Nico is only missing one more gameWho steps up with him out? Obviously Dell, but Nico is still out and they have games to play.
He's a buy low but he will be 31 next year and coming off an ACL injury. The team has Nico and Dell and a couple younger guys in Metchie and Hutchinson that could make a name for themselves going forward. What's his future outlook like? Buy low? How low? Sell while there's still name recognition?
I see him as very dependent on where he lands in 2025...What's his future outlook like? Buy low? How low? Sell while there's still name recognition?
karma is undefeatedMy worry is next year he is playing but not back to 100%. So then his year 32 season he's back but now he's 32. This injury really sucks.
If Diggs doesn't stay in HOU maybe Dallas is a good spot playing 2nd to Lamb.karma is undefeatedMy worry is next year he is playing but not back to 100%. So then his year 32 season he's back but now he's 32. This injury really sucks.
forced himself out of Buffalo for being a dickhead
forced Houston to rip up the later years of his big money contract
maybe Dallas takes a flyer on him to placate his brother
Who steps up with him out? Obviously Dell, but Nico is still out and they have games to play.
The boring favorite here is probably Woods because of his prior experience and production, but I have a hunch Metchie will be the guy that best fills the gap left by Diggs. Xavier has flashed athletically at times but remains all too inconsistent as a player. It's possible he's never worked on/corrected some of the pre-draft route running concerns that existed and probably kept him out of the top rounds in the draft last year. Metchie is an early 2nd round pick and has always been considered more of a slot guy. He's also always been considered a plus route runner, much better than the other young guys on this roster. When drafted, he was recovering from an ACL tear and then was diagnosed with leukemia during his rookie camp. He seems to have put both of those major hurdles in his rear view, and I'm excited to see what he can do with a real opportunity. Prior to his ACL tear in December 2021, his final year of college, he was going to be a first round pick. People may be sleeping on him at this point, he's got skills, understands the game and he's barely 24.
I was a big fan of Metchie's career at Alabama and drafted him with the expectation of potential in NFL.The boring favorite here is probably Woods because of his prior experience and production, but I have a hunch Metchie will be the guy that best fills the gap left by Diggs. I agree and I'll always take a risk on a high ceiling guy like him vs a higher floor guy like Woods. It's been years since he played at Alabama, but I think people have forgotten just how good he really was. Metchie was/is special and his love for the game is obvious. He's fought hard to be where he is right now. He really is a great route runner and excels working the middle of the field. Between his ACL recovery and battle with leukemia, this might be the time when he really starts to feel full strength on the field again.I was a big fan of Metchie's career at Alabama and drafted him with the expectation of potential in NFL.The boring favorite here is probably Woods because of his prior experience and production, but I have a hunch Metchie will be the guy that best fills the gap left by Diggs. His obstacles were major (as pointed out), but he has done everything to overcome them and is just now getting the opportunity to actually grow and develop in the "game".
His potential is higher IMO.
Have you watched his college tape? Also, FWIW he also flashed in the preseason this year. He looked pretty good. The boring favorite here is probably Woods because of his prior experience and production, but I have a hunch Metchie will be the guy that best fills the gap left by Diggs. Has Metchie every done anything in two years to make you say this? He's had every opportunity and crickets. I really think injuries and sickness have permanently hindered his chance of being "him".

Been given every opportunity? What do you mean by that? C'mon man. Until this week, he's been buried on the depth chart through no real fault of his own. He tore his ACL in December 2021, so 2022 was pretty much going to be a wash even without the leukemia diagnosis. Cancer treatment reeks havoc on the body, so it's probably a stretch to say he was ever at full strength in 2023 either.
Now, 2024, after a year of practicing and playing on his repaired ACL and a year to regain his strength after a battle with cancer, it might finally be his time. He has the talent, now that talent may be finding opportunity. He's far from a sure thing, but I do believe he fits a need and like I said earlier, he had a first round grade until he blew out his ACL. He's only 24. His story is far from written.
You have been hearing this for two years? So like when the guy had leukemia and wasn’t sure if he’d ever play again you were hearing about how good he might be? Like then, when just living wasn’t a sure thing? You have to be trolling.Have you watched his college tape? Also, FWIW he also flashed in the preseason this year. I've been hearing this for the past two years and have yet to see anything on the field to prove your point, not even a flash. I hope I'm wrong but I moved on last year and think he's just being rostered in hopes someone values him like you do and meets Casserio's ask.

I agree. High ceiling player who needs a chance. And on a side note, he finished last week with 3 catches on 4 targets, far and away his best totals of the season. I'm not sure what he will do this week on a short week without any time to put in any real work with the 1s, but I do expect his usage/opportunities to increase significantly in week 10. What he does with that opportunity is an unknown, but we'll finally start to find out if his talent and pedigree translates to production in the NFL, or not.![]()

2023 and 2024 season = two years buddy
Yep, easy guy to root for and cheap to acquire in fantasy. I figured tonight would be a wash, but it will be interesting to see how he does with extended practice time with Stroud moving forward. I've seen him open a few times tonight but on a short week it's expected he and Stroud won't have a connection, especially when the Jets can't stop Mixon or Houston's first read in the passing game. Tonight, that's Tank Dell.I agree. High ceiling player who needs a chance. And on a side note, he finished last week with 3 catches on 4 targets, far and away his best totals of the season. I dropped LV WR Tre Tucker for Metchie “for my end of bench” roster slot.
2023 was mostly recovery and getting healthy after treatment so IMO I don’t hold that year against him. The fact he did not supplant Dell or X is not a disaster but now he has an opportunity I believe he will step up. I still consider him a rookie since he really never hit the field 2022-2023
Time will tell.
I like Metchie. I hope he succeeds
