WR Rashid Shaheed, SEA (1 Viewer)

Traded to Seattle. Great add for them, but BOOOOOO for my Horton shares.
I know in theory this means a decrease in targets, but I'm imagining Shaheed is going to take the top off the defense and open up the middle of the field for JSN and Horton. I don't think I'm seeing the negative.

No competent team is going to trade for an older WR to take targets away from their rookie WR who is flashing.

If anything, I think this is just a chess piece that was missing for the Seahawks. Might be good for everyone (though I think Shaheed becomes way more boom-bust).

Horton is going to be WR4 when Kupp returns and I think they will extend Rashid.

That's fine, I'm sure they planned to extend a guy they traded for. But he's at the tail end of his career and they drafted Horton. Both Kupp and Shaheed are nearing the exit ramps of their careers. Shaheed has 2-3 more years than Kupp, probably. But either way, you don't draft a rookie who then flashes their potential in the way Horton has already and then squash their growth by supplanting them with a vet.

I agree that Kupp is going to slot back into the lineup when healthy, but Horton will slowly earn more targets.

Shaheed, in my opinion, has no effect on Horton or Kupp other than taking some attention away by being a dangerous deep ball threat.

I was just talking about this year and Rashid is so so much more then just a deep ball threat and I'd consider him more in his prime then getting on the exit ramp.

Shaheed will still need a few weeks to get up to speed ,learn play book and build chemistry with Darnold.
It's not like Shaheed is some stud. He's a speed guy. He'll probably get 4-5 targets a game.

It's not like Shaheed is alot more talented than Horton..

I think the hawks are worried Abt Kupp and wanted another veteran wr.

I think Shaheed could absolutely be more than just a deep threat guy that’s seeing 4 targets per game.

He's way more then that, understand why people think that because it's how he came into the league but he's evolved.

FTR, ESPN is showing him as the starter.

I'm excited.
He prolly hasn't even arrived at the New Orleans airport to travel to Seattle, yet Espn has annointed him starter? Ha ha

Corbin K. Smith
From my understanding, the #Seahawks don't view Shaheed as a rental. They hope to be able to sign him long-term as a pair with JSN and Horton.

Shaheed isn't just an electrifying receiver with downfield speed. He excels on jet sweeps and as an extension of the run game and also has two career punt returns for scores.

Seattle likely will use him on kick returns.

I love Kupp but he is done being even a #2. He doesn't get separation. He is a decent 3/4. Hawks needed someone else to step up with consistency.

Hes basically a run blocker

The backup RB Seattle uses on punts has the most yds in the league in that category so he probably won't get work there.

What do guys think of him ROS? He was panic dropped and I have a big amount of FAAB left. Should I make a solid play for him?
I’d go mild.

He has more value in BB and/or non-PPR is my thinking.

There is a scenario where he acclimates quickly since he knows the system, the OC does really like him and could involve him heavier then we expect-like he did last year, and playing with the best QB and primary WR he’s played with he excels. I actually do think he has star potential and believes Kubiak does as well.

But in-season adjustments for a receiver is very difficult to get the timing down, JSN gets so much volume, Horton has looked good , Kupp looks toast but he’s highly paid and offers other services, two good looking TE’s, good D, and they run a lot.

All this seems to me like his volume will be low, not predictable when to start him, and by the time he really starts acclimating the fantasy season will be close to over.

I was just thinking the other day that my excitement for drafting JSN, which thankfully I did a few times, was a little tempered and sometimes I regretfully passed mainly because of concerns I had with Kubiak from last year when he threw everyone for a curve and was actually featuring Shaheed more then Olave. Now here we are and they are on the same team together.

Who is starting him this week? Horton out, Kupp questionable, two Cardinal cornerbacks out, Shaheed knows this system...

Wild. Interesting thought process, man.

I've changed a lot about how I think this year. Even in dynasty, if I see anything I get suspicious of, he gone for highest price. BTJ I knew to sell on draft day (I did not hear the GM gush about Hunter and was placated by Coen). That's never happening again.

Unless you're Chase or Jefferson and you're a Hall of Famer already, I'm not letting some dimwit stomp on my year. Just not going to let that happen. Even in dynasty. Insert picture of Cutler here, cigarette dangling, telling errrrrybody w/in earshot

DONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNT
