WR Tyler Lockett, TEN (2 Viewers)

This dude's efficiency is just unimaginably insane.

Lockett has now been targeted 4+ times in each of the last 6 games.  In 5 of those 6 games he caught EVERY SINGLE PASS HE WAS TARGETED ON.  And it's not like it was a bunch of check-downs or something as his YPR over that span is 14.1.

I only own him in one league but I am just in awe of how good this dude is.  He just vacuums in every pass that is anywhere near him.  This guy is Antonio Brown without the volume.

This. I can only imagine the numbers he(and Wilson for that matter) would put up in a more aggressive/creative offense. Sometimes Wilson throws to him and he looks like he's covered and yet he somehow almost always comes up with a catch in those situations.

Just an amazing player.

Tyler Lockett snagged 13 catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 18 targets Sunday in the Seahawks’ Week 9 win over Tampa Bay.

Lockett was completely un-coverable, assuming multiple forms against a Bucs secondary that had no answer for him. Whether it was underneath routes or deep shots from cannon-armed Russell Wilson, Lockett could do whatever he wanted and there was nothing Jamel Dean (who was put through the ringer on Sunday) or anyone else wearing Tampa Bay colors could do about it. He roasted the Bucs for 49 yards and a touchdown on the opening drive and never took his foot off the gas. If fantasy leagues counted style points he'd get a few for skying over Dean on a breathtaking third-quarter touchdown, his second of the afternoon. Between Lockett, Hulk impersonator DK Metcalf and newcomer Josh Gordon, Seattle's current receiving crop is an embarrassment of riches for Russell Wilson. The Seahawks will have to bring their A game to San Francisco (still undefeated) in Week 10.

Joe Fann @Joe_Fann

Tyler Lockett has a career-high 59 receptions with seven games (!!) to play.

He is on pace for 104 receptions and 1,363 yards, both would be single-season franchise records.

(h/t @seahawksPR)

Locket is currently on pace for 128 targets 104 targets 1363 yards 11 TD and right now is WR 3 in PPR leagues.

These numbers are close to Doug Baldwins best season in 2015 where he had 125 targets 94 receptions 1128 yards and 7 TD

Lockets efficiency numbers haven't gone down with the increased volume as usually happens. He is catching 81.9% of his targets and 10.6 yards per target thats pretty nuts.

Lockett is exceeding his already high career efficiency numbers of 72.7% catch rate and 10.2 yards per target.

Its beautiful. I hope he can keep it up.

This guy is my favorite player right now. Hilarious that people cited his efficiency as a red flag before season.

Kinda feel like no matter what this dude does people will think of him as a solid WR3/WR4. Even if he literally finishes as the 3rd or 4th best WR overall.

My outlook for him has always been very positive, even as a rookie prospect he stood out to me.

For this season I pretty much expected him to get the volume that Baldwin used to get. He is doing that in spades.

From a purely analytic perspective its reasonable to expect efficiency stats to decline somewhat with more volume. Most of the time that is what happens. I somewhat doubt anyone aware of how efficient as Lockett and Wilson have been previously saw that as a negative. Most con arguments against Lockett from my perspective had to do with them being a running team and that Wilson wouldn't throw the ball enough.

The defense isnt what it was so Wilson has to throw the ball more whether Pete wants to or not.

Viola!! Locket is a WR one.

Ugh. Still kicking myself for catching rookie fever and pretty much dealing him straight up for Anthony Miller before 2018 season. I still guess I did better than the guy who traded me Lockett for a third during the 2017 season, but small consolation.

I was one of those guys.   I drafted him as my WR2 and was really unhappy that he fell to me.   Figured he would be on the bench after a few weeks and only be used during bye weeks.   Not sure why I thought he was just a speed guy?

Read early on in the thread.

Definitely not just a speed guy although that is part of his skill set.

Folks were comparing his route running to Antonio Brown before he even played a down in the NFL.

3 year keeper league starting with picks in the 4th round. Wanted Godwin but he went the pick before me... settled for Lockett. 😍

Does anyone worry that Josh Gordon may eat into his targets some? What do you think Gordon's impact on target distribution will be?

I suspect he will take up more targets than David Moore or Jaron Brown was commanding...but I dont think it will result in a notable drop off in production for Lockett. May move some coverage off of him actually.

Not sure why I didn't believe in him.   I'm not the only one either.

Thanks for making me feel stupid by the way.    I really don't need much help.
Lol not my intent at all GB!!

I'm kicking myself a bit for missing out on him in a few leagues when I knew better. How dumb is that?

