most mock drafts are what people think will/could/might happen come draft day. instead, this mock is the calls i would make if i were running the show in each draft room, with an admittedly fantasy football lean.

im not much of an expert on many of the less-glamourous, non-skill players so i just listed them by position, meaning 'take the highest d-linemen on your board' for example.

let's hear opinions and/or post your own 1st round or your team's pick if you could make the calls.

1. Rams – QB Sam Bradford - really the only pick that makes sense for the Rams. when there's a Franchise QB available and you're lacking, that's what you should do. too much to pay for a DT anyways

2. Lions – DT Ndomkung Suh - fits perfectly with the HC

3. Bucs – WR Dez Bryant - replacement for Bryant? I could easily see the Bucs going after McCoy as they were so weak against the run last year

4. Redskins – LT

5. Chiefs – DT Gerald McCoy - if the Bucs take McCoy than the Chiefs should take Bryant to pair with Bowe

6. Seahawks – QB Jimmy Clausen - exactly what they need

7. Browns – S Berry - shouldn't fall any further, but i couldn't justify taking a S any earlier

8. Raiders – LB Rolando McClain - their smartest pick in years, thanks to their new GM

9. Bills – LT

10. Jacksonville – CB/S

11. Broncos – DT

12. Miami – DT/DE

13. 49ers – RB CJ Spiller - Coffee looks like a bust, and Gore + Spiller + shotgun spread could make this a top 5 offense

14. Seahawks – LT

15. NYGiants – S

16. Titans – DT/DE

17. 49ers – OT/OG/C

18. Steelers – OT/OG/C

19. Falcons – WR Damian Williams - great compliment for Ryan cos their WRs after White are pretty weak. Seems taylor-made to be a WR2

20. Texans – RB Jonathon Dwyer - 1st and 2nd down back, the only thing they lack on offense

21. Bengals - WR Golden Tate - need to upgrade the Coles/Caldwell position and Matt Jones isn't the long term answer

22. Patriots – RB Jahvid Best - dynamic weapon that will help the offense... imagine Brady, Moss, Tate, and Best

23. Packers – OT/OG/C

24. Eagles – LB Sean Witherspoon

25. Ravens – WR Demaryius Thomas - assuming they don't go after Marshall, this is the next big-body WR

26. Cardinals – TE Grishem - helps the run blocking for wells and a safety valve for leinart

27. Cowboys - OT/OG/C

28. Chargers – RB Ryan Matthews - do it all RB, could be the best situation for 2010 redraft

29. Jets – DT/DE

30. Vikings – OT/OG/C

31. Colts – QB Tim Tebow - thinking outside the box

32. Saints – DT Terrence Cody - improves the run defense

It wasn't the player but the position. I can't see them taking him in the 1st. Overall I think somewhere like Indy or NE would be brilliant for Tebow. I realise I probably should have made that clear in my first post!

I love it when fans of OTHER teams think Tebow would be a good fit for the Pats. Count me out. I don't want that guy any where near the Pats draft board before their 4th round pick. We have far too many needs. Drafting a developmental QB early is not where the team needs to go. I'll stick with Hoyer; dude seems to have great "intangibles" too. Let someone else grab the cheerleader.

OK so if you're Polian, what's your pick?

I like the Tebow pick for the colts because he will be able to learn on the bench for a few years like Aaron Rodgers. If he shows the ability, he could even get some playing time along with Manning like he did his first year at Florida... 30 pass attempts, 90 rushing attempts for the season back in 2006, specializing in a handful of goal line, third down, and short yardage situations per game.

ETA - it seems like the pats have more pressing needs than the colts and thus shouldn't go after him. it's really a luxury pick for the colts.

Steelers do need help on the OL (especially the right side of the line), but they also need some serious help at Safety , DL and ILB.

IMO, If Iupati isnt there at 1.18, either trade down or take the BPA. Of course, I wouldnt mind trading up to get McClain if he drops. I think the Steelers have to think long and hard about Mays and E. Thomas too.

Definitely going to be interesting come draft time.

I'll kill myself if Seattle goes QB at 1.6
lol seriously? LT is a pressing need for them as well, but would you really want to count on hassel's back for even one more game?
Yes. I would rather see Hasselbeck behind an improved OL than a possible franchise QB behind the current OL. There isn't a QB in the league, much less a rookie QB, that could succeed behind that god awful line, and not just LT.Not to mention our dreadful running game. It all starts and ends with the Seahawks OL.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you on this,If it was me I'd always go BPA (which I don't think at 31 is Tebow). If I had to pick a position I'd look at DE, the Colts looked very poor when Freeney missed time and I think it would be wise to have a more capable backup, especially considering how much their D relies on the passrush from the ends.If Tebow is still avaible when the Colts pick in round 2 I'd take him there (although I somehow don't think he gets that far).

His specialty in 2006 for Florida won't work quite as well in the NFL.Do you think he is getting 5 yards up the middle against an NFL defense?

Dez Bryant won't be picked that high. He has character issues and I think he falls to the bottom of the first round, if not the second. Or the Raiders will take him. :lmao:

The developmental QB angle is obvious, but the question is what does Tebow add while you are waiting for him to develop. For the Colts, he might provide some benefit as a special short yardage player. Tim was likely the best short yardage QB in the history of the NCAA. He was almost automatic picking up 3rd or 4th and 1 as a QB. The Colts being able to convert a couple short yardage situation could have easily changed the outcome of the Super Bowl.

While I'm not certain that Tebow could run for more than 5.0 YPC in the NFL, it seems like he could be an effective short yardage situational runner. Not plugged in at RB taking the handoff behind Manning, but subbing in for manning on 3 or 4 plays per game on 3rd or 4th and 1 or 2.he's basically the perfect fit for the wildcard... he can throw better than Ronnie Brown. having 10 blockers as opposed to 9 with a standard rush might do wonders for the colts pathetic 3.6 ypc and undersized o-line.

Im not sure he is quick enough to run the wildcat nor are his lateral moves all that good.Brown can run much better than Tebow out of that formation.Sure...he is a better passer...but I don't think he is a great wildcat fit.

but brown has no experience at QB and the safeties would have no reason to respect his arm, so they pile 9 in the box. Tebow would be more difficult to defense because he could easily flick the ball to Dallas Clark for example.

I see no reason to ever take the best QB out of the game for a gimmick play to let Tebow flick it to Clark. They are not going to stack the box to take away his running...so its not likely that it opens up his passing all that much. And I don't think his running is that great on this level.

I think the Jaguars have to improve the d-line. The pass defense was awful last year. While it might seem like CB/S was the issue, the defense line had absolutely no push on the line. If they can address this problem, the whole defense will be better. Let's face it. No one can cover 2/3 WRs for 7 seconds every play.

Tebow in the 1st round? :kicksrock:

Tebow to the Colts?

They will try and fill holes, such as losing Brackett to FA they might try and fill his spot. I see them going defense, which is by far the stronger side of the ball in this year's draft.

MN has to go DB. Griffin is out for awhile Winfield is aging, they need a 1st round DB this year.

oh man, I would LOVE to place a wager on this. I think he goes in the top half of the first round, if not top 10.

How many more years do you think Peyton will be in the league? Cause I don't see anyone, let alone Tim Tebow, winning the starting QB job over the best QB in the game today. I say Manning has 6-7 more quality years left. Why waste a 1st rounder on someone that probably won't start a game for you until 2017. And that's even if he is still with the team at that time.

Someone will pull the trigger on Tebow but I see no secnario in which that team will be the Colts. With all the lineman going before the pick I see a skill position player falling and the Colts grabbing one of them.
