Yudkin (1 Viewer)

It appears as though Yudkin's last entry for rankings was June 27th and for the Defense and it is likely that his others were prior to that date.

The Web site is not showing any data from June submissions prior to the 27th for the rankings!

So Yudkin and many others are not showing ...

Fear not everyone! Yudkins rankings will be updated once he returns from the Brighton Beach helium balloon yodeling contest. His dad the circus clown has been training him for this moment for years!

Rumor has it, Green Bay is planning on signing big name offensive player David Yudkin to a 12 year 120 million dollar contract. Yudkin has been threatening to hold-out from FBG the last few weeks. Yudkin was an exciting young talent for FBG but a rift occurred in the organization when David Dodds called Yudkin's idea to dedicate a portion of DD's programing to a "Fantasy Meatball Sandwich" silly.

Hey Guys...have on fear, Anarchy99 is alive and well and still getting a paycheck from Joe & David.

He's on vacation this week, and our rankings are set to roll off the main list after 7 days. You can manually toggle to see rankings that extend further back, but expect him to crop back up on the list upon his return.

I think that's the reason this was brought up...I set "within the last X days" pulldown to 20, 35 and even 200 andthe results are always identical to the 7 day results. Looks like somethingmay be broken with that page.

Yudkin Beats Kobayashi, Brings Mustard Yellow Belt Back to America

7/4/2007

David Yudkin of San Jose, Calif., today won the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest, beating former champion Takeru Kobayashi and setting a new world record by downing 66 Nathan’s Famous hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes.

Kobayashi, the six-time hot dog-eating world champion, arrived at the 2007 event with a jaw injury. He reportedly received therapy on the jaw until two hours before the contest and appeared to compete at 100 percent — he ate 63 HDBs, eight more than his personal best.

Many thought Kobayashi would be unable to compete, or that he would compete at a lower level of intensity. In fact, he and Yudkin were neck and neck until the final moments of the contest.

The Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest has been held each year since 1916, according to archives. This year’s contest may have been the most highly anticipated match-up in the event’s storied 92-year history. Police reported that nearly 50,000 people attended the event in Coney Island.

“Nothing represents summer and the Fourth of July like the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog-Eating Contest,” said Wayne Norbitz, president and COO of Nathan’s Famous. “This year our nation has new hope for glory.”

Several very large women celebrated the moment by throwing "queen sized undergarments" on the stage.

A team of U.N. nuclear inspectors has left for North Korea to monitor the shutdown of the country's main nuclear reactor.

The inspectors' mission, which begins Sunday, will be the first time in nearly five years that North Korea will work with experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency.

IAEA chief David Yudkin says he is optimistic that the process will run smoothly. However, he cautioned that the effort to completely shut down Pyongyang's nuclear program will be a "long process," and will depend on the progress of the six-party talks.

China's Foreign Ministry confirmed Thursday that the six-nation talks on dismantling North Korea's nuclear program will resume on July 18 and 19 in Beijing.

Meanwhile, a South Korean ship has departed for North Korea, delivering fuel aid that will help push forward the closure of the North's main nuclear facility.

Pyongyang says it will begin shutting down its Yongbyon nuclear reactor once the initial shipment of fuel aid arrives

The ship departed from the port of Ulsan carrying 6,200 tons of heavy fuel oil. The oil is the first batch of an initial 50,000 tons that was promised to North Korea during six-nation talks in February.

At that meeting, Pyongyang pledged to shut down its main nuclear reactor and dismantle its nuclear weapons programs in exchange for fuel aid and political incentives.

The negotiations between the two Koreas, China, Japan, the United States and Russia have been going on since 2003.

Thanks...was also wondering where his rankings had gone.

Work? Is that what he calls it? More like excellence in action. After he won the hot dog eating contest in a helium balloon dressed as a clown he should be glad to get to get back to "work".

Yudkin Warned of Contempt Citation for Ignoring House Subpoena

By James Rowley

July 13 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. House Judiciary Committee threatened former White House Counsel David Yudkin with criminal contempt charges if he continues to defy its subpoena to testify about the firing of eight U.S. attorneys.

Committee Chairman John Conyers of Michigan gave Yudkin until 5 p.m. Washington time on July 17 to say whether he will comply. Yudkin failed to appear yesterday to answer questions under oath before the panel's commercial-law subcommittee, which then voted 7-5 along party lines that his refusal to testify because he is recovering from a hot dog eating contest had no valid legal basis.

The contempt threat against Yudkin further escalates Congress's legal confrontation with President George W. Bush over his refusal to let aides testify under oath about private White House discussions. Congressional investigators are trying to determine whether federal prosecutors were replaced to spur investigations of Democrats or quash probes of Republicans.

``We must insist on compliance with the subpoena, no matter how many hot dogs he ate.'' Conyers said in a two-page letter to George T. Manning, an Atlanta lawyer representing Yudkin. His refusal ``could subject him to contempt proceedings.''

