WSL 1 Draft Discussion (1 Viewer)

QB: Rivers

RB: CJ2k, Lynch

WR: Bryant, Harvin, Williams (Sea), Smith (Car)

TE:

Big mistake on my part...should have taken Cooley at the last turn and passed on Williams. The dropped was steeper at TE than WR between my picks. Didn't expect TE to get picked over quite that hard and expected more WRs to get snapped up.

Really liking my squad otherwise. My WRs will be potent in a BB format and CJ / Lynch is about as good as it gets when you have a stud QB.

QB - Matt RyanQB - Sam BradfordRB - Arian FosterRB - Ryan TorainWR -Desean JacksonWR- Dwayne BoweTE- Tony Gonzalez
Bradford - I have him projected for 4000 passing yards next season...I'm not kidding. Went over a round earlier in the other 2 drafts.Torain - could finish top 10 or could miss 10 games, my first risk/reward pick of the draft.

Good on paper, but a lot of your guys miss games.I'd like this squad more if it was redraft.
intersting comment. Sometimes when I draft a re-draf team and I look at it i feel like I drafted an awesome Survivor team and not a re-draft. I've missed my targtes by 1 pick a couple of times, this team has a solid base though. Obviously injuries can cripple anyone

I just don't get his comment. Guys missing games is fine in BB format. To early to tell if it's a good survivor team. Of course this is a re-draft league and not dynasty...you guys are using weird terminology.

yeah the real terms we should be using is best ball vs traditional league I guess.

My team so far

QB - Josh Freeman

RB - Hillis and Moreno

WR - Roddy White, Colston, and Collie

TE - J. Gresham

anyone at FBG know why its so hard to edit hte thread now that we are in round6.

For some reason when I edits the 6th round when I go to highlight the player incolor, it jumps me all the way back up top. ####in stupid editor
Just a guess here;1) The draft thread is approaching 200 posts,

2) Comments (aka, like this) in the draft thread up that total.

Wasn't there a deal where the guys with phones wanted to reduce the post counts for download purposes, i.e start a new thread after about 4-5 rounds? And isn't there a stated standard request to eliminate the chat in the draft thread?

Please see Owner's Manual .

My team so far UPDATE

QB - Josh Freeman

RB - Hillis and Moreno

WR - Roddy White, Colston, and Collie

TE - J. Gresham and Olsen

Huge Jacoby Ford fan, really came on at the end of last year, his rookie season. Has the makings for DeSean Jackson II if he can get any kind of steady QB play. Outstanding pick ACP.

Do we always have that kind of QB2 run in this draft? That run was deep.
From the other league...6.05 Blue Kun - Matt Cassell, QB17, Kansas City This is pretty typical in the WSLs since so many things are up in the air. It might be a little exaggerated this year since the are 2-3 more question marks than usual and not much in the draft class.

I liked Sniffer's Deion Branch pick...he was on my short list where I took Torain.

easy value pick there

I had BJGE ready to go too.

Seems to me the RB value slides and slides.

THe thing that scared me was that with the pats First 3 picks thye could snag a RB.

He went in round 3 in wsl2 and round 5 in wsl3. Value

Agree....1) that he was huge value there......Assuming he re-signs with them, he IS a free agent2) there is a chance with all those picks they might well try and get their RB of the future3) even assuming he is back and has the same role, the # of TDs is not repeatableIF I had been more confident of those and not as attracted to the continuing value of Woodhead especially in a PPR league, LawFirm would have been higher on the draft board....

Considered him when i took Smitty.
Safe pick IMOSwung for the fences with my Demaryious Pick on the way back around.
Much prefer Branch. Too many WRs in Denver and a good chance that Tebow is chucking the rock. Much rather have Brady's WR1a/b. Ohh...and lest I forget, John Fox likes vets and dislikes scoring.

need that balance between safe picks and home runs. Demaryious is a talented chap, I dont see how he doesnt start for Denver, now will they use him properly??? Can Tebow get him the ball?? who knows

J. Cutler

R. Mendenhall

M. Forte

B.J. Green-Ellis

V. Jackson

A. Boldin

M. Thomas

D. Keller

Much riskier than my normal survivior league drafts. I normally go with guys I think are "safe' players, but all that's got me lately is mid round boots.

Everyone is down on Cutler because of his NFCC performance, but he'll still be there next year & will have another year in Martz's offense. I'll take him as the 14th QB off the board. QB 2 will be an issue for me.

Couldn't pass on Mendy @ 1.10. Forte is a relatively safe pick, but I'm all ready guaranteed one bye week conflict with Cutler & Forte. BJGE has boom or bust potential, but I think NE is happy with their Ren & Stimpy backfield and won't use a high pick on a RB.

Vincent Jackson is the ultimate boom/bust. If he plays a full season in SD, 3.10 is great value. Boldin's 2nd year with Flacco should improve his #s & Mike Thomas looks to be an 80 catch/yr candidate.

Bet big on Edwards or Holmes leaving & Keller filling the void. Time will tell. Really irked at myself that I didn't take M. Lewis here though. He is a very gifted athlete & is coming into his own.

Right there with you...QB FlaccoRB Gore DWillWR Austin H.Ward Braylon J.JonesTE Owen DanielsWhatever I do in SSL will look nothing like this. I never play WSL and this isn't all my picks but I helped select enough of them. Just glad to see where the runs are for later drafting. Wish there was something between WSL and SSL...Brunch perhaps.

There is. It's called the PDSLs aka pre NFL draft survivor leagues. They start in about two months give or take.

QB: Rivers

RB: CJ2k, Lynch

WR: Bryant, Harvin, Williams (Sea), Smith (Car)

TE: Celek

D: Pitt

Dodged a bullet at TE. I'm comfortable with him in a TEBC approach. Pitt D was a key cog in my championship last year. I can make up lost production at TE with a solid D tandem.

Here were my scores last year...13, 28, 15, 27, 19, 12, 14, 6, 9, 12, 20, 23, 8, 27, 21, 16, 146 20 pt wks, only 3 single digit weeks, 16.7 pts/wk average

Ryan Grant - will be the GB starter next year which makes him a top 15 RB by default barring injury, Brandon Jackson isn't as good between the tackles and Kuhn...well, Kuhn is KuhnDavone Bess - kid is a player...average 70 receptions his first three years in the league...not too many WRs do that. Is it obnoxious that I always love my picks?

sort of...I think Celek threw up two goose eggs in the last five weeks...Vick never looks for the guy.
One of those weeks they rested the starters. The other weeks were 0, 13, 17, and 30. Everything except for his targets were in line with historical numbers. I agree with your statement, but think Vick will have to improve his mastery of the position to take the next step. If Vick can get a handle on more plays, Celek should see more targets.

Grant - LOL, there's a reason why he lasted this long.Bess - One 20 pt week last year, 5 15 pt wks, 10 wk < 15 pts. Not exactly the guy you want in a best ball league. Love him in standard leagues, but there were several guys better suited for this format on the board.

This deep in the draft I'll take 70+ receptions. As for Grant, he slipped this long because people forgot they were drafting him in the 2nd round last year. I think the only real scare here is if they go after a FA RB, which I don't think they will given Jackson's steady play down the stretch.

Have you even been watching the games or did you turn off the TV when all the West Coast teams stunk up the joint this year?eta - I don't think it's a bad pick. This is about where he should be going in a draft where RBs have been falling across the board. He's more of gamble then you're admitting to.

Was hoping to grab him on the way back, but would rather have Starks if I have the choice of the 2.
