WR Trends 2008 (1 Viewer)

I understand we have a top 250 moving forward...and this will change as it always does.

What do you feel is the real top 31 WR's moving forward? Obviously, injuries or suspensions may affect the rankings down the road, always does. Why 31? Because after 31 I can't see it? I can't see V Jackson or Bryant Johnson or Crayton or Gage or even Marvin Harrison (whom I have loved). I can barely see R White, Coles, or Bowe.

Here's my shot with a + being higher than most and a - being lower than most:

1) Owens + don't like him but...studly bump thanks to Romo.

2) Marshall + stud

3) Fitzgerald + (tie) - Warner

3) Boldin + (tie) - Warner

5) Wayne

6) Burress + looks great

7) A Johnson

8) S Smith + will shine

9) R Moss - Bradyless

10) Edwards - will awaken just not stratospherelike #'s

11) Cal Johnson - Lions hmmm...

12) Colston + still a stud (bye him for another 4 weeks)

13) Jennings

14) Cotchery

15) S Moss + why not?

16) Holmes (tie)

16) Ward (tie)

18) Holt - Rams...not sure?

19) R Williams - wants the ball

20) TJ Housh - top 5 to top 20

21) Evans

22) Welker

23) A Gonzalez + Manning and Colts w/ Harrison sinking

24) Chambers

25) DeSean Jackson + big bump up

26) Bowe

27) C Johnson - keeps dropping

28) Driver

29) Royal +

30) Coles

31) R White

Put Engram in there. He's only missing one more game and should be a top 20 WR again, especially in PPR leagues.

Curtis should be there, too, from when he returns, but that's a less certain timeframe.

DeSean Jackson won't stay there when the starters return (Brown and Curtis).

I think DeSean will still be starting. Even when Brown and Curtis get back. Back to back 100 yard games do not get sent to the bench too often. Unless he falls way off in the next 2 weeks I could see him starting all year.

I think the cardinals guys are both too high. Top-10 for sure but top-5 I don't see both of them staying there. Warner isn't going to have weeks like week 2 every week.

I could see Roddy White higher as well. As Ryan gets more comfy White's #'s will go up. I don't see much of a difference between him and Evans.

I know they've looked brutal for two weeks, but the Bengals WRs are buy-low.

Johnson hasn't finished outside the top 10 WRs since 2002, and Housh had 100+ catches and double-digit TDs a year ago. There'll be some slippage from those heights, sure, but they're not falling completely apart.

There won't be 26 better WRs than Johnson from here on out, or 19 better than Housh.

I hear you...I can't imagine it either. Both of these guys in the top...15? Or 20? I just don't see it in Chad Johnson right now. Will he turn it around for buy low? Or is he middle of the pack this year? And Housh...who I like better than Ocho Cinco. What about him?

Well looking at your list, I'd slot both guys in the low/mid teens, somewhere around Jennings.

He's been the worst WR in football this year. I think he'll turn it around somewhat but it's hard to project him for top 10 going forward.

It's early...like I say in golf after the first few holes...lotta golf left. From someone being so outstanding last year, Braylon Edwards will get back into form...he's just gotta. And we don't own him. He just looks like a guy out of sync right now. I see Edwards borderline top 10...can't imagine him dropping too much lower. Great buy low candidate for an owner who is panicking. Who would you rather have Edwards or S Moss, Chambers, V Jackson, Bowe, Royal, or even Hines Ward / Santonio Holmes? Give me Edwards all day long.

You would certainly think or now atleast hope so :lmao: The question is how much slippage? Double digit TD's? If double digit TD's then both of these guys would be back up in top 10 status again.

I think Bowe is being somewhat overlooked. He gets lots of targets and has performed well this year so far with 3 different QBs -all with questionable talent. They try to force feed the ball to him near the goal line. I could see him sneaking into the top 15.

I'd move Chambers up.

Seems Rivers & Chambers are developing a nice rapport right at the time that Rivers is stepping up his play.

Combine that with the Bolts D not being all that & I see only positives for Chambers.

Agree. I think he has 4 straight regular season games with a TD.

Not sure whether or not I completely agree with this, but on the buy-low tip, I really believe folks should strike NOW if they want to buy these guys. Absent a Palmer injury, I don't think these guys can get any lower in value.

P.S. - and Cal Johnson is too low.

Lions defense is unbelievably bad - Cal John should see 10+ targets the rest of the year, with most of them comingin the 4th q. of games. I could see him flirting with 200 targets this year!!!

I hope you are right about Calvin Johnson. Many are seeing him around top 5-8? As a somewhat bias Lions fan (all my life) I must temper my expectations some. Marc, if what you think is correct then Cal would be near top-notch stud status. Last week was certainly great fantasy wise, I just wonder how his numbers will play out over the season?

Not a chance. Team is horrible. Herminator doesn't care how bad he gets pummelled, he will still try and run the ball. The QB is 'whatshisname.' The OL sucks.

I agree - Sidney Rice is in a better situation now that Frerotte is the starter.
