Why would someone buy an inferior console for $100 more?
STEADYMOBBIN doesn't know a single person that owns a PS3? I found that unbelievable until I realize that I don't know a single xbox owner. So I guess it's possible.
Well I did know 4 xbox guys and they are all PS4 guys now.
In all fairness there ARE reasons to buy a Xbone, but the are very narrow appeal reasons and not the core audience reasons which are video games.
Here are the reasons to pay more money for a less powerful gaming system.
1. You don't want a game system you want a pass through hub
2. You love voice commands and gesture motion controlled games
3. You use your console more for tv, skype and stuff than gaming
4. You are the kind of person who would buy a crappier stereo because it plays that one song you love Halo
In my opinion Microsoft seems to have been completely oblivious to the reactions of consumers last gen. The reason the 360 was successful last gen was it was less expensive, a good game machine(when it worked) and first to market. Sony tried the whole center of the living room thing last time and the PS3 and found people weren't willing to pay more for the entertainment features. The bottom line is MS has made a more expensive less appealing console, all of the PR and policy blunders just brought to the spotlight a scrutinizing of the consoles and the consumers KNEW everything and M$ ####ed itself.
M$ literally has taken all the failures of the PS3 and rolled them into the xbone, whereas Sony has heard almost every complaint about the PS3 and made them disappear. The PS4 in my opinion is a perfected PS3. It has nothing earth shattering, that will blow you mind except the "smoothness" of it if you will. The PS4 is a seamless smooth experience and every little load screen, annoyance with chat and and gaming is just gone.
Bottom line PS4 is a smooth beast of a gaming console. Sony was pissed when it lost it's PS2 strangle hold and they are not ####### around this gen.
There ARE reasons to get a xbone, just not good reasons. Microsoft was asleep at the wheel this round and the sales prove it. Informed gamers are choosing the PS4.
