IMO, Denver won't be nearly as bad as most here are predicting. But maybe I'm blinded by blue and orange glasses.

Their defense, surpisingly, looks much improved. While most think it will be in the bottom 5 once again, I expect this defense to finish middle of the pack.

And their offense should move the ball fairly well... I see a lot of 14 play, 75 yard drives - so, they won't be a juggernaut by any means, but I think 20 -23 PPG is certainly possible. This is of course assuming Orton (or Simms) is able to get (and stay) healthy. That said, I am impressed with Brandstater and think he will make a solid backup QB in this league.

I expect Denver to win 6 or 7 games.

I agree with you. Broncos should still be better than the Raiders and KC and they play 4 against those 2 teams. Plus they play the Browns and Lions. They also have a great home field advantage and a really good OL.

I really don't even see two sure wins, but throw MIA and BUF at home into that category. Give them 3 out of 5 of the coinflips and I come up with 5 wins.

The defense is really bad, special teams may be worse. The owner fire his two sons who were VPs. I think the offense will produce some nice fantasy stats.

Hope I'm wrong on this, but pre-season performance has been a good historical indicator of what's to come.

The Browns schedule includes games vs the:Lions

Raiders

Broncos

Bills

Chiefs

Jaguars

and Bengals twice

You really feel confident the Browns will lose just about all of those games? They'll have to in order to own the #1 pick. If they just win half of those, they are already at 4 wins which makes it unlikely they have the top pick.

Boy are you going to be miserable when Phil Dawson banks a 50-yarder off the upright and through as time expires to send your boys whimpering home with a 16-14 loss this week. But don't despair, after the Browns win 6 or 7 games you won't feel quite as bad about it.

Not directed to me, but I would think those teams are looking at the Browns with at least as much expectation of a win. The Jaguars don't belong listed alongside the others, I would suggest that the Bengals chance of sweeping the Browns is as likely as the Browns winning once, and only the Raiders play in Cleveland of the remaining five teams on the list. I could see the Browns managing to find a way to lose 5 or 6 of the 8 games on that list. Keep in mind that 3-13 could be the worst record in the league this season.

At the same time, you're suggesting they lose everything on the schedule outside of these 8 games to go 3-13. I think there's more talent on this team than that.

If things go bad in Carolina Fox gets axed and Cowher is named head coach in 2010.

Well, half of those games are against the AFC championship contestants from last year along with two other division champions as well as Chicago and Green Bay. Not a lot of wins there. We know in the NFL that teams can surprise, but it's possible 2007 was the anomaly when looking at the Browns. They took a weak schedule, a hot QB of whom defenses did not yet know his weaknesses, and momentum and ran up 10 wins. I also think the Jets overachieved in 2006 under many of the same circumstances, which is where the Browns current coach got his accolades. I'm just not seeing it. I know to expect the unexpected when attempting to project seasons in the NFL, so perhaps I'm way wrong on this one.

The games against the Lions, Broncos, Bills, and Chiefs are all road games. I think the Lions are better than them and the rest are toss ups.I think the Jags and Bengals are clearly more talented than the Browns.I don't think that the Browns defense match up well at all with the Raiders' offense. Plus, the one offensive weapon the Browns have (Edwards) will be neutralized by Asomugha. The Browns have a mess at QB, traded away their top offensive weapon in Winslow, and got almost nothing of immediate impact in their draft class this year.I don't see four wins.

Bucs are going to be absymal. People will be callilng for a Gruden comeback by the end of the year.Give them the #1 pick with a 2-14 finish
I'm with Craig especially factoring in the schedule. The Broncos/Chiefs/Raiders will get some wins against each other. I think the Browns are probably the only team worse than the Buccs and they have way more winnable games IMO.

Interesting. I have them finishing last in their division, but can't see them bottom 5. Their defense isn't terrible and if the rookie o-linemen can play, their offense is pretty good too. Why so down on them?
