WTB an in-ground basketball hoop (or goal). Doesn't need to be adjustable. Doesn't Shake. Doesn't cost 3 grand. (1 Viewer)

Been looking at these for awhile but havent found anything that isnt too expensive or crappy quality.

Any suggestions?

Prefer -

60" backboard but larger larger is preferred.

Not adjustable

In ground

Isn't a $3k pole with a $500 backboard.

Totally open to buying a dope backboard ala carte and building my own pole.

I got the middle of the road goal at academy years ago.  Set the bottom half of the pole in ground then poured quickcrete and some water down in it and let it set over night.  Kept the shake down to a minimum but didn't completely eliminate it.

Just got a goaliath from D!ck's for about $700-$800.  Good quality so far.  3 foot hole filled with bags of quickcrete wasn't too bad of a project.

Goalzilla has several that are under $1,000.  Their quality is excellent.

But you might have to call it a "goal" if you do get it from there.

I love how the link you yourself provide has in big bold letters

BASKETBALL HOOPS

But then again, they call their site Goalrilla, so they seem a bit confused.

Unsure on which goal to buy. But once you buy one, if some kids ask to take the goal over to play one on one while you’re shooting goals I suggest you just let them.

Thanks, your link in the other thread inspired this thread. All of those are unnecessarily adjustable and have small backboards.
Regulation 72x42 backboards are almost always designed for indoor use. Outdoor versions will be expensive because of the heavy duty hardware required. Wind is no problem for 54s, a bit of a problem for 60s, a big problem for 72s.

They are almost always adjustable so they can be lowered when not in use. This protects the hardware from wind damage. Wall mounted 72s make better sense and are far more affordable. You just need a suitable wall that hopefully provides a wind break.

I've had a 72" Goalzilla for 23 years. It's on its 3rd backboard. They warp.
