I think that's because the story is a couple days old, GB. Yesterday he went to TMZ and implied that 400 years of slavery was "a choice." It did not go over well.I'm stunned this has no comment yet.
Oh, okay. I apologize for starting this thread if this was already news. People did not choose to be in the slave trade. That's absurd.I think that's because the story is a couple days old, GB. Yesterday he went to TMZ and implied that 400 years of slavery was "a choice." It did not go over well.
Kanye's not doing anything interesting here IMO. It's more absurd because it's Kanye and he's a black rapper who made Yeezus it's because funny to watch Charlie Kirk misquote lyrics on instagram. But it's the same nonsense about freedom that many people been spewing for at least a decade: confusing freedom of thought, speech and action with freedom of thought, speech and action free of response or consequence.
I think it's a good thread subject, but it should probably go on the politics subforum. Also I think previous discussion of his recent weirdness was in the Kanye music thread maybe?Oh, okay. Thanks. I won't delete and will leave up for discussion. I've had a busy couple of days and was surprised this wasn't news.
That's why? I thought it was just a sarcastic side-off about Puerto Rico. I remember you saying that and me liking it. I should be more on top of it. Thanks for checking my head. And this is fine in the PSF, which is where I just posted a recent song that deals with politics. I just figured this was bigger than that.I think it's a good thread subject, but it should probably go on the politics subforum. I get the feeling it's bigger on twitter and celebrity gossip sites than in "real news," so maybe here the right place for it. Who knows? That's why? Fox News has been all over this.I get the feeling it's bigger on twitter and celebrity gossip sites than in "real news," so maybe here the right place for it. Who knows?
You know what's crazy? Is that I took your recommendation of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy...plus Eephus's draft pick of Nicki Minaj on Monster... and turned it into this internet cocktail.I get the feeling it's bigger on twitter and celebrity gossip sites than in "real news," so maybe here the right place for it. I'm sure he'll move on to some other outlandish attention-seeking path soon. I suspect most people's biggest concern is not being able to enjoy his music as much knowing he's a such a dumb###. Or maybe that's just me.
I thought he was trolling with that single but then he dropped the slavery comments and him comparing himself to Harriet Tubman. Now I think he is either just really dumb and self absorbed or manic depressive egomaniac.Poopy-di scoop

It doesn't seem like he's well. And that song sucks, irrespective of the views therein. This is Kanye West's new song about his latent support of the Republican Party/disappoint with the Dem Party -- and Trump, assumedly. Huh. This seems significant, both musically and politically. Maybe this belongs in the PSF. If you want, move it there.
