WR Stallworth Says He'll Play Monday? (1 Viewer)

I'd love to plug him in there, but after last week...I don't want to get burned!

Thinking either Mason, or S. Moss. Anybody else worried?

I'm planning to start him too, and will probably need him. Since it's Monday night it's going to be tough to determine if you need to bench him or not. I'm thinking about picking up Greg Lewis off the WW and if Stallworth can't go plug him in just for this week. This might be a good strategy for anyone else who may not have a decent backup for Stallworth.

I may start Stallworth and TO this week :bag:

Chambers, Moss, Williamson will substitute automatically if they don't get enough touches to qualify so I'm not that worried (yet)

I'm sitting him. It still doesn't sound like he is a go.
A MRI this week showed he has a slight strained hamstring. Doesn't seem like they would play him until that heals, but who knows.

Unless there is some positive news between now and Sunday, I'm leaning towards benching him in favor of Bruce in a PPR league.

Hopefully he will practice this weekend. Today was their first practice of the week so it doesn't seem like that big of a deal that he sat out.

WR Stallworth Says He's Positive He'll Play

Reuben Frank, PhillyBurbs.com - [Full Article]

It crushed WR Donte Stallworth that he didn't play Sunday. “It was definitely hard, especially because I bought 70 tickets,” Stallworth said. “I'd never played a meaningful game in Oakland or San Francisco.” Stallworth sat out the 49er game with a hamstring strain. It was the first game he'd missed since 2003. The team lists Stallworth as questionable for their game Monday night against the Packers, but Stallworth doesn't consider himself questionable. He's positive he'll play. He sat out practice yesterday but did some running and cutting on the side and said he's feeling better every day. LINK

He hasn't practiced yet, so nothing here is certain. Although this seems on the positive side. It's the only thing I could find this morning regarding Stallworth.

Ahhh, that was gonna be my suggestion. Good call. Grab lewis, and make the move Monday night.I think if someone had to decide by Sunday, or before monday, I wouldn't play him.

:hifive: He is making me nervous though. I want him healed. A nagging hammy all year long is going to nag me as though my hammy was nagging me. Hopefully he isn't rushing himself.

Really want to believe this and plug him in this week on the big stage but after getting burned last week, I am leery. Thinking of going Muhammed or Glenn over him. Need lineups in on Sunday for my league. Hopefully the news keeps getting better but it is not like these guys and coaches don't lie to throw the other team off.

For what it is worth. Hopefully his hammy does not tighten up overnight-

Eagles | Stallworth practices Friday, intends to play

Fri, 29 Sep 2006 13:39:22 -0700

Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Donte' Stallworth (hamstring) practiced Friday, Sept. 29, and he intends to play in Week 4. He is listed as questionable on the team's injury report.

He practiced today and "didn't appear bothered by the injury"

Wide receiver Donte' Stallworth and free safety Brian Dawkins returned to practice for the Eagles today. Stallworth missed Sunday's 38-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers at Monster Park due to a hamstring injury.

He didn't appear bothered by the injury while running routes today in practice. Dawkins suffered a concussion in the third quarter of Sunday's win and didn't return.

Like Stallworth, Dawkins missed practice yesterday but was back on the field today.

Three players who missed yesterday's practice remained sidelined - cornerbacks Roderick Hood and Lito Sheppard and running back Brian Westbrook.

Hood has been bothered by a right heel strain and didn't practice last week. But he did play in the game, lasting until early in the fourth quarter before the pain became severe.

Sheppard hasn't played since the Eagles opening 24-10 win over the Houston Texans. He sprained his right ankle in that game.

Westbrook has swelling in his right knee. This is the third consecutive week that he has missed substantial practice time, but Westbrook has been available for the games.

Before practice, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson hinted that Sheppard could practice tomorrow.

"He feels much better," Johnson said. "If he is ready to go tomorrow, we will probably play him."

The Eagles could benefit from the extra day, not playing until Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field against the Green Bay Packers.

another duante quote

Starting WR Donte' Stallworth (hamstring-questionable) returned to practice Friday. The team wants to see how he responds to today's practice and how he does tomorrow before making a determination for his status for Monday night. Today was like a Thursday practice.

"I'm feeling better, making progress every day. It helps that it's Monday night, so I get an extra day and a half," he said Friday. "I'm feeling OK. OK is not good enough, but I'm feeling pretty good right now. I'm hoping that I can continue to feel good and I've been getting better everyday. I felt like a kid in a candy store. It was fun being back out there, being able to run around in practice, catch balls and run routes. We'll try it again tomorrow. There were no setbacks today, which was good. I was able to push it a little bit more. I'm feeling good about the way I've progressed so far in the past few days."

How can anyone think of starting a guy that was a last second scratch out of nowhere.

Now we know he is hurt and people want to take a chance.

No thanks.

My reasoning is simple. My league has a rule in place that if a player is questionable you can start that player and name a backup. If said player doesnot play than your backup is started in his stead and you get points fo rthe backup. Only works in situations where a plyer is questionable. If you he is probable than you are sol and if doubtful you can start him but he will not be subbed for.

Only the trophy leagues have that feature at Ant's unless it is a custom elague and the they voted to get that GTD feature.

 Weren't you the guy who was absolutely sure that Stallworth would not be able to "learn and digest the playbook this year?" And that there is no way he could be a top 30 WR because he has no chemistry with McNabb? And that he wouldn't have enough practice time during each week to pick up the ultra complex west coast offense? If I remember correctly, you posted the above several times over and beat that drum pretty hard.

I sure was and I was wrong. But the Donte we all know is surfacing as expected.

Any Saturday word?
Eagles wide receiver Donte Stallworth practiced Saturday for the second consecutive day, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Stallworth missed practices earlier this week with a hamstring injury that also forced him to sit out last Sunday against the 49ers. "You've got to be careful with a hamstring," Stallworth told the paper when asked if he would play Monday. "I'm definitely encouraged. I feel OK and it's getting better and better every day."

Same boat. The league I have him in locks lineups at 5 minutes before the early games.

WR Stallworth Improving, Expected To Play

John Nalbone, Philadelphia Express-Times - [Full Article]

Although some Eagles were more limited than others yesterday, all except backup CB Rod Hood and S Sean Considine participated in the final practice of the week. WR Donte Stallworth and his improving hamstring worked out for the second straight day, and his status is a bit clearer. The Eagles' wideout is expected to play against the Packers Monday night. "It's gotten better every day and that's a good thing," said Stallworth, who sat out last week after tweaking the hamstring during pregame warmups. "I think I'll be OK, but you have to be careful with hamstrings because you never know with an injury like that." LINK - Scroll Down

Hank Baskett started in place of Stallworth last week.ETA: Baskett had just 2 targets vs. Lewis' 5 last week despite starter status.

Just gonna take him out, throw Reggie Williams in there. Sucks because this is such a great matchup

We likely won't have any news soon enough for most leagues. Not feeling comfortable with Drew Bennett as my other option, I added Greg Lewis and left Stallworth in my lineup.

If Stallworth plays he should be :moneybag:
