We will call it a late first, so guys like Sankey, Ebron, Evans, Watkins, Cooks, and OBJ are out. Who do you have to have and why?

Matthews because he's in a great situation and he has a great chance of being the best wr in this class.

Just so happens that is my situation. Pick #8 of 14. Next pick in 3rd Rd. In no particular order, looking at Sankey, D. Adams, M. Bryant, Hyde, Latimer, D. Freeman and Mathews. I'll get one of them. K. Benjamin will fall past me like he doesn't exist.

so you have pick 7 and don't know who to take.
Wow, could you try to ruin a thread more. For the record I have pick 8 in one league as well as 2.05, 3.03 3.08 and 4.10. In my other league I have no picks

I'll say Allen Robinson. He could be a little stronger in the lower body. He could be a little faster. But overall, there is a lot to like. Tall guy with rare body control and fluidity before, during, and after the catch. He has a very versatile skill set. He can play like a finesse WR running downfield routes and winning jump balls or he can play like a west coast possession guy running short routes and getting YAC. Excellent college production. Pretty good athletic profile (40 time was disappointing though). He's not going to be Demaryius Thomas or Andre Johnson, but I think he will be a solid pro. Oh, and he's still 20 years old. If he adds some thickness without losing mobility, look out.

If Ebron is at #7, as the first post stipulates, I'm in. He's a B+ talent in an A- situation. The Lions are going to move him all over the formation. Add that to Calvin's perpetual double teams and Detroits absurd pass/run ratio- you are looking at fantasy gold. He's my #2 dynasty TE. If I can get that at 1.07-I'm elated.

Ebron will be the offensive rookie of the year.

You do know the track record of tight ends during their rookie year right?

In 1.5 PPR leagues I can see him going pick #1 in some leagues. I would definitely consider it. Pick 2 for sure.

In regular PPR leagues if he is there at pick 7, I would still easily take him there

You do know that tight end scoring is trending up, right?

I don't think Ebron will be offensive ROY either, but I would not be surprised at all if he was.

I suspect we'll seldom see Ebron in 3-point next to a tackle.

I've said it in many threads - Allen Robinson will be a star.

This is a little too high for these guys, but I don't want to start a new thread.

Martavis Bryan vs. Donte Moncrief is the most interesting decision a lot of people will be making in their drafts. No idea which way I lean. Moncrief has the higher pedigree, the better situation long term, and he's 1.5 years younger. Bryant could get on the field right away and Big Ben has already shown he can make a raw developmental deep threat fantasy relevant (Wallace).

I think you can get Bryant in the 2nd round - he will probably have a redshirt year.
I don't know about that. Steelers coaches have already come out saying they think he could contribute sooner rather than later, and even though he's generally regarded as a raw, developmental type the Steelers offense has made room for a raw deep threat before (Wallace), early on. And there's a glaring hole at their WR2 spot.

I prefer Moncrief straight up, personally, though I can see the argument for both. Just playing devil's advocate.

I'd choose from Jordan Matthews, Marquese Lee, and. Devonta Freeman...

Depending on what you need.

If Tre Mason or Jeremy Hill are there I would jump at one of them!

no offense, but all you get is fluff post draft - what else would they say?

By the accounts I've read, he dropped due to character concerns. I think he's got potential, but I don't think he will

"pop the gate" and flash to the lead - it will probably take him some time.

all that aside, in drafts I've seen, he's been available with a 2.7 pick.

Limas Sweed was my pre-draft comparison for Bryant, so kind of eerie to see him in Pitt.

He may become a decent deep threat. I don't see him ever being a complete guy.

He's been going pretty high in my drafts and I'm not a huge fan at the market price.

Torn between Marqise Lee and Davante Adams.

If swing for a double, I go Lee. He's in a good situation to get lots of targets right away. It wouldn't surprise me to see him do well his rookie season, judging by his college production in a pro style offense. He might be a good one to flip after year one.

Fate also provided for Adams, sending him to Green Bay. He might not get targets out of the gate, considering the team's receiving options. But if/after he develops his craft, pairing up with Rodgers gives him about as much upside as any receiver in this draft.

I'm with you, I like Robinson a lot.

Receivers like Latimer, Adams, and Matthews, even Moncrief have a lot more buzz at the moment. I imagine Robinson's ADP will fall below theirs. Don't you think you can get him with a middle 2nd?

My drafts are all over the place, but Robinson is going pretty high in most of them. Watkins/Evans/Beckham/Cooks go higher in every league. Adams almost always goes higher. After that it seems to come down to personal preference. Some like Matthews (I don't). Others like Benjamin (I definitely don't). There are probably a few who like Latimer more, though he seems to be sliding a little bit (not as far as Benjamin, but below Matthews/Robinson/Adams).

Davante Adams - a good bet to start in 2015 - and that's with Rodgers - for several years.
I tried to think of a scenario where this could happen. I feel confident Jordy will re-up soon but when I think about Cobb, he has to prove he can stay healthy.

Adams or Moncrief for me.

This offense can support 3 WR's. He could be the third this year.

ETA: Moncrief is more of a project. He's going to have some trouble finding the field this year, but he could be in a perfect situation to have in impact in a year or two. Which is exactly what he needs, a year or two learning the ropes from one of the best in the game, Reggie Wayne. He's going to have one of the best QB's in the league throwing him the ball and that team needs a big bodied guy not named Hakeem Nicks when Nicks is inevitably dinged up again and likely sent packing.
