Your favorite Super Bowl memory... (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
It can be a game.... a play.... a moment.... whatever.

As you might expect, the Raiders pounding the Skins 38-9 in Super Bowl XVIII is my favorite memory, especially when Marcus Allen reversed field on the spectacular 74 yard TD run.

Oakland's win over Minnesota in S.B. XI is a close second for me, because it was their first one. I was a young kid at the time. The S.B. XV win over Philly was nice, but it didn't feel as special. I guess because there was no doubt in my mind that they'd win.

Being a Skins fan, that game was the most painful ever for me. I was also at a party where everyone but me was rooting fo rthe Raiders - oh the pain, the pain. I remember Riggins 4th and 1 romp for a TD against the Dolphins and the 35 point 2nd quarter against the poor Broncos.

The Titans pass to the one against the Rams on the final play was great.

I still like Bill Don Beebe swatting the ball from the Cowboy lineman as he held it out for the premature TD celebration.

Remember in Super Bowl VII when Richard Hurtz dropped that pass from Joe Carcuss in the end zone? Man, what a Super Bowl!
How have you made it three weeks without getting permabanned?

Broncos fan here. I guess we can play "tag" with the pain. That 2nd quarter was brutal. My favorite game has to be their first win in superbowl XXXII. The most memorable play was the Elway scramble where he did the mid air "helicopter" after being hit. I knew after that play that the Broncos were the "hungrier" team and about to win their first superbowl.

Now for the tag game. Green Bay fan next. And my Packer fan wife can't respond. lol!

Raidernation won't like it, but TB putting the screws on the hated Raiders (sorry, 'Hawks and also Bolts fan) has been my best memory. If my team ever makes it in I'm hoping to replace that with a positive. Memory. Nothing in the Chargers/Niners SB was memorable for me. Just a blurry memory of getting whupped.

Mobley breaking up Favre's 4th down pass to clinch Super Bowl XXXII.Rod Smith catching a bomb to basically clinch Super Bowl XXXIII.

Super Bowl V - Mike Curtis interception in Super Bowl V - Less than two minutes showed on the clock when Morton, on his own 27, passed toward Reeves, coming out of the backfield. The pass, however, was intercepted by the Colts' Curtis and returned to the Dallas 28. Now there was less than one minute remaining. Two Bulaich smashes gained three yards and Morrall called a timeout. When he returned to the field he was accompanied by O'Brien, the long-haired rookie referred to by teammates as "Lassie."

"When we were running onto the field," recounted O'Brien, "Earl told me just to kick the ball straight, that there was no wind."

No rookie ever followed a veteran's directions more faithfully. With five seconds remaining, O'Brien's 32-yard kick sailed true and the Colts had won the world championship that eluded them two years earlier.

'Skins vs. Dolphins in '81. After the Washington score I ran over to bang on my a few doors in the apartments I was living because they all wanted Miami to win. By the time I got back to my place the Dolphins were lining up for the extra point. I think it was the 1st kick return for a TD in SB history and I missed it.

Terrell Davis in Denver's first Super Bowl victory. The moment I remember most was the 9 yard run for a TD along the left side on their last drive, then Denver got called for holding...So the next play, Davis ran for 18 yards to the 1...on the left side.Fantastic.

 The exact same play (according to the coaches, it's because they saw Green Bay was in a 3-4 on both of those plays), too!

Elway and the hated Broncos being favored by Vegas to win super bowl XXII, seeing them take a 10-0 lead inthe first quarter, and then came the demolition. Elway just stunk in that AFC title game and the team barely won over my Browns, and the media just lavished praise on him anyway. So Elway had two meltdowns in a row.

John Elway diving for the first down and getting spun like a hellicopter and moving the chains. I knew they were going to win right then. He wanted it too badly to be denied.

Brett Favre, sensing a Patriots blitz, audibled on Green Bay's second play from scrimmage, hitting late-season pickup Andre Rison on a wide-open post pattern for a 54-yard touchdown pass in Super Bowl XXXI.The memory is that much better because I was at the game sitting in the 5th row!

Yup. Tough to be that play as a 'Skins fan of Riggins shedding Don McNeal's tackle to ice their first Super Bowl win.

Vinateiri's 48 yard fg as time expired over the heavily favored St Louis Rams. Not only was it the beginning of the Pats dominance, it was even sweeter to end the Rams era. I hated those Rams mother####ers.

