WR Joe Horn (groin) was very limited on Friday and was downgraded to doubtful making it unlikely that he'll be able to play.

Saints | Horn downgraded to doubtful

Fri, 10 Nov 2006 14:38:10 -0800

ESPNews reports New Orleans Saints WR Joe Horn (groin) has been downgraded to doubtful for the team's Week 10 game.

I'm SERIOUSLY considering starting Colston over Holt (and Kitna over Bulger FWIW) based on the weather issues in Seattle and the probabilty of MC going OFF as the WR1 on the Saints with Horn out again. Brees LOVES this guy...

Any more thoughts on Henderson?

I know he was injured for a few weeks earlier this season, then he went crazy last Sunday. I'm wondering if this was a fluke or a potential frequent occurrence if Horn remains on the sideline.

I don't think it's supposed to rain all afternoon on Sunday. Even if it does, players can play fine in the rain. It's the wind that makes things rough on the passing game. Their games are usually high scoring, and the Rams are one game behind the Seahawks now. I wouldn't be reluctant to play Holt.

Let's talk about this a bit. A new day has dawned on Nawlins. It's the Drew Brees show and this appears to be a team that is headed in the right direction for a few years anyway.

Joe Horn's is 34 years old right now. He's aging and his season last year was week. He has rebounded some this season but is now battling injury. Horn signed a 7 year extension in 05 with a 7 million dollar bonus. His salary looks like it jumps about 3 million next season. So he isn't going anywhere as it would be a cap wash an he is a team leader.

Now that doesn't mean that Henderson is not a good option this season as Horn appears to have a pretty serious problem getting on the field.

Don't base it on weather, Pitt area looks for rain and possible snow tomorrow

Without Horn, playing in Pittsburgh in bad weather - is Brees still a must start? Seriously considering playing Romo over Brees right now.

I'm not saying that Horn is going anywhere next year, but at the same time, I don't think that's too much of a stretch to think he wouldn't be back. I don't know the specifics of the team's salary-cap standing, but he had an injury-riddled season last year and is now hurt again this year after finally starting to turn around a slow start. I could see them releasing him after this season or at least trying to re-do his deal.

The rain isn't going to hurt the throwing game. If the Saints want to win this game, they are going to have to throw the ball.

there's a thread here where some guy met Brees at a reunion and he said Horn would go off this week. There's some info in that thread

I'm not putting a lot of stock in that thread.I mean it was a cool thread and all, but unless Brees knows the Steelers defensive gameplan for Horn, I just don't see how he can make that prediction.

me either, but there was comments +news re-his injury thereDowngraded is downgraded, can't sugarcoat that. I'm starting Tim Carter again. He'd better get more than last week or else I'm sending Big Score to his house to "motivate him". :D

Let me at 'em Bri. I don't hold with NFL players messing with FBG Board Members. You just tell me the where & the when.

I just traded Horn for Stallworth, hammy for hammy, but I had Horn last year when he hurt his hamstring/groin and he didn't rebound from it all year, so I was a bit worried about him being decent again this year.

Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question (was away from the computer since early this morning) but why did Copper start over Henderson?
:goodposting: WTH happened here??
No idea, but, I got suckered in too. Someone in the game thread said that Copper "started" for Horn last week too. I didn't look into things enough I guess.Devery hasn't even gotten a look at this point -- heck, I don't know if he's been on the field yet.
