you know, the FFA has gone to crap, but then this type of post comes out and it makes me enjoy life again if just for a brief moment. worked!
On the other side of things, I was perfectly happy until opening this thread and finding out other people are getting an offer that apparently I don't get.
(but I still like you guys in the FFA, so I guess I'm happy for the rest of you...)

I was bored anyway, so am trying the chat function to see if they'll tell me why some of us aren't getting the offer. So far, they're playing dumb and saying that is just an offer for new subscribers...

That's not playing dumb, that just plain lying.

Yeah, I don't know if was chatting with a person or AI, but I guess it's possible that a rep doesn't see that as an option to add on for me on their end or something. I sent the link to that article and said I felt "undervalued" as a subscriber when other subscribers get offers that I don't. :-) Anyway, I didn't get the offer, but they gave me 2 weeks off for my next bill, so about ~$40. Not as good as $66 obviously, but better than nothing.

I don't think it's for new subscribers as new subscribers can't "manage" unless I'm missing something

Right. The rep was intially saying I must be talking about a current 2 months for $49 promo, which was obviously a different deal from this one (which they claimed to not see or be aware of on their end)

Got it. Thanks!

Edit: Will have to try it on my dad's account tomorrow.

Related: How many of you are sharing accounts with family/friends that don't live in the same household? A few of my friends say they share with X, Y, Z people, etc.

Share with my mother.

The minimalist approach YouTube took with last night's KC/SD game was excellent. I can appreciate the Amazon approach, but sometimes the screen feels cluttered with all the stats and information tidbits.

YouTube had the basic info at the bottom and the rest of the screen was filled with the playing field.

Well done.

Hmm I rewound just fine ... Maybe because I set it to record?

Agreed. I didn't watch entire game. Prolly about half. When i watch football nowadays it's 100% on my phone. I absolutely loved that I can zoom in for more detail. Was a nice feature for me and my bad eyes.

Prob so

Apparently I've angered someone at YouTube. Didn't get the previous $10/mo discount offer and not showing this one either. :kicksrock:

Looks like all the Disney, ABC, and ESPN channels are gone from YTTV. Doesn't matter who is right or wrong YTTV is going to lose this pissing contest. People want to watch their sports.

May try the ESPN Fox Bundle and just be done with it. I don't care about all the channels like HGTV.

Anybody using Directv streaming? I looked at their packages (phrasing!) online and then downloaded their app on my Firestick. The sign up process on the app is completely different than what's online.

I'd like to use the app to avoid having to lease their dongle (one of the reasons I left cable was the monthly leasing fee for the box)

Any insight appreciated.

Yeah, but you might get a $20 discount ... sometime, maybe

Currently on the phone with Directv. Kumail and Rob are adamant it's the ultimate pro and college football experience. Not sure about that, but YouTube TV minus ESPN won't be hard to beat.

DirecTV didn’t have CBS for a month at the beginning football season last year, in my region. There are no guarantees of a quick resolution.

Scans..scans again…no Golf Channel! :whew:

Likely outcome is this gets resolved today, right?
I assumed it would get resolved at 1159pm last night but they removed my channels around 1130pm. I'm planning to resolve my own issue and just do the ESPN/Fox bundle for half the price and stop paying for all the crap on YTTV that I don't watch anyway. YTTV offering the potential of a $20 discount does nothing for me as I want the programming not the discount.

Just cancelled my YTTV and signed up for the ESPN/Fox bundle. Only thing I think I'm missing is the TNT, TruTV, stuff for the NCAA Tournament. I will get a free sling trial or something for that. Monthly bill going to be cut in half.

Is a monthly NFL+ Premium subscription for 2 months the best way to watch Redzone the rest of the season?

100%
I switched over to Directv. I paid $108/month for YouTube TV + a standalone app for my regional sports network (which sucked, because one can't readily change channels during commercials).

Directv has my regional sports network (if you get the Choice package). It also has the MLB network. Oh, and it includes ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu.
And I'm paying $10 less per month (with an extra $25 off for the 1st month).

If you go this route, if you have a Firestick TV or the like, you probably don't need the Gemini device (i.e., dongle) at $10 per month. Everything - DTV, ESPN+, Disney+ - all work fine on my TV.

Sure, no guarantees on any of these. But didn't YouTube TV just go through this with ... I can't recall who it was.

It was also CBS.

And I don't think it's any coincidence that it keeps happening with companies that have their own streaming services.

It seems like YT TV is behind the 8 ball here. These companies probably ask for outrageous prices knowing that it means either YT TV can't offer the channels or YT TV has to raise prices on their customers yet again to cover it. Both of which upset YT TV customers and potentially drive them away, at which point those customers can just buy CBS or Disney's standalone streaming products instead.

It seems like it's going to be harder and harder to keep these package services together when half the channels on them also have their own direct services that they are just as happy to drive customers to.

I’ll take the $20 credit over those channels any day
It’s a one time credit, not monthly. It’s actually quite ********
They just lost them so of course it’s one time. This stretches out past a month and we’ll see
Just pointing out they YouTube made a specific point to say “one time” 20$ credit. I’m sure it all gets worked out but if it stretches out a couple months and it’s only $20 that will be some BS.

If they permanently lose the channels they'll have to cut the price permanently.
If they permanently lose the channels the service will eventually cease to function. There are already reports out there that it isn’t a real money maker for Google.
Maybe. Most of the sports I watch are on NBC and Fox stations so I'd stay with them if the price came down proportionately.
