This poll is only for die-hard fans, casual fans obviously take the money.

You're in an expensive Super Bowl Box ($200 per)... 4th quarter takes home $8000.

Currently you have winning box, but your team is lining up to kick the game winning FG. If they hit it, they win the Super Bowl but you lose the box, if they miss, you win the money, but no SB for your team.

You want the kick to go in or no?

If no, what is your dollar amount to root against your team?

The money...If we were talking a couple hundred on the take home, no brainer i would want the miss....anything over 1K i would vote the money.

Well, I'm a Lions fan. So them even in the Super Bowl probably means the rapture is upon us and/or the polar vortex has reached hell.

So I reckon $8000 isn't going to do me much good in that scenario. Lets just hope Akers isn't still the kicker.

The owners decided to opt for the money option over the fans when they decided to start charging exorbitant prices for game tickets effectively keeping the average joe from attending games.

#### the owners. I choose the money every time. .

I almost never bet on sports. I would absolutely never put myself in this situation if my team (the Jets) somehow ever made the superbowl.

$8K would be nice and all, but its nowhere near life changing money. I'd put it in the bank for a rainy day (or maybe a little extra down payment on my next house) and get no joy out of it.

I'll take my team to win please. Been suffering for too long. Its a no brainer.

Not sure what amount of money would make me change my mind.

As a lifelong Lions fan, I'd give my house, both kidneys, and at least one of my kids for them to win the Superbowl. $8000 wouldn't even be in the ballpark to let that go.

As a Seahawks fan, I wholly concur. Been waiting a lifetime for a SB win.

If this was NBA, MLB, NHL, I take the money in a heartbeat.

I am an Eagles fan.

Efff the money.

I've seen my favorite team win 3 SBs and lose 4 of them but I would still take the win over the money every time. 80K might be different but 8K is chump change in the grand scheme of things.

This poll might have been more illuminating if it filtered out, or gave a choice to those that have already seen a SB win for their team.

If you asked me in 1998, I would have taken kick. Now after seeing three wins, I'll take the money.

8K is a bit much. I'd say I'd pass up 4k in that scenario. You're really talking about the peak of happiness for a fan. A great game and your team is in it and they have the chance to make the game winning field goal. If you said, your team wins the super bowl in a blowout or loses in a blowout that would be different b/c even though your team is in it, its not a good game.

Chiefs Superbowl... I'll take the money even though I don't need it.

But replace the scenario with KC royals World Series and put some type of baseball equivalent betting system in place and I'd take the win... and it would probably take at least double the 8K to have me take the loss.

if it were a home game, i'd be there... if it weren't a home game I'd be hosting one hell of a good party for that game 7.

I'm just not invested in the chiefs anymore.. the nfl experience at the games just degraded so much over the last 10 years... and not being there I've fallen off as a fan (still watch almost every game).

But the royals I'm out there 15 times a year and watch/listen to a good number of the rest of the games... I'm heavily invested.... I want that win.. BADLY

I'm a Saints fan and Seahawks season ticket holder, was cheering for the Saints all the way. Hedged a little on the money line, but made a tidy profit selling NFCCG tickets. It's nice when life offers you a win/win.

That FSU championship was almost orgasmic a few weeks ago. I don't think I would buy anything that I couldn't buy now that would be as memorable.

Especially with the Bucs, I have WAY more mutual friends that root for them than say FSU or even the Rays. Give me the win.

If it was the World Series I'm not sure how much money it would take for me to be glad the Tigers lost. I think it would have to be enough for me to buy the Tigers.

$8k not enough for the Super Bowl either, definitely not enough for a BCS National Championship.

can't believe money is winning this.

eagles fan. pirates fan.

$8,000 would be life-changing money at this point for me.

i'd still take the championship.

I'm a Bengals fan, and therefore HAVE TO choose the money option.

If left up to the team, the kick would be blocked and returned for a TD, therefore screwing me out of the win AND the money.

I'll take the win..

I live in Wisconsin... My daughter, wife, and my wife's entire family are Packer fans..

Anytime the Vikings pull their heads out and beat the Packers all I hear is, "yea, well, nice win but remind me again, how many Superbowl championships do the Vikings have??" :clyde:

Also would have helped if filtered out by Socio Economic Status.

To some of the 20 somethings on here, or even 30/40 somethings who live at or beyond their means, 8K is a true windfall and even if it was the difference between a 3-peat or the money they would take the money..... whereas if it were $800 it might make them think a little harder.

To the O.P. 8K was his point at which it would really make him think... and it's a good number.

To some people on here that 8K isn't going to change anything about the way they live and it represents a very small amount of their overall net worth... so it would have taken 20K or 50K to really make them think.

Giants fan -- I'd take the win. The 8 grand will be spent and forgotten. A 5th championship would be savored forever. I still get chills when I think back to the parade in '08.

Can make more money easily. Id give up a lot more than 8 grand for a Championship.
Says the Sabres fan. Understandable.
In most cases Sabres fan = Bills fan. I'd say most Buffalo fans would take a Super Bowl over $8,000. It's hard to say how much I'd have to be paid to want to experience another Scott Norwood. A lot, probably close to $100,000, and I'd still feel ####ty about it.

This is what I was about to say. The $8,000 would be fantastic but Super Bowl wins are forever

Here are my price points for my teams in all sports:

49ers: $5K (due to past success and being on the other side of the country, don't feel as much of a connection to the team)

Mets: $25K

NY Rangers: $50K

Rutgers Football: $100K

Knicks: $7
