You have the number 1 pick. You draft LT2. Now to protect your investment in the SD offense, when do you draft M. Turner? With Turner's talent and Norv Turner as head coach when do you draft him as a backup to LT2?

Do you have to go early, say 5th or 6th round, or can you wait until say 9th or 10th round?

I felt fortunate to land him 10.12---unless a trade can get worked out, you're using the 8.12/9.1 turn pick to secure him and I think that's too early

I'm in an 8 team that starts 3 backs and keeps 6.

Last yr I was able to grab Turner later but with him being a FA I had to take him a little bit earlier. I got him in the 8th round but if I waited any longer he would've been gone.

If your roster sizes are anywhere from 15 to 19 and it's an 8 team league, I wouldn't think worrying about handcuffing is necessary. Especially if you have small rosters (<20). If you have large rosters, then round 8-10 for a 8 team league sounds about right.

Actually, it is not a who do I draft question. It is a discussion on whether handcuffing LT2 is wise and if so what round is a good round to handcuff him.Plus, I did try to use the search engine and couldn't find anything. However, Joffer kindly sent me the link.

As for the original question, I don't believe in handcuffing. If Turner is the best option at any point in your draft, then take him. But if there is someone who has a better combination of talent and opportunity, take that guy instead.

If you are drafting out of the #1 slot like most are you have to get him at the 5th/6th (early) or 7th/8th (may be too late) turn.I just finished a draft, 12 team re-draft, standard scoring and he went in the 6th round and I missed out. The owner was happier that a school girl on sunday, what as ###.Later
