Peak is Mickey and thats not close. Career would be closer if Joe D didn't miss out on several prime years due to WWII. Either way, its still the Mick though.

Mantle. People talk about DiMaggio missing time due to WWII, had Mantle had normal knees he would have broke all the records. Mantle hit two of the three longest HRs even hit at Tiger Stadium, people say the ball just sounded different off of his bat. He led the league in OPS+ eight times, Joe D did it once. Joe did have more RBIs than Mantle though, in 1300 less at bats no less, but Joe played on a lot of great teams. The Yankees of the 60s were meh, Mantle had guys like Tony Kubek and Tom Tresh hitting around him in the second half of his career.
