Yeremiah Bell - Risky pick on Waivers? (1 Viewer)

I need a solid DB4 for my dynasty league.

We start 3 DBs and I'm looking for an alternate starter. The best "projected" player available through waivers is Y Bell....I'm concerned about his injury prone career, specially in a Dynasty format....

Any insights on this guy?

He had an impressive preseason and Miami is reportedly looking to sign him long-term. I would not worry about the past injuries. He should get enough opportunities to be a viable fantasy DB.

Good posing. I'm going to latch on here and wait for a response.

I drafted Yeremiah as my DB2 (we start 2 in my league). I'm facing a difficult matchup in week 1 and I'm second guessing that decision, especially since Atoine Winfield is available.

(I would have posed in IDP Assistant Coach, but this thread already existed, so....)

I like Yeremiah overall, but I fear he will take a few weeks to come into his own, I guess it's just a gut feeling. Anxiously awaiting further insight into this guy....

Strong safeties form bad teams? Sign me up.

jason Allen played some SS last year, and put up very nice numbers last year. he is at FS now, with Bell at SS. I think Yeremiah is a top 15 S this season.

Jene, you recently said you didn't trust Bell beyond this year. Does the extension help anything there? Worth signing to a 2 yr deal instead of 1?

also a good sign is that Allen is playing at corner, that would only leave SS renaldo hill to steal snaps from bell!!!!!

Been a stud today with many of his 9 tackles so far running plays.
I'm pleased.Did anyone watch the game, how'd he look?
He was literally around the ball all day. I was switching between my pitiful Rams game and the local Jets game. If he wasn't standing over the pile, he was smack in the middle of it. Seemed to do well in coverage also. I think he's in for a huge year. The Fins D will be on the field quite a bit to boot.

Bell's up to 50 total tackles through six games; has he made it to "must-have" status yet? He's still available in a couple of my leagues, and it's getting tougher not to believe in him.

Yes!he is the leading tackler on the team and really only has to share the field with Crowder. A weak front seven means nothing but opportunity for him. He continues to pile on the tackles, and the only thing I can see slowing him down is an injury. I have been able to watch a few games this year and man he is everywhere the ball is, a true ball hawk. His average points per game puts him as the third best DB in my main league and should be around there for most scoring systems, especially tackle heavy leagues. IMO, This guy should not be available on any waiver wire, unless you can only hold a very small amount of defensive players. I would only put a select few to finish the year ahead of him baring injury.

We're seven weeks into the season now. Trends have long since been established and there were those who argued that Bell was a near lock for DB2 value before the season began. He's the second best DB in PPG in tackle heavy leagues and in a dead heat with Gibril Wilson as the the best overall safety in balanced leagues. His opportunity isn't declining, his level of play is consistent and he's got little competition for tackles. It'll be a major upset if he isn't a top ten (and possibly top five) DB if he remains healthy.
