I have a Dynasty team loaded with these brittle guys: Swift, Bateman, Treylon Burks, and Jahan Dotson.Guy has barely played and already out for the season. Bates and Swift must be related.
John Harbaugh said Rashod Bateman (foot) will "be ready to soon run at full speed."
Bateman's season ended in early November. Lisfranc injuries are not easy to bounce back from, but Travis Etienne successfully did it last season and Bateman seems likely to be ready for training camp in 2023. Harbaugh raved about Bateman's offseason to date.

Dotson and Burks brittle? A little too early to make that judgement IMO. Won't argue with Swift and Bateman since its been multiple years in the league with injuries every season.I have a Dynasty team loaded with these brittle guys: Swift, Bateman, Treylon Burks, and Jahan Dotson.Guy has barely played and already out for the season. A day after DeCosta commented on the disappointment of failing to hit on an All-Pro WR despite taking multiple swings, Rashod Bateman, a 2021 first-round pick at the position, voiced his rebuttal in a since-deleted tweet.

Bateman tweeted out the part MOP bolded in response to Decosta's comments made yesterday so not a long time coming. Good question SMB, I don't know that it was a long time coming but he's the first I've seen put himself in harm's way for Jackson.Could you expand on he finally sent something and then deleted it? My personal opinion while yes he's probably had some mounting frustration for sure but his main reason for making that deleted tweet was not to defend Lamar or over any past frustrations. It was just in response to the GM slamming the WR's he drafted which of course includes him. GM's don't speak in public often and this is an example of why, this was foot in your mouth stuff. Like I was saying earlier I watched Decosta live give those comments and wondered what he was thinking that there was no way what he was saying would go over well with the WR's., I don't know that it was a long time coming but he's the first I've seen put himself in harm's way for Jackson.

ETA-Decosta IMO not trying to slam his WR's as much as he was trying to be self-deprecating. But he flubbed it.
The extra reason Bateman was so salty is because Ravens players from the past have been unloading on the Ravens for not keeping them healthy, and pushing the players into injuries. This is a pretty major story.I'm being honest when I say that when I saw DeCosta's comments in real time my thought at the time was if I was a WR on the Ravens, specifically Bateman, I'd have taken what DeCosta was saying as a slight
How this ends for the Ravens, like every team, will depend on the quality of decisions they make going forward."tired of y'all lyin and capn on players for no reason."My personal opinion while yes he's probably had some mounting frustration for sure but his main reason for making that deleted tweet was not to defend Lamar or over any past frustrations. That doesn't sound like the first time this thought crossed Bateman's mind.
Those are his words verbatim from Twitter before he took them down.

This is not gonna end well in Baltimore.
And the bad thing is both sides seem to want to press buttons to irritate the other
Ravens want to use the franchise tag because they can
Jackson can sit on that until 3 days before the season starts and pretty much put a quick end to the '23 season with a new OC coming in.
People or Organizations and players that like each other don't typically do these things.
I don't remember Josh Allen having any games played with his money when it was time to extend. And i don't remember Allen saying a negative word about the Bills.
Joe Burrow to his credit has done everything on the field possible and also says the right things off the field, talks about being a Bengal for LIFE, he's been very clear about that.
Jackson seems to be linked to possibly many teams in the NFL, seems to release info saying he is interested in NY, MIA, etc...posturing? Doesn't feel that way.
It's 2023, things have changed since 1983 and these days players seem to mostly get what they want.
Players in the future will look at how this situation is handled to gauge if they want to sign with the Ravens. Kind of a slippery slope
Former Ravens backing Bateman on his controversial tweet.there's plenty of tension in the organization right now. They just fired a hated strength coach, and they are $100 million off in negotiating with their QB. It's hard not to have tension with all that going on.
Yes but they already are having issues signing their star QB, you can't give the Ravens a passHow this ends for the Ravens, like every team, will depend on the quality of decisions they make going forward."tired of y'all lyin and capn on players for no reason."My personal opinion while yes he's probably had some mounting frustration for sure but his main reason for making that deleted tweet was not to defend Lamar or over any past frustrations. Hiring and keeping Steve Saunders for as long as they did appears to be a poor decision. Firing him appears to be a good decision.
Obviously, there's plenty of tension in the organization right now. They just fired a hated strength coach, and they are $100 million off in negotiating with their QB. It's hard not to have tension with all that going on.
But all that matters is the quality of decisions they make going forward. If the organization is competitive and well run, they won't have any issues signing players.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh said Rashod Bateman (foot) is "healthy and going to be running in three weeks."
This quote comes two months after Harbaugh said Bateman would "be ready to soon run at full speed." Perhaps this is the timeframe Harbaugh had in mind when making the comment, but regardless, it sounds like Bateman is trending in the right direction. The third-year receiver saw his 2022 campaign come to an end after undergoing season-ending Lisfranc surgery last November, finishing the season with a 15-285-2 line. We'll assume Bateman will be ready in time for training camp, but it's safe to say his quarterback situation is up in the air, after Lamar Jackson announced his request for a trade.