Do you by any chance have highlights from the broncos vs 9ers superbowl game? :D I wasn't old enough to remember that game or the first 4 superbowls the niners won. My favorite memory is Steve Young throwing a bomb to Jerry Rice and him running into the endzone with his hands up in the air vs the chargers.....

Two from the 2000/2001 super bowl:Stokley's TDKickoff return for TD just after Giants had a kickoff return for TD...amazing.

:X It's amazing ... picture that the Broncos win that game instead of the Niners, and hold everything else constant. A win there would pretty much vault Elway over Montana in the ranks of historic QBs, since they'd both have 3 Super Bowl wins.

Then again, I'm not the biggest Elway fan (considering I'm a Broncos fan), so maybe it's better this way.

I don't think it is that simple. If Denver wins the Super Bowl in January 1990, odds are the relationship between Elway and Dan Reeves would not have disintegrated like it did and the whole timeline of who was Denver's coach when would have been altered.

And given the pain Elway played with his last few seasons, it is possible he wouldn't have played as long as he did since he kept playing to try and win a Super Bowl, which he wouldn't have had to do if they had beat SF in '90.

Garo Yepremiam's (sp?) field goal attempt, turned forward pass, turned interception, turned Touchdown that changed what could have been a very commanding 17-0 lead (and first and only shut-out?) into a close game.

Mark Ingram's incredible first down catch and run in SB XXV.Mark Bavaro genuflecting in the endzone in Super Bowl XXI.Seeing my Dad cry tears of joy after Super Bowl XXI.

I wouldn't say it iced the game. They were down 13-17 at the time. That run gave them the lead. Theismann hit Brown (or was it Garrett) for the clincher. But, that run and The Quarter are definitely the most memorable. Oddly, the SB win over Buffalo didn't really have a memorable moment.

#1 Favre's Celebration after his first Superbowl TD pass#2 Norwood Misses FG against the Giants (Giants win) I was the lone Giants fan at a party of 25+ Bills Fans :boxing: #3 Doug Williams comeback vs Denver in the (Most TDs in a 2nd Quarter) after Broncos go up 10pts my buddy starts teasing me about supporting the Redskins and aggressively wants to bet him $20.... I say ok and seconds later Redskins start kicking ###!Least favorite.... William Perry takes Walter Payton's TD in the superbowl, Dikta show he has no class! The great Walter Payton never does get a Superbowl TD.

Giants-Broncos 1986. Giants score. We all jump up and my buddies fist goes right through the ceiling. My dad was pretty peeved, but it's a good laugh now.

I went to that game. Nosebleed seats but I'll remember it forever.

Super Bowl X:When Dallas free safety Cliff Harris came up and taunted Roy Gerela by patting him on the helmet & congratulating him after he missed his second field goal try of the game. Steelers linebacker Jack Lambert grabbed Harris threw him to the ground and stood over him shaking his finger at him. On Dallas' next possession Lambert was unstoppable, making all three tackles and fired up the whole team. GB Jack Lambert!Least favorite:Super Bowl XXXNeil O'Donnell's interceptions TWICE to a wide-open Larry Brown who was yards away from any Steeler WR both times.

The Browns....eh...oh we're talking about the Super Bowl???Jack Lambert bodyslamming Cliff Harris in Super Bowl X.

Lynn Swann's miraculous catches will never be duplicated.

i'm in row 5 at SB 37 right above the entry into the locker room as the raiders are leaving the field in shame, bill romanowski takes off his gloves and throws them into the stands. i catch one. it's in my SB 34 and 37 shrine (the ones i attended) in my basement.

Being at the game and seeing the ball go through the uprights was a great moment. Also, the year the Pats beat the Rams was after 9/11/01. U2 was the entertainment at halftime and they were singing and they scrolled the names of all the 9/11 victims on the wall of the Superdome. Gave me chills. It was an awesome MOMENT.

Giants/Broncos 1986. We are at a VFW party with squares all you can drink all you can eat. Cant remember who scored at the end of the 1st quarter whether it was the Giants or the Broncos. My 2 buddies are jumping up and down. The are about to win $1000 for the quarter (there are only seconds left). And the kicker MISSES the XP. :lmao: :lmao: Classic moment. They were not happy.
