It looks like, for the top 5 for each position next year, you just took who were essentially the top 5 of their position this year. It rarely works out that way.

I like the first two but I'd be pretty shocked by the next three, especially White.Edit to add: Off the top of my head, I'll throw out Nicks, Bowe and Charles to add to wells and Crabtree with Massaquoi and a wild card selection.

Breakout/Cedric Benson Award

Hard to interpret this..breakout as in rookies that are already putting up good numbers taking the next step (Harvin, Nicks), or players who struggled/are still underrated or unknown/or no one thought would be successful (Benson)?

I’ll go with the latter, I guess.

1. Michael Bush

2. Mike Thomas

3. Jared Cook

4. Shawn Nelson

5. Chad Henne

If I picked "guys already doing well", it'd be Nicks, Harvin, Wells, Bradshaw, and Finley.

I was thinking guys who are drafted mid to late rounds and end up producing like Round 1-3 guys. Guys you draft as your RB3 or RB4 and end up being RB1 or RB2 guys...it can be a rookie with potential or an underrated/underperforming vet.

lol. Bush probably gets cut due to salary and if he joins a playoff team and stays healthy (big assumption), he could breakout. Put him a Colts uniform and let him run in their zone blocking scheme like he did in college and catch oulet passes from Manning.Lendale is my random free agent pick up that does well. If not him, maybe it's another free agent like Chester Taylor or Leon Washington.

No excuse for McFadden. lol

I'm going to artificially limit my break out contenders to 2 per position who are currently ranked between 2X and 4X "normal" starters per position - take all the starters and primary backups out of it, but don't reach too far. Meaning, 24-48 QB, 48-96 RB, 72-146 WR, 24-48 TE. 2 each. basically for the heck of it. So...

QB: Vince Young, Matt Moore

RB: Michael Bush, Donald Brown

WR: Jordy Nelson, Deon Butler

TE: Shawn Nelson, Jared Cook

ETA: VY almost certainly will be drafted before #24 but he fits my criteria and he will do well.

With Caldwell ready to breakout are the Bengals even in need of a WR? Even if they do pick someone I think Caldwell is the guy to get aside from ocho.

Meh, not very impressed with Caldwell personally. 410 yards and 3 TD's. I Think with Henry gone, the Bengals will very seriously look for an upgrade at the 2 wr spot. Carson Palmer is too good of a QB to not be a stud in this league. TJ made that offense better when he was there. This is a good time to find a future #1 to pair with Ocho, I don't think Caldwell is that guy.

DeSean will be a bust next year based on where he'll get drafted. More than 50% of his value relies on him getting wide open 50+ yard TDs with no defenders anywhere nearby. Everything fell right for him this year, other years won't be the same. I see him as a probable top-20, no way top-5 or even top-10.

Santana Moss had an almost identical statistical season in 2003, and got drafted as a WR1 the next year. He rewarded those optimistic FF owners with 45 catches for 800 yards & 5 TDs in 2004.

I would love to post my breakouts for next season, but my main competition in my league scouts my posts. Gotta keep that #### a secret this offseason.

Yea wiersface, I'm talking about you.

Top 5 QBs

1. Aaron Rodgers -- Offensive line has improved this year but it should be even better next year (provided that they use some common sense and look to build a better wall around their investment).

2. Philip Rivers -- What if he got another weapon to put alongside V-Jax?

3. Drew Brees -- Same ole, same ole but let's just say, for argument's sake, they get a RB that can stay healthy (maybe one of their current RBs) and he takes some of the production away, slightly.

4. Peyton Manning -- No brainer.

5. Matt Ryan -- He will be healthy next year. Turner will be healthy. They will likely add another weapon on offense next to Roddy White.

Top 5 RBs

1. Chris Johnson -- Clearly one of a kind, especially for PPR leagues.

2. DeAngelo Williams -- True enough, he has had a great year, but I expect a bounce back to an even better year for him next time around.

3. Rashard Mendenhall -- I think they will figure it out that Big Ben can't be passing for 350+ yards and expect to win. More running next year.

4. Maurice Jones-Drew -- Yeah, he will get his.

5. Knowshon Moreno -- Started the year out without knowing the playbook, then got hurt. One more year in that offense and I think he could be an elite FF performer.

Top 5 WRs

1. Andre Johnson -- Yeah, what can I say?

2. Greg Jennings -- Too many people expected a lot more from him this year. I think they were all a year early.

3. Wes Welker -- Consistent and productive. Best route-running and elusiveness off of the line in the game.

4. DeSean Jackson -- Brings the heat when he blazes the turf.

5. Calvin Johnson -- He will be back. One of a kind talent that everyone is forgetting about. He is no Roy Williams.

Breakouts (aside from those you may consider breakouts that I have already ranked)

1. Austin Collie -- Will be a dream in PPR leagues.

2. Shonn Greene -- I would like to see him get more carries.

3. Dwayne Bowe -- Yes, he has already had a big season but he will be completely undervalued next year and re-break out.

4. Joe Flacco -- Will also be undervalued and play like a lower end QB1.

5. Jeremy Williams (rookie) -- Coming out of Tulane for the 2010 NFL Draft, this kid fits the part and could be a success anywhere he lands.

I'm finding it hard not to pick the same old top 5 for RB, WR, QB so I'll just list some breakouts for each position

Breakout RBs

1. Shonn Greene - with the Jets line and the way they play defense, he can put up monster numbers if he gets the lead role. And even if he doesn't take over, he'll still be startable next year much like Stewart this year.

2. LeSean McCoy - there was a time when the Philly rb was a valuable commodity. McCoy has done a lot for a rook this year and Weaver is only signed to a one year deal.

3. Felix Jones - yep, I still think he has it.

Breakout WRs

1. Mike Wallace - DJax showed us this year that you can put up big ff points without getting an obscene amount of targets. If he gets about 6-8 targets per game, he'll be huge.

2. Jeremy Maclin - he can do the things in this offense that DJax can't. Tonight's catch won the game IMO.

3. Malcolm Floyd - if I keep saying it, it has to come true

4. Louis Murphy - Chaz Schillens is the bigger talent but I really like this kid's heart. Could be solid if they land a real QB.

Breakout QBs

1. Vince Young - the fantasy community has forgotten how valuable running QBs can be with the years that Rivers, Brees, et al are having. I don't think Vince Young is all that, but I love his OLine and that's huge. He will be a good #2 next year.

2. Chad Henne - I like how he spreads the ball around and that he's put up pretty good numbers without any real play makers.

3. Kevin Kolb - I'm far from certain he takes over next year, but if he does this offense is REALLY good. And its not good because of McNabb, its good because there are too many weapons for any defense to realistically cover.

Are we talking breakout, not just top 10.

QB

Palmer

Young

RB

Stewart

Bradshaw

WR

Nicks

Cotchery

TE

Cook
