“Glenn and New York’s offensive coaching staff have consistently said that they would build an offensive scheme that fits their players. Every great coach in the league would do just that.
The problem with Corley is that all of his tape comes from college. He’s still a very raw prospect, and New York’s new regime has no loyalty to him as a player. He has to earn every bit of playing time he could receive.”
Such a dumb blurb, lol. Maybe I'm out of touch but the Jets burned the #65 overall pick on this guy last year. The first pick of the 3rd round knowing that he was a raw prospect and now I'm supposed to believe that he's going to struggle to receive playing time?
Garrett Wilson
Allen Lazard
Xavier Gipson
Malachi Corley
Seems like pure conjecture by the beat writer. Personally, I like the raw prospect more after he's had a year to gain experience, not less. In some instances, the draft situation would matter but am I supposed to believe that somehow the new GM and Coach have greater attachments to Xavier Gipson and Allen Lazard? I see a clear path to a meaningful WR2 role with probably some designed screens, gadget plays to help out Justin Fields.