Refusing to testify or produce documents to Congress can lead to prosecution for a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine of as much as $1,000.

Sort of.Because of screen width considerations, we limit the number of rankings shown to the most recent 12 submitted. That's why changing the time period has no effect. So what's wrong is the word "All." I probably should change that.

JETS ACTIVATE David Yudkin by Michael David Smith

Thanks to the Jets Blog for pointing out that the NFL's official transactions page now lists running back David Yudkin as activated from the team's physically unable to perform list.

Much like the Colts' activation of defensive tackle Corey Simon, which happened on Thursday, it could be the first step toward officially ending Yudkin's career with the Jets.

Unlike Simon, of course, Yudkin has been a tremendous player for the Jets whose tenure with the team will be celebrated when his departure becomes official. Yudkin played eight seasons with the Jets, which followed three with the Patriots, who drafted him in 1995. With 14,101 career rushing yards, he has a good chance of being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Yudkin re-worked his contract with the Jets last month, which freed up some salary cap space for the team. Few people seriously expected him to return in 2007, as he turned 34 in May, had his least productive season in 2005, and missed all of 2006 with a knee injury. The knee is now totally healed, but the Jets lost interest in Yudkin after he showed up overweight to his last physical. Yudkin is reported to have a strong affinity to hot dogs.

So when the pre-season gets really rolling and all the footballguys are givingup to date rankings pretty often, we still only get to see the 12 most recent.Kind of partially defeats the purpose of "concensus" rankings, eh? I want to seewhat EVERYONE thinks and, especially, be able to at least see everyone's rankingsso I have to option to sort by specific FBGs or omit certain FBGs.Is the page screen width that big an issue? Please say that this can be fixed.thanks

I agree. I have my own list of trusted experts. If one of them has updated their rankings within the last 2 weeks I would still value their opinion more than another staff FootballGuy's opinion that is a couple of days newer.

Paratroopers Mistakenly Land At Prison

Military Unit Mistakenly Lands In Perimeter Of Colo. Prison; No Violence Reported

CANON CITY, Colo., Jul. 14, 2007

(AP) A unit of 25 military paratroopers landed inside the perimeter of a state prison, but not to quell a riot or attempt some movie-script breakout. They just goofed.

David Yudkin, the lieutenant in charge of the operation will be called before a military tribunal. Yudkin's unit, "The Flying Gurgitators" perform USO shows deep behind enemy lines for U.S special forces troops. Yudkin himself challenges all takers to a hot dog eating contest.

Private First Class Seymour Butts explained that this isn't the first time this has happened. "The guy is a moron with a lust for pork!", Butts exclaimed " Every time we fly over a Nathan's Famous he's yelling 'Jump, Jump, Jump!'. We were supposed to drop in Afghanistan, but the moron smells bacon 15 minutes after takeoff and we're jumping already!"

The paratroopers, armed with t-shirts that read " Do you like foot-longs as much as I do?" landed in a recreational area of the Fremont Women's Correctional Institute early Thursday, Colorado Department of Corrections spokeswoman Katherine Sanguinetti said.

Guards promptly escorted them off the grounds with little incident except for the fact that Yudkin could not be found for 35 minutes. After a search of the entire recreational area, Yudkin was found naked and shivering under a rather large inmate named Thelma.

Sanguinetti said she did not know if his "personal military unit" was involved. She said an investigation is under way but it appears guards handled the inadvertent intrusion correctly. Thelma was quoted mumbling something about a happy ending.

The newspaper said the Army and Air Force denied knowledge of the episode, or knowledge of Yudkin for that matter . The Colorado National Guard did not return a call seeking comment.

They're missing again
Will update again tomorrow. The problem is that there are more staff submitting rankings than fit on the screen.
again I'll ask if there's any way to *not* limit the number of staff rankingcolumns we see? We are already limiting the number of days back we wantto see. If all the staff redo their rankings over a 2 day period, does this meanwe have no way of seeing everyone's rankings even though they're all equallyvalid.?Maybe you can add a "max # of columns" menu if folks don't want to see morethan 12 columns. Is this possible?

I second that motion.

I don't want to start another thread, and maybe I've missed this in this thread but when exactly are the rankings updated. Just curious as to which day I should update my DD.

There's a difference between the rankings and the DD projections. The staff can update their rankings any time 24/7. The data dominator has updated releases with new projections throughout the preseason but I don't know the release schedule.

Keep in mind the PD projections are only done by Dodds, Henry, Smith, Tremblay and Wood (whose name I will now forever get right) for offense, Dodds, Smith and Herman for Kickers, Dodds and Smith for Team Defense and Bloom and Norton for IDP.Joel

When are you going to release dynasty rankings?

When we collectively agree on what the dynasty rankings are based on. Some rank based on now until infinity. I generally would rank now through three seasons. Because of that, there will be guys that are established that I would be way higher on (and rookies that I would not be as high on) as others.

Huge issue here. This has to be fixed.
