Your winter weather report from Miami (1 Viewer)

Ministry of Pain

Some of you are freezing your nuts off right now. Was watching the news briefly last night and saw Philly airport shut down, snow n ice, same in NYC, we keep getting the tail end of these fronts and nothing happens down here. We had a couple weeks where it was in the 40s and 50s but right now and for the next week at least we are gonna have highs in the low 80s every day.

I am out running, going to the beach, it really is warm down here, if it were much hotter it wouldn't even be enjoyable. I'm not rubbing this in but encouraging my FFA brothers to take a vacation for a few days while it is freezing everywhere and get down here.

Best value: Broward County on the beach, skip South Beach/Miami Beach if you come down here, go straight for the Hollywood Beach. Beautiful boardwalk, great value over there, in 1-2 years once Margaritiville is finished you won't be able to get as close to it as you can now.

If any of you are thinking about coming down here or book a trip, let me know and I'd be happy to guide you towards the best deals and some local stuff you can do and steer clear of the tourists traps. The Canadiens who trek down here every year have figured it out that their money goes a lot further in Broward than Dade County. Hollywood, Dania Beach, Ft Laud, all superior to South Beach if you have a family or SO. If you are single, then by all means head straight for the debauchery of South Beach.

You know you are cold, why suffer? Get yourself a 3 day weekend getaway and take some vacation time right now.

I left Florida for two reasons. Everything was becoming concreted over and the lack of seasons. I like winter. Charlotte has just enough winter to make me happy and usually not so much it's a problem.

Ill play. Id like non-touristy, laid back place on the water with great fishing that includes a skiff and is no more than 2 hours from a major airport.

Ft Laud Int'l, DO NOT FLY INTO MIA

A Skiff? Just charter a boat, they aren't that expensive and go out for 2-3 hours. And non-touristy, there are lots of places in Hollywood along the beach, Dania Beach, Ft Laud...

Pick a hotel, the important thing is beach access.
