Yahoo waivers question... (1 Viewer)

Son drafted a team with a group of his friends.  His first year in FF.

He waited to take TE and ended up with Burton and Graham who both play tonight.

He is going to drop one or both for a streaming D (he has Jax and there are a couple he would like better for this week) and the other he may drop to pick up a different TE to play.

The question is...with both of them playing tonight...and waivers running Saturday after his draft last night...will Yahoo allow him to pick up a D and TE and put them into his starting lineup.  Or because those spots would already have their games played tonight...will he not be allowed to pick someone up til waivers run again next Tuesday.  I can't seem to recall how that works with the Thursday night players if you don't have them in your actual lineup.

As long as they are not on your starting lineup I’m 99.9% sure you can drop them on yahoo

Depends on the commish settings. If waivers are locked Thu-Tue then you cannot drop players who have already played their games. That’s how I have our league setup.

There are three choices for waiver rule setups available:

- first game of the week until Tuesday

- Sunday until Tuesday

- Game Time until Tuesday 

In the first one, rosters are locked at 8:25 Thursday night. In the second, rosters are locked at 12:55 Sunday. In the third, 5 minutes before kickoff of each players game.

(ASIDE - there are two more, “none” and “continuous”, which is basically wide open, i.e., add/drop during games, no players are locked, etc. @sho nuff I hope your son is not in one of those.)

Yoi can find your league Waiver Rule under League Settings.

Ah ok. All 3 of mine are sun-tues.

Yeah, otherwise you’re wide open as soon as the draft ends. There’s one waiver run post draft then it’s FA until the first kickoff. But since he’s in a Sun-Tue league he’ll be able to drop the TE he doesn’t start tonight.
