WW Team Defense week 7 (1 Viewer)

bah cin is on a bye this week

theyve come through the last two weeks. not sure about washington anymore. their corners cant cover anything

I like HOU this weekend
Can I ask why? They've had one good fantasy game and that came in Week 1. Mario Williams is out for the season since he's been out Jason Campbell beat them and Joe Flacco threw for more than 300 yards against them. I own them and am strongly thinking about dropping them this week. I just don't see any upside anymore. Am I missing something?

Especially going on the road against a division team coming off the bye. I can't find any angle where the Texans are a good week 7 defensive play

Rolling with N'awlins this week home against Indy. For the gamblers (or desperate) out there, Denver might be a sneaky play that's sure to be on most every league's WW.

I thought HOU DEF for the most part played BALT very well and was all over Flacco and if they play as well vs TEN, HASS will have a lot of problems. This is also a division game and a must win for HOU. 300 yards passing isn't much now anyway, look at STL vs GB as prime example.

ill probably drop them this week, but Im starting to feel like they will be my weekly D from here on out (assuming I can get them back). They appear legit this year.

Already been cut, but I had the luxury of owning Baltimore D. Still, I see no reason (aside from really juicy matchups) to lean on Houston at this point. I think either D in that Browns / Seahawks matchup has a good chance at solid production. Two anemic offenses and both DSTs have pretty dynamic return specialists should translate to plenty of opportunity for Cribbs +/- Leon.Definitely Dallas if you can get them, but the same can be said for St. Louis with the rate of turnovers in Dallas so far. KC vs. Boller should be an ok option, too, but they're only average against the run so a stacked box isn't a guarantee they'll be good. I have one league w/San Diego on the wire, which would be a great option coming off their bye week to face the Jets.

HOU recovered a fumble, sacked Flacco twice that could have been a few more. Made him hurry a lot. Also 1 INT.

The Packers' defense, though, has generally been awful this season. I posted last week that I expected Bradford to put up good yardage against them. That shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. Where they have made up for it in fantasy terms most weeks is in terms of forcing turnovers and/or scoring on defense or special teams. Outside of Week 1, the Texans haven't scored a touchdown on defense or special teams. Their sack total hasn't been anything special outside of one game and they are allowing 27 points per game since losing Mario Williams. Not only did Flacco pass for more than 300 yards but Rice ran for more than 100. I'm not seeing anything they're doing particularly well right now.

I wouldn't start them if this wasn't a BYE week for a number of teams. A lot of suggestions in this thread the DEF should already be on someone's roster. DAL, really? I'm in a 10 team league and they were picked up last week.

chargers vs jets maybe?
That's who I'm targeting to replace the Texans although I'll admit I'm doing this primarily because the Texans have done nothing since Week 1 and I'm hoping a change will get me some defensive production. San Diego hasn't been very good in terms of fantasy scoring either. But the matchup isn't bad although there's the whole "West Coast team traveling to the East Coast" thing going on there.

I know it's early but this is HOU season. I would much rather start them than SD going to Jets who are in crisis mode. Also in my 10 team league SD is already rostered.

KC vs Oak if it ends up Boller or another QB with no experience in their system may be worth a look.
THIS if you can't get DallasObviously you would like to play teams not likely available but JIC, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, and Baltimore have very nice matchups

me too packer.not much out there this week. we will get a chance to see how miami looks against them tonight.also was looking at saints at home vs indy, but painter isn't as bad as i thought and saints d look horrible.they are at home in the dome though...

Contemplating a few:

Denver v Miami

SD v NYJ

(Curious to watch MNF and see how both NYJ and Mia play)

and KC v OAK.

Tennessee on my waiver wire, not a great match up v Houston, but I'm wondering if it's dumb to leave them out there.

Quasi nice matchup (it is at the black hole); terrible defense. They give up yards, points, can't get to the quarterback and don't cause turnovers. If I had to choose one or the other, I'd go with Oakland.

A few weeks ago I thought the Saints would be a good play week 7, but after watching them whiffing or getting run over too frequently, I'll be looking elsewhere. Sad to see an entire defensive unit that seems unwilling to stick their noses in to actually tackle a ball carrier.

Neither available in my league. What I am looking at is CLE vs. SEA, TBB vs. CHI, CAR vs. WAS and TEN vs. HOU
Pretty much the same in my league. Also KC but even with Boller you still gotta respect DMC. Going for Broncos or Browns.
Agree on those two if Dallas or Oakland aren't available. If your league favors sacks and turnovers over scoring/yards, Arizona vs. Pittsburgh could be a desperation play, though Roethlisberger has looked better lately.

I've got the Skins against Carolina. I like their chances for INTs and scrambling sacks against Newton. Debating whether to drop them for Dallas.

I'm #12 in my waiver wire order, so I'm going to not put in a claim and take the best that's out there. If they aren't picked up, it looks like I'll be hoping for Denver.

Here are the options in my league...

Titans (Texans)

Bucs (Bears)

Falcons (Lions)

Cardinals (Steelers)

Seahawks (Browns)

Colts (Saints)

Jaguars (Ravens)

Broncos (Dolphins)

Chargers (Jets)

Panthers (Redskins)

Rams (Cowboys)

Dolphins (Broncos)

Chiefs (Raiders)

I bolded the only teams that I think are even worth a shot. If I can't get one of those three, I think I may be better off picking up a bye week team that someone drops and take the 0. I think all the others have a serious chance at getting negative points.

What about TB's Def against Cutler??? TB's playing better, rushing the QB better, maybe a "London Fog Factor" and Cutler's about due for one of his "Bad Cutler" games!!!! What say you????

Hoping for some more conversation on this subject? I have most of the same option's as y'all but I also have the Charger's D available...another "tricky" week for waiver D's!

I just picked up the Broncos. Not a bad defense, coming off a bye and facing Matt Moore who threw two picks (albeit to a NYJ stud DST). I thought about OAK, but KC is coming off of a bye and their first win). Saints just came available. Painter doesn't scare anybody, but he is accurate with the throws underneath. Think I'll stick with Denver. Maybe Tebow provides a spark to the team?

i did the same thing going with denver.had planned on chargers, but just felt a bit safer with denver.matt moore has thrown some int's, bailey and dawkins are playing, so hoping for the best.

Picked Up San Diego cause the jets look atrocious and Sanchize is a joke.I tried for the Broncos but got outbid.

Hope you picked them up and played them.

I'm going to drop them which probably means they'll score at least one TD for you. :)
Hope you picked them up and played HOU defense...just scored a TD
Should be a good play as well Week 8 if you are in a bind since they play at home vs. JAC
Then they also play CLE, then @ TB

Kind of funny, I think this was the only pick of the Chiefs. Example of groupthink perhaps; KC with a newfound run game, improving defense and some room to make ground in the AFC West vs Boller or Palmer coming in fresh off the couch would have made sense.6 INT's, 1 Sack, 2 INT returns for TD's, + a SHUTOUT. That was one of the best plays of the year most likely, missed it.
