If you have a draft on the lame site that is Yahoo tonight, bail. (serious) I cannot begin to describe the multiple issues we are having with multiple leagues irght now while we try to figure it out

 
We had one night everyone could draft and now we are ####ed. Been using the site for 10 years and this will be the last.

 
Our first one it randomly kicked somebody out after 3 rounds and wouldn't let them back in, then autodrafted the rest of our teams while most of us were live drafting.

The next one it jumbled the draft order. Like, regular snake, but it didn't do the snake right. The #1 overall pick in a 12 team league had the #17 pick (2.05) also, for example.

Seriously this is a pain in the mother ####### ###

 
Interesting. I've done dozens of mock drafts throughout the offseason with zero issue.

Are you using the 'Classic Draft Room'? (They did update to a new version a few weeks ago that isn't the best, but I just still used their Classic version w/o issue)

I tried to check my league site a couple hours ago and got some yahoo error msg

Yeah, I did a ####load of drafts there with no issues, as well as a real draft yesterday and two real drafts today.

But then Yahoo with #### up

 
I did a mock for a draft tomorrow night and didn't have any issues, but did get the error message. My fellow league mate just sent me a text and he can't even get into the mocks. Should be a fun day at the bar tomorrow... good thing for $1 beers. :hifive:

 
Missed a yahoo draft on Friday. My team got auto-drafted. Yahoo ranked my team as the #1 contender in my league. LOL

I really can't complain. Yahoo drafts a mean team if you just let them do all the work.

 
We got thru the draft without a hiccup. Few guys late getting in but made it before their pick. And a few auto drafters but not sure if that was them or yahoo

 
Completely and utterly ####ed our $250 draft tonight. Servers went down 15 minutes before the start of the draft. Spent 3 hours back and forth trying to get another league set up and now nothing. Just a monster headache and the league might get cancelled now. So unbelievably pissed.

Yeah on Thursday it wouldn't let our league draft at all. When it was supposed to start a message came up saying we missed our draft. It's been running like #### lately.

 
I joined a baseball run by some ########## at this site. I had only joined to see the settings. I did not like it and meant to leave and I had thought I left it. It turned I hadn't. Next thing I know, a week later I get an email about some baseball team I drafted at Yahoo. "Huh? I didn't join a Yahoo league. I signed up for a few just to look around but then removed myself." My reaction was something like that.

Two weeks into the season, I found a replacement owner. I brought him on as a co-owner and then kindly asked the commissioner to remove me. It would have taken the guy one minute to do this act of kindness. Instead, he locked both me and the replacement owner from doing anything the rest of the year. Neither one of us had done anything wrong aside from me not properly removing myself from the league when I had the chance.

The fact that Yahoo allows commissioners to do stuff like this is why I am done.

By the way, there is a Mister Moops in this league. Not sure if he is the commissioner or not. I think there is a Mister Moops at this forum. You might want to avoid playing with him.

I used Yahoo a few years back and their playoff bracketing was so screwed up I ended up going old school and finishingbthe league using nfl.com, paper and pencil.

Ran a hockey league on yahoo last year, it was a money league. The playoffs started and all was good. Half way through the playoff week a team who made the playoffs was unexplicably removed from the bracket and another team, who never set their line up because they didnt make the playoffs, was inserted. Long story short, I again had to go paper and pencil. Yahoo is the worst at the worst times.

Ive been having excellent luck at espn.com. all my leagues are there.

I would like to know the recommendation of others for completely casual leagues, and their reasoning. I run two of them, one for work colleagues and the other for golfing buddies. They do this for fun, need the projections cause they don't have the time nor inclination to evaluate players. The site needs to be simple, both for them and for the commissioner. And they're not about to pay to participate. I have played on many sites and find yahoo adequate for the casual league player.

They have been on yahoo for most of a decade. Last night was the first issue we've ever had, and it didn't effect everyone. And the discrepancy between the draft and their rosters was corrected by this morning.

 
I have been using yahoo leagues for almost a decade without any problems. I still haven't had either draft for my Yahoo leagues, so I hope they get their issues worked out.

Yahoo was once considered one of the most reliable free sites. I tried ESPN the first year they had it, and it was nothing but problems, and we had to go back to yahoo.

 
I have been using Yahoo since 2008. I had not experienced issues anywhere near this magnitude until last night. I moved exclusively to Yahoo for most leagues years ago after stupidly using Fox Sports and having tons of problems.

And I agree with the question above...who else do you recommend? People made snide remarks on SP last year about Yahoo users as well, and we asked "Who do you recommend that's free?"...I don't remember what the response was.

ESPN?

 
I had my draft at 8 last night on ESPN but I wanted to mock in Yahoo once I knew the draft order (ESPN doesn't let you mock 14 team leagues). Yahoo kept crashing and wouldn't let me log in, nevermind go and do a mock. Sad because I've been using them for years for my fun leagues.

 
I use Yahoo for a family league and we draft on the early side specifically to mitigate this sort of thing...

 
Someone told me they had a great draft experience with Yahoo a week ago, and said there was an app that let you do it mobile now. I wonder if these new mobile capabilities are the problem.

Someone on rededit was saying g they should just kill mocks to take the load off the server...

Yahoo says the engineers have identified the problem and are on it. You would think after doing this for so long they wouldn't have any problems.

Our draft went fine, never had a problem with the site. Not my preferred choice, but that is what one of my leagues (a keeper) has been using for the last 7 years with little to no problems. I hope things get resolved for ya ...

To the best of my knowledge, only one person could not get into the draft room last night. Since he is new to the league, and a friend of a regular in the league, I'm getting vibes to hold a do-over (which Yahoo is allowing). To me, that opens up far more worms than it solves. I'd love to resolve this in an amicable way, but the conversation is not converging to a resolution.

I would love to have a live draft, but that's not practical for the two leagues in my original post. It's online or nothing.

This was the last year we're drafting live. starting next year we'll be drafting via email with the commissioner entering picks as we go...

Last night was the first time I've ever had an issue with Yahoo.

What are they doing to fix the issue where everybody's team is ####ed?

The commish can reset the league and pick a new draft day. We are going to give it a try again tonight.