His risk is built into his cost, so I like the call. Bateman vs. Cedric Tillman, Dalton Kincaid or Zach Evans? The upside of Bateman is worth taking a chance on.This discussion started in the OBJ topic, but figured this was a better place for it:
Who's in on Rashod Bateman as a bounce-back, buy-low WR?
I am 100% in, and recently bought in both of my dynasty leagues. 6'1-2, 200-ish lbs, 4.39 40, 1st round draft capital (27th overall pick)
Still just 23 years old, with only 30 year old OBJ as WR competition, though arguably the 2nd target behind Andrews (depending how the new OC schemes things) - his performance to-date has been hindered by 1st a groin injury requiring surgery, and last year plantar surgery, neither of which are expected to impact his future ability.
With a new OC in town, IMO Bateman is a terrific buy-low candidate. He's built like JSN with a much faster 40 time, and in college he was moved around in formations.
He can be acquired with a mid-2023 2nd, or an early 2024 2nd, which I believe leaves plenty of room for profit.
Planting my flag: Bateman is your best bet as a buy-low FF WR.
Counterpoints welcome, of course.
There's also a very real chance that a more traditional passing offense is in the works, as Greg Roman is gone. I don't believe it's a safe assumption that Andrews will be the #1 target in this passing game. His risk is built into his cost, so I like the call. I have resubmitted a trade offer for Bateman after the OBJ signing in Balt to see if owner has reconsidered the 2.07 pick. They have the 2.05 and a 4th. Not much else in picks. They are competitive roster but lost Hall & 3 WR last season but they need several WR to step up this year (Sutton, WanRob, Sky & Rondel Moore). This discussion started in the OBJ topic, but figured this was a better place for it:

They’ve all but given up on him it seems.I'm so slow. Did not even cross my mind to low-ball Bateman GMs. He's still a blue-chip prospect in my eyes with a high ceiling.

I’m not that concerned as a Bateman shareholder.
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (foot) was on the field for the first day of OTAs.
Bateman working with the team on the first day of OTAs is a step in the right direction for the third-year receiver. Plagued with injuries in each of his first two seasons, Bateman's recovery from Lisfranc surgery has been a topic of discussion for the Ravens all offseason, as the team looks to see how he responds in the coming months. Bateman faces significant competition heading into this season, with Odell Beckham Jr. and rookie Zay Flowers also on the roster. While he figures to be the team's top wideout, the targets won't be easy to come by in what may be the deepest receiver room the Ravens have had since Lamar Jackson became the full-time starter.

John Harbaugh said Rashod Bateman has been working off to the side doing individual work. He doesn't expect Bateman to be fully involved during mandatory camp. "He had a shot for healing purposes - a cortisone type deal - that will keep him out for a couple days. We just decided to let him keep rehabbing and make sure he's ready to go for training camp."
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Ravens placed wide receiver Rashod Bateman on the reserve/did not report list. He was shut down for minicamp after getting a cortisone shot in his foot to help with healing. “I have spoken to Rashod and we expect him here very soon,” said Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said.
Ravens placed WR Rashod Bateman on the PUP list.
Bateman inexplicably missed two days of training camp, only to report and subsequently be placed on the PUP list. Bateman had his 2022 cut short by a Lisfranc injury that required surgery to fix. He received a “cortisone-type” shot in his foot last June, according to head coach John Harbaugh, so it’s possible his landing on the PUP list is related to his foot injury. Through two seasons, Bateman has appeared in 18 games for the Ravens, totaling 61 receptions for 800 yards and three touchdowns. Bateman has high-end WR3 upside in Baltimore’s revamped offense if he can get on the field, but he’s off to a bad start out of the gate for this year.

Although Bateman isn’t ready to practice yet, indications have been that the Ravens expect him to be at full speed before the season starts.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said WR Rashod Bateman (active/PUP, Lisfranc) has a “chance to be out there soon.”
Bateman hasn’t practiced since a setback at Ravens’ OTAs. The absence has allowed Zay Flowers and Odell Beckham to get the majority of reps with the starters this preseason. Bateman’s late start has him likely to open the year in three-wide sets.

Worth mentioning that WR Rashod Bateman, who remains on the PUP list, was running on an adjacent field. Was first time we've seen that since camp started. Bateman was moving pretty well.
I wouldn’t write him off yet.To think that this was my guy until he measured two inches shorter and twenty pounds lighter than listed in college. I was saved by that. I almost traded Micah Parsons for him right after a draft once, and decided I needed Parsons more. That turned out fortuitous so far. This guy's career has been befallen by injury.
Again, had screws removed. It would be a shame if his career never gets off the ground because he can't stay healthy.
I'm sure some day he'll make a fine complementary WR behind Zay Flowers.Again, had screws removed. It would be a shame if his career never gets off the ground because he can't stay healthy.
Not a setback. A delay obviously doesn’t help, but it sounds like he’s close.

I have him on one team and I’m getting close. WRs that miss multiple seasons early with various leg injuries often just fade away.I wouldn’t write him off yet
Glass half empty: they brought in OBJ and Flowers to replace BatemanI gave up on Bateman this off-season. I essentially traded him away for Kamara pre-plea bargain and announcement of suspension length. I think it is telling that they brought in OBJ and drafted Flowers with a high draft pick.