Some other Lockett lovers who did beat me to the punch.

This was a guy I nearly dropped a few years ago in dynasty too. Glad I didn’t.

‘16 and ‘17 were disappointing. I think he was hurt though.

I traded for Lockeft last November. Gave up Curtis Samuel, Mark Andrews and a future 2nd round pick that turned out to be Justice Hill.

Although those other three guys are showing a lot of promise, I would make that trade today.  Lockett is a WR1 and knowing that you can count on 15-20 points from that position weekly is really valuable.

Amazing that I drafted him as my WR4/O-Flex in the 6th. To be fair it’s an IDP league, and LB/DL start going off the board in the 5th, but still...I had him as a 4th round value. He’s been my best, most consistent receiver. Having taken Adams (1.08), Hill (2.05) and Amari Cooper (3.08) I never would have expected Lockett to out-perform all 3 of those guys.

I'm sure one or several of those 3 will have higher scoring games on any given Sunday, but Lockett has been, well, a lock. and he’s a huge part of why I’m 7-2. Wish I’d taken Wilson too.

I am in awe of him every week.  I traded Derrick Henry for him straight up in a dynasty league where I badly needed WR depth, and now he's winning me weeks as a WR1 in my WR2 spot....best trade I ever made!

Listed as limited with a hip last two days. Since they don't play until Monday, today's status is key.
Two days? I thought it only just popped up on Friday.

just checked all the updates & the only reference is the Friday report.

fingers crossed for clarity before MNF, but I have a hard time believing he’s going to miss this game.

ETA, yep, Friday:

by RotoWire Staff

(14 hrs ago) Lockett was limited at Friday's practice due to a hip injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Lockett is making a sudden appearance on the Seahawks' practice report, indicating he may have picked up the concern at Friday's session.

The Seattle team site had him as limited Thursday as well. Wonder if many of the fantasy sites just missed it the first time? There were a few posts on Reddit about it.

There are zero peeps or concerns out there in fantasy land right now. Doesn't seem to be on anyone's radar.

Really need some indication here if there's risk by 1pm tmrw since this game is Monday night. Plan B would have to be D. Samuel, D. Pettis, J. Brown type situation.

When it popped up on sportsline last nigh I googled it & found the official team report - there was concern expressed over several injuries.

They even dedicated a paragraph to Josh Gordon’s ankle injury.

the Locket update got 1 sentence.

At least you have a plan B.

I guess I have LMurray to pop in ag flex if word comes down before Sunday’s early games that he’s out.

I’d bet he plays. If this were a big deal we’d be hearing a lot more about it. He didn’t miss practice, and he’s listed a questionable.

Good to go. I figured they’d make a much bigger deal of it if it was anything serious.

Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Cleared for Monday

by RotoWire Staff
(1 hr ago) Lockett (hip) does not carry an injury designation for Monday's contest against the 49ers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Despite a lengthy list of injured players following Friday's practice, almost every member of the Seahawks enters Monday's pivotal contest without an injury designation, including Lockett. It's unclear if Josh Gordon (ankle), will be available Monday, but even if the newly signed wide receiver were to play, he's unlikely to cut significantly into Lockett's worklaod. Through nine games, the 27-year-old is easily expected to set a career high in receiving yards, and has already surpassed his previous high in receptions (57).

SF is a good defense compared to Tampa Bay.
SF is a good defense compared to most of the league.

it’ll be interesting to see how the Niners front four does against Wilson & an OL that’s sometimes shaky. SF secondary is good, but can be burned (ala Sherman allowing that 88 yard TD) -  but the secondary is a hell of a lot better when the opposing QB is looking out his earhole.

If Wilson can evade the pass rush & not run into sacks, this will be a shoot out. without pressure, the Niners secondary looks pretty pedestrian at times.

i’m gonna be torn up watching this game - opponent (raiders fan) has Emmanuel Sanders & Coleman, and I’ve (Niners fan) got Lockett, Carson, K.J & Wright. Imma have to bite my tongue if my dudes do well & cheer through gritted teeth if his dudes do well. Have to hope I’m far enough ahead that it won’t matter, but that’s rarely the case.

should be an epic game though - really looking forward to it.

who woulda thought the Niners would be undefeated headed into this week? Incredible.

The niners are a really good team across the board.   I'm glad Lockett can go but I don't expect much.

Would you start Kirk vs TB over him?  I’m tempted.
Nope.

i would dance with the girl that brought me.

Lockett has been MONEY every game this year. I will bench him when the season is over. And maybe not even then.

lockett is my ride or die.
