WR Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State (1 Viewer)

I know he's only a freshman but I was surprised a thread for him hasn't been made yet. He could be a WR1 for most teams in the NFL today.

As of right now, he's already better than Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Smith-Njigba and Harrison Jr.

That is all.

He has a special talent for his age, but he needs to continue learning and improving. He is in the right place with Hartline. He reminds me of a mix of Olave and JSN with better hands.

It was wild to see a school like OSU, playing Oregon for #1 in the country, being quite comfortable throwing up 50/50 ball for a true freshman.

He's 215 already. He might be a 230 pound rookie.

I know this phrase gets used too many times, but he is an absolute Generational Talent.
He's incredible and might end up as being a higher rated WR prospect then we've seen in a generation but I struggle putting that label on him when he's not even head and shoulders the top freshmen WR. Ryan Williams is ridiculous, a lot skinnier but as they say about 10X a week he's only 17 and moves in a way I've never quite seen.

NIL $ only thing holding back the opening of the convo for letting kids declare for the NFL draft after freshman year

NFL rules state that a player has to be at least 3 years removed from high school in order to be eligible for the draft.

Oh I know but this kid could change the convo. NIL $ might make it less urgent.
I am confused, he is a freshman so his first eligibility for the draft would be 2026 correct?

2027 at the earliest .

My first time seeing Jeremiah Smith in person. Reminds me of Travis Hunter in the way that some guys just move at a different speed/power than everybody else on the field.

Guy is unreal.

If he were eligible, Jeremiah Smith would be competing with Hunter to be the first non-QB drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Incredible talent. Only a freshman. That means we have to wait until 2027 to see him play in the NFL. McShay stated that JS would be the first pick in the draft if he was eligible this year. Not the first WR, but the first overall pick!

He’d be a top 5 talent in the NFL today as a college freshman. I’d argue JS is the only WR that could keep up with Ja’Marr Chase as far as talent.

Ferrari Chase
JS

2027! It's ridiculous. This is why black and white rules like this are dumb. I don't have a great case to argue against him going #1 overall in next year's draft other than some dumb arbitrary rule the suits created to protect themselves. He has the body of a an elite 28 year old athlete and looks to understand the position better than many 10 years his senior. He also appears to have a great head on his shoulders on and off the field. Smith should be in the NFL next year if he wants to be.

At least in this day and age he will get paid handsomely (and legally) to continue his development in college and insurance policies can protect his future, but still...I feel like Smith and NFL fans are being robbed of two years of his career.

People wanted to give this guy the heisman? He’s barely getting 3 yards a carry against like the 5th best team in the big 10
Who are the 4 better teams in the BIG? And please don't say Indiana

I'll give you Oregon and OSU and they're both in the quarter finals and one is guaranteed the semi's. Probably both would make the semi's if it weren't for Boise's and ASU's byes.

Boise St is a Mountain West team going against a top 3 Big D in a conference that is stronger with the addition of the Pac 12 teams.

Boise is clearly over matched up front.

Has it been a great game for him, absolutely no, but he still has 24/96/4.0 and 3/22 against a team of this magnitude that they haven't faced all year and wouldn't face until the expanded playoffs.

Oregon
Michigan
OSU
Indiana

My next question is.... If you had 1.01 next year in 1QB Dynasty, who are you taking over him?

Hunter?

The 2027 WR Class will have both Smith and Alabama's Ryan Williams who just finished his freshman season with 48/865/8 + 2 rushing TD's and he's only 17 years old! Doesn't turn 18 until 2/09/2025
