WR Terry McLaurin, WAS (4 Viewers)

Saying the numbers dont go up because of the college connection if the overall production isn't on par with Keenums last two seasons and the current one. He may play like Josh Rosen, and that wouldnt be offset by the college connection.
You’re missing the fact that Haskins and McLaurin played together...in college.

He might not be flashy or have 4.3 speed but honestly he seems set to be like a Jarvis Laundry(Miami days) type, high volume, good PPR, solid 10-15 most weeks, 15-20 occasionally but usually not falling off the map. He seems steady in this offense.

Um, no he's blazing fast, ran 4.31 at the combine.  In Indy, which by the way is where he grew up.  In case you didn't know.  And he played with Haskins at OSU, where he was rooommates with Hasking and played with Paris Campbell and Johnny Dixon who both ran 4.31 at the combine, which was also in Indy.  Campbell didn't grow up there though, he grew up in Akron where LeBron James is from so there's that.

Wait, he knows Haskins?

He does have 4.3 speed and he's nothing like Jarvis Landry.

I overpaid (relative to other FAAB bids) for him during week 1 waivers but am very excited to own him. Looks like a solid WR2 with weekly WR1 upside, especially with Washington’s crappy defense.

Dare I say league winner????

If Haskins gets in the huddle, hell yeeessss!

So rumor is he played at osu?
IF true, he might have crossed paths with Dwayne Haskins the former Buckeyes QB. Should Haskins ever unseat Keenum, and IF Haskins and McLaurin had overlapping time at OSU, the potential exists for instant chemistry between the two. I know its a BIG IF but worth exploring just in case. I mean, you just never know.

It's a running joke in the thread, shady.

And also, Haskins will unlock a lot more of his potential than Keenum has, imo. When he's ready, of course. Haskins can make throws Keenum wouldn't dream of attempting, and Haskins also showed HUGE growth in terms of his pocket presence and maneuvering in the preseason, an area where Keenum has been weak.

To ballsy to roll him out against the Bear D on MNF?

He is in my Lineup at flex. If Emmanuel Sanders can blow up against Chicago i don’t see why terry can’t. I’m a sucker for primetime games too.

I want to thank everyone for the corrections on this guy's ability to stretch the field and be an explosion. I simply was making the connection that Landry caught a ton of balls when he entered the NFL and this reminds me a little of that, they can be completely different WRs but the rookie has 16 targets already and that was what I was focused on.

And I have to admit that those posts only made me feel better for taking this guy after Week1. The schedule is going to be a lot tougher in the coming weeks but he has done well vs Philly and Dallas, those are two tougher teams in the East. He will have some rookie blues as the season grinds on but owners have to love sliding him into a WR3/Flex spot and perhaps slide him up higher into the WR stable they have.

I see no reason to not start him but I'm not eager for Haskins to jump in. Even though they have rapport at OSU, that doesn't mean it will look like it did in college during the rookie seasons. I'm not dogging Haskins, like the guy and think the Skins will be happy whenever they get him out there but there will be a learning curve IMO.

I’m at the point of starting him over Landry as well.  I’m trying to package Landry and Singletary for Hill.

I feel like at his worst, Mclaurin can give me what Landry does.

more goodness, from pff.com:

TERRY MCLAURIN IS THE CLEAR NO. 1 TARGET IN WASHINGTON

Scary Terry is taking over the nation’s capital. The Redskins’ third-round pick, former Ohio State wide receiver Terry McLaurin, has quickly emerged as the team’s top target just two weeks into his rookie year. The 6-foot, 208-pounder has played 90.3% of Washington’s offensive snaps through Weeks 1 and 2, a figure that leads all at his position. He also leads his team and all rookie pass-catchers in aimed target share (21%). And the results from his heavy usage have been nothing short of spectacular. McLaurin ranks fifth in receiving grade (82.4), 15th in yards per route run (2.49) and 14th in passer rating when targeted (142.4) among wideouts with 40 or more routes run in 2019.

Coming out of the draft I though McLaurin looked like a bigger TY Hilton. Grabbed him at the end of every draft.

Expect him to finish as a top 25 WR.

Loving the production so far, but I don't know if I can start him against the bears defense. I'm expecting his worst game of the season.

We should keep this Anonymous.

looks great. Keenum not going anywhere anytime soon, he's one of the best QBs in the league, stats-wise, so far.

Terry missed a bomb for another TD week one, opening play of week 2 another 60+ yard bomb overthrown. this kid could be special.

We have certainly never seen Keenum play well for a few games and suddenly fall apart... :)

More of my own personal story. I had Big Ben. He went down. Keenum is throwing the ball 35+ times a game so far. I'm buying, thanks. I just purchased a brand spankin' new discount Keenum that comes with a Brissett and Masonry. It's odd, but it'll hodge-podge.

Seriously. Guy chucks and ducks. Been reading articles. He seems to have won the job outright and people in the organization want Haskins to sit a year, FWIW.

Would be smart to let Haskins sit. Unless a guy is ready coming out, sitting a year and getting used to the NFL rhythm and season is not a bad thing. He can come into camp next year either fighting for the starting job or being given it but either way he'll have the rookie year logistic stuff out of the way.

McLarin will grow with Haskins. Maybe a TY comparison.

My favorite part about having McLaurin on dyno rosters is all the low ball offers rolling in after week 2

Yeah, I'm going to move my 3rd rounder this year who has blown up for another 3rd next year, or Ito Smith. Makes perfect sense!

He is WR13 overall in PPR through 2 weeks.  Starting him over player X works in almost every case based on what has happened so far.

Manny Sanders shredded vs the Bears.  Plus its on MNF.  Breakout party!
