WR PPR Redraft Rankings (1 Viewer)

I posted my WR PPR redraft rankings on my blog yesterday: Link

Here's an excerpt of my top 25:

1. Randy Moss, NE

Brady's back and healthy. He should have double digit TDs yet again and return to the #1 WR spot.

2. Calvin Johnson, DET

Superman. He was phenomenal without a QB last year and they’re starting to put some more weapons on the field. Megatron just goes out and produces regardless of the guy throwing the ball.

3. Andre Johnson, HOU

He seems to get injured every other year, but I can’t rank him based on that. Another stud who will consistently put up numbers. He reminds me of TO. Word has it that he hasn't dropped a pass in camp. He's a special player.

4. Larry Fitzgerald, ARI

Warner's bum hip is somewhat of a concern, but he's a good bet to finish top 5. The only problem with him is that he's just expensive being selected in the top half of the first in most drafts.

5. Marques Colston, NO

When healthy, he has the potential to be top 5 with Brees throwing him the ball. He's looking good after the knee surgery, which means a dominant year for Colston.

6. Greg Jennings, GB

Before last season, I questioned whether he would continue to put up the stats with Favre out of the picture. He clearly did and became a little bit more of a possession WR. Rodgers to Jennings should be a nice hook yet again this year. That offense has a ton of weapons which should keep defenses from focusing soley on Jennings.

7. Anquan Boldin, ARI

I can see Fitzgerald and Boldin both having 100 reception seasons this year. Some say Boldin is Warner’s favorite target. When healthy Boldin is one of the best WRs in football. He can be had cheaper than most of these top WRs and he should finish right at the top if healthy.

8. Steve Smith, CAR

Smith has some nasty speed and is able to get nice separation. He should continue to produce at a top level, but the injury drops him a bit. I'm not convinced he'll be 100% come week 1. This offense is also largely run oriented, which also limits his upside.

9. Chad Ocho Cinco, CIN

Comeback player of the year? He seems to be focused again, which means big things for Ocho.

10. Reggie Wayne, IND

One of the more consistent WRs out there. I'd be happy with him as my #1.

11. Roddy White, ATL

While the addition of Tony G. may limit his opportunities, I like the Falcons to run the ball less and throw a lot more with Ryan having a year of experience under his belt.

12. Wes Welker, NE

PPR machine. Give me this unheralded WR any day of the week. A #1 PPR WR who can be drafted as a #2 WR.

13. T.J. Houshmandzadeh, SEA

Consistent PPR guy who produced even with a garbage QB in Cincy. He should be a solid #2/borderline PPR #1 WR in 2009.

14. Dwayne Bowe, KC

Likely to see more double teams without Gonzalez, but he should also see more opportunities. The upgrade of Thigpen to Cassel will help and Bowe seems to be more motivated with Haley pushing him along.

15. Terrell Owens, BUF

Should have a year left at solid #2 WR production. He'll be the main man in Buffalo's offense.

16. Eddie Royal, DEN

Just a fantastic WR. I originally questioned his ability to maintain his production in 2009 without Cutler, but I'm starting to come around. He's a Wes Welker-type. Whether Marshall's in Denver or not, it won't matter. This kid's a player.

17. Braylon Edwards, CLE

His 17 TD season in 2007 may have been the anomaly, but 2008 wasn't an indication of his talent. He'll improve in 2009 and be a solid #2 PPR WR.

18. Santonio Holmes, PIT

The 2008 Super Bowl run resulted in better chemistry between him and Big Ben. I’m not sure if he’ll ever make the leap to stud status, but his quickness and ability to get open should be utilized again in 2009. Is this the year that the shift from Ward to Holmes happens? I think so.

19. DeSean Jackson, PHI

Started off like a bat-out-of-hell, but quickly cooled off. I’m not sure the addition of Maclin helps, but McNabb likes this guy. He's one of the best at getting separation and will be a solid #2 WR this season.

20. Vincent Jackson, SD

Rivers has finally come into his own and it seems that VJax has too. I think this year he may have a transition similar to what Jennings had in 2008 (i.e., he becomes a little bit more of a possession guy at times and his ypc levels out).

21. Brandon Marshall, DEN

Denver is a mess and I'm staying away from Marshall. Let another owner take a shot with his issues. I never want to be stuck with a player who's in the coach's/organizations dog house. He's being drafted way too high as a boom/bust guy and is not worth a top pick.

22. Jerricho Cotchery, NYJ

Now the official #1 option in New York. Hard worker who runs solid routes and has great hands making him a nice PPR option. He should get back over 1,000 yards receiving in 2009. It looks like he's taken his game to a new level from all reports out of Jets camp.

23. Devin Hester, CHI

One of my favorite breakout candidates this year. He can be had cheaper than this with an average draft position of WR #34 in PPR leagues and #87 overall. With Cutler, 2009 will be a breakout year for Hester. I see him breaking 1,000 yards behind Cutler's rocket arm. Hester has shown maturity at the WR position over the past two years, which I expect to continue with Cutler.

24. Antonio Bryant, TB

Always loved him at Pitt and he finally got his act together last season. The QB situation is unstable in TB, but he’ll be the #1 option in Tampa.

25. Steve Smith, NYG

Absolutely love this kid and did out of USC, as well. Smith runs great routes and has great hands. With 50 receptions as a slot guy in 2008, he developed the trust of Manning. He will never be a true #1 WR on any team, but should complement Nicks or Hixon nicely. He has the potential to be a 80 catch guy in 2009.

I have Roddy White higher (like 4-5). The Atlanta offense is ready to explode.
