I have some subs.

Lions GM Brad Holmes believes Jameson Williams (ACL) is ahead of schedule in his recovery and could "accelerate" his return.​

On the reserve/NFI list, Williams must miss at least the first four games. “He is on track, again, I’m not going to put out a hard date, but I will say, the weeks and weeks he’s strung together with his rehab, and he’s so gifted from a genetic standpoint,” Holmes said Thursday. “Once he keeps that consistency going, it actually could accelerate that return that we’re thinking." Williams is still going to miss a huge chunk of the fantasy season, and will likely be limited upon his debut, but perhaps there is a chance he could get back on the field before November.

The obvious answer is still week 7 against the Cowboys. He will start full practice after week 4. He will start getting reps with the team, but not really game ready for week 5. Another week of practice during the week 6 nye week. Then another week of practice and reps and game ready for week 7. Those two addition weeks to make sure he is physically and mentqlly game-ready will outweigh any benefit of inserting him into the week 5 game.

Someone posted about rostering Jameson and then putting him immediately on IR, it's a fantastic idea for leagues where you have that kind of flexibility. In order to do that I would need to make a cut, last WR on the bench and that is currently Watson from Green Bay. Sorry that wasn't clear.

The diatribe is why I feel it's painful to cut Watson and do this. I can bring Watson back but not until after Week 1 waivers but I can cut him right now and grab Jameson. It's an interesting maneuver and depends on your outlook for him and Detroit this year. Coming off injury he might not explode right away but I also hear he he's looked good in practice and had some good reports leading up to start of the season.

Yeah. I had to cut Herbert to grab him and stash him. On a team who’s strength is WR and need all the RB help I can get.

But Herbert made it back to me.

It’s an interesting dynamic. I haven’t played with IR spots before this year. Feels kind of cheap that you can pick up guys and stash them as an extra roster spot, but it is what it is.

I'm currently scoping both Jameson and Robinson to add to my IR and then adding Watson to my bench. Gotta drop someone though. These decisions kill me, why I torture myself with this game of decision? haha I am constantly overthinking things and then I miss out on the guys I put on my "watch list" to think a bit about. Hi is NFI (my bad) which functionally is the same as PUP. No difference in the rules about when he can return.

NFI VS PUP bc the injury did not incur when he was in the NFL. No idea why that matters.

NFI is because the injury happened outside an NFL activity. This distinction is because there could be contractual implications. Suppose, for example, a player cut himself at home. The team might not have to pay him... However, like IR, the NFI label means he's out for the first 4 games. Someone else mentioned the Lions bye is in week 6... so the week 7 prediction others made is about what I'm expecting.

I think I managed to scoop him up in EVERY league I am in. With him being eligible for the IR, it allows some flexibility while waiting for him to return. I figure if St Brown could do what he did last year, Williams should be able to step in and top that.


That's definitely WR3 production and I think the Alabama is fully up to speed by the end of the season and could go on a run. Lion's offense suddenly has become interesting. Playmakers at all skill positions.

Rodgers addressed both rookies and said they were like a salt n pepper shaker set, used sporadically is how I would describe it. Felt like Rodgers wants to work with Cobb, Watkins and Lazard, wants those 3 to have not just the first chance but felt like those are the 3 starting GB WRs for 2022. I would like to see the rookies hyped up more but I understand maybe things are going slower than I would prefer.

I don't think of Watkins as a huge obstacle for a Rookie WR, not a good one anyways.

I just mean what do they have to do with Jameson?

Someone posted about rostering Jameson and then putting him immediately on IR, it's a fantastic idea for leagues where you have that kind of flexibility. In order to do that I would need to make a cut, last WR on the bench and that is currently Watson from Green Bay. Sorry that wasn't clear.

The diatribe is why I feel it's painful to cut Watson and do this. I can bring Watson back but not until after Week 1 waivers but I can cut him right now and grab Jameson. It's an interesting maneuver and depends on your outlook for him and Detroit this year. Coming off injury he might not explode right away but I also hear he ahs looked good in practice and had some good reports leading up to start of the season.

I'm currently scoping both Jameson and Robinson to add to my IR and then adding Watson to my bench. Gotta drop someone though. These decisions kill me, why I torture myself with this game of decision? haha I am constantly overthinking things and then I miss out on the guys I put on my "watch list" to think a bit about. LOL

In one of my leagues where RB's get hoovered up like crazy I managed to snag Robinson at the end of my draft and stuck him in an IR slot. If I eventually need the IR slot I can always cut bait but for now get to stash him and will now pick up someone as soon as FA opens tomorrow.
