Sounds like something I have to rub on my skin to keep it from inflaming.

Maybe I'll just rub in more of it and satisfy that itch.

Xochitl!

Are you referring to Xochitl Gomez, the 16 y.o.actress who was phenomenal in Dr. Strange?

I don't know. Am I?

I would have to say yes, considering that's what the article then says. The headline simply read something about Xochitl, and got me to click on it becuase it sounded like something medical I should be aware of.

Strange...

I was so shocked to see this name just now.  I've only ever heard it or seen it one other time. I went to high school with a girl named Xochitl.  We called her "Ex-O-Chittle" for fun. She pronounced it "Sotchie"

I have a business contact, she said it's pronounced Zo-Chee. Same as yours.

It's far, far from politically correct to cop to it these days, but I can sympathize with you: Unusual names/expressions can be somewhat grating to me, too. "Grating" is really too strong a word for it, but I can't think of a neutral or pleasant term for that little mental "Really?" that springs forth upon hearing/reading an unusual name or the hottest new slang.

I still think Dakota is a weird name for a kid though it's been a thing for a long time. Same with the Caden/Aidan/Raiden/Faiden/Haden/Aden/Aden/Aden names that have been WAY overused over the past 20 years or so. But, all the same -- I know that I'm way outvoted in American society regarding this matter, so I just keep it to myself. Guess I'm feeling chatty at the moment.
