WR Tyreek Hill, MIA (4 Viewers)

I think Kelce with have some of that steak as well.
Gotta be honest but I think Kelce is going to take a little hit to his numbers this season. I think both Tyreek (because of his awesome) and Watkins (because...maybe?) will siphon some of his market share.

I could be wrong but I think Mahomes is wired to either put up the 50:50 ball deep (which is a 200:0 ball to Tyreek) or dump off to the RB. I think that hurts Kelce just a little bit.

I think Hill is going to be the primary beneficiary to having Mahomes as QB.  Great arm.  Is being encouraged to throw interceptions (I have never heard so many people forgiving interceptions he hasn't even thrown yet).  The defense is not as good as last year (eye balling).  I think Hill has a better year.  The Chiefs, probably not so much.

Watkins is nothing but unfulfilled potential at this point.  Every stop he makes is the same, he doesn't produce.  Hill will be eating steak and Watkins will be getting whatever table scraps are left over.
You can't really say that when he single-handedly carried my entire team to the Fantasy Championship game 3 years ago.  He CAN be enormously productive, but he doesn't seem to do well opposite even a competent (Robert Woods) partner.

I mean, congrats on your championship and his half a season of good production 3 years ago...  but I've ridden his hype train yearly, so I know first hand what it's like to own him, and outside of that stretch 3 YEARS AGO, he's been a consistently disappointing hype queen.

And people continue to draft him. And I continue to laugh.

I will say if you actually did this, that is a ballsy move, and unnecessary too, couldn't you have both? I mean if you take Odell at 1.08, tyreek is certainly there in round2, perhaps round3....
I value tyreek over ODB. A fat and happy ODB doesn't excite me. Yes you couod get them both but ill pass on ODB, grab a RB, and take tyreek in the 2nd.

Got Hill tonight at 3.10 in a ten team redraft, for anyone still hoping he slides to the back of the 3rd. I had him queued up and I think I hit the Draft Player button before the previous pick had been entered yet.

We did have Rodgers, Brady, and Wilson go in the first 2.5 rounds though, so that helped contribute to the slide. But don’t underestimate people that overvalue QBs, esp if it’s 6 pt pass TD.  Happens to me in multiple leagues every year...

That’s rather early for a 10-teamer. 30th overall? Was Davonte Adams there? Or Michael Thomas?

This makes no sense at all.  As if OBJ doesn't have a big play history.  Good luck with your team.  I think it'll take you two weeks to regret this (if you actually did it...which I doubt).
First of all, I don’t have any reason to make false claims, what do I have to gain? OBJ has been great, but this is this year and I have reservations about him. Injuries, old Eli, more weapons/less targets, always seems to be angry with the team, just got his big contract (although not at draft time).

You can insult my bold move but don’t insult my integrity.

There were some keepers off the board, so not round 3. I may have been able to wait until rd 2 but I wanted my guy.

Yea I actually did this. I also traded mike Thomas for hill/jamaal williams this offseason.

I mean really guys, why would I post this if I didn’t do it? So I can be ridiculed?

I got him @ 3.09 in a ten teamer too (non-ppr). Started my draft with Gordon and Fournette, so I'm happy. Yahoo's "analysis" gave me a C-, but that happens every year.

Adams, Thomas, Evans, Green were all gone by 3.10. WR choices there were Hill, Hilton, Diggs, Thielen, and Baldwin
Good choice. Diggs would have been my only other consideration, but Hill has the better upside & less injury history.

Curious what RBs were available & who you got on the way back?

I am in a league that has huge bonuses for long TDs and I am about to take him at 19 overall (assuming he is there) over at least some of Green, Allen, Thomas, D.Freemen, Evans, Adams, and Hilton.

I ended up going Hill and Hilton with the double picks (3.10 & 4.01) over Drake/Mixon/Collins/Henry. Opted for Hilton over the Minny WRs slightly just because of the 1a/1b uncertainty with Cousins there

I'd take Diggs. They are paying Watkins (foolishly, of course) and will try to feed him.
When they get in the huddle do you think Mahomes says "Hill, I know you have been open all game, but Watkins makes the most so I am going to throw to him this play"?

Open receivers get targets.  I think Watkins could have a good year, but he doesn't scare me off Hill.

I think Hill's upside hinges on how bad KC's defense is. If it's as bad as it looks then hoo boy.

Hill>>Thielen>Diggs>>>Hilton=Baldwin
I regret using multiple greater than signs.

Diggs >>> Thielen is one that could use some unpacking. Most folks have them fairly close.
Yeah, I knew using multiple greater than signs was a bad idea.

I think Diggs is more talented than Thielen, I think Cousins and Diggs have shown a chemistry in the preseason that I expected to take more time form (they look like they've been pulling off those back shoulder throws for years) and very recently Thielen hurt his foot in practice and we don't know the exact severity of the injury. If Diggs plays a full 16 I think he'll command a larger target share than Thielen but I know that's a big if with Diggs.

Thielen never going to be valued right. Even if he out targets Diggs again. He just looks cooler doing less and he was drafted.

Id take Hill but not by a mile, more like a half mile.

Hill >> Diggs = Hilton >>>> Thielen > Baldwin

Does that math look right?
That's fair enough, but for me I'm not drafting any of those other names, even though they have similar value. For me it's Hill or a RB there. Probably Drake or Henry.  Cooper is a possibility as well.  Tonight I did an MFL 10 where McKinnon fell to the late 3rd and I'd consider him there, too.

I don't dislike those other guys so much, it's just that in that spot in the draft if I don't love the guy I'm not drafting them.

This was my thinking when I took Hill and Hilton at the 3/4 turn double picks.

Re: Diggs vs Thielen. I honestly think this is because nobody knows which one is the 1 and which is the 2. Same reason why Carson and Penny are being ranked right next to each other. Everyone is hedging by saying “they’re pretty equal right now” when they really mean “they’re both good but I have no clue which will be better”. I went with hilton just because of that uncertainty, and because with a healthy Luck, we’ve seen Hilton lead the league in rec yards before

Not me. I think it’s pretty clear - Diggs should be putting up WR1 numbers. When healthy he’s done so and clearly outperformed Thielen. But he’s had some groin & hammy issues through his career that have limited him.

Thielen is a PPR monster who’s proven to be a reliable target, and he’ll Hoover them up. That makes him far more valuable in PPR formats than standard.

But given good health - if we knew Diggs would play 16 games - I would rank him right there with Michael Thomas & Keenan Allen. But we don’t yet know if that’s going to be the case, so he his value / ADP takes a hit.

i don’t see this as a radical opinion - Diggs is an elite WR sometimes held back by injury. Thielen is an above average WR with good hands who was made really valuable in a certain format by the way they used him last year, and IMO he’s being overdrafted since we don’t really know how his team will use him.

i sheepishly spent a 5.01 on him since he fell that far, but I’m concerned he won’t live up to that valuation. He might - but IMO Diggs is a better fit for Cousin’s arm

one hot sauce guy’s opinion.

If OBJ gets injured his Tyreek pick might look good.  Still an awful decision to bet on an injury but it can work out occasionally.
Not betting on an injury, but feel he won’t have the target share he has had in years past, has a noodle armed QB, maybe have a running game that can score a td.

If I’m wrong I don’t think it’s going to be by a large margin of points.

Yes, it’s a bold move. Let’s see how it plays out.
