Zac Stacy injury (1 Viewer)

Im interested also. I've been scouring for news on Stacy all morning and haven't found anything.

These types of injuries are brutal for RBs, saps explosion. I'd guesstimate that he'll be out for at least two weeks and that's only if it's a low grade sprain.

All I heard was "calf", "doubtful", "sounds serious". Any update?

I'm no medical expert, but I don't think you can sprain your calf...Strain maybe...but not sprain.
Sorry, yes I meant strain. And, I'm not doctor, I can only speak from experience. I strained my calf playing soccer a couple years back and it took me a month before I felt even remotely comfortable running/jumping again and it was a low grade strain. I'm clearly not 1/100th the physical specimen Stacy is but the injury blows.

I feel like for a big plodding RB, a calf is something you don't want strained either...Seems like you'd use it A LOT plowing through tackles.

My only concern is whether or not this injury will hamper him unless rested. Tough schedule coming up (SF, SEA) even if he was healthy.

Saying just a strained calf is like saying just a strained hamstring or just a strained groin. I specifically dislike calf injuries because of it's close relation to the Achilles tendon and the ability to sap explosiveness. Low grade calf strains usually carry 2-4 week recovery time tables for your average human but I'd still be surprised to see him go a week later. It's one of those injuries where you can't work yourself through. The second you feel pain you have to get off of it immediately or you risk elongating the recovery period.

With Stacy now probably on Monday night, what are owners doing with him?

Starting him if you normally would, with some confidence?

Starting him because you have no other viable option?

Sitting him for a better option?

Sitting him for an equal or maybe even lesser option, due to worries about a re-injury or Cunningham/Watts or matchup?

The matchup isn't a great one. I don't want to turn this into an AC question, so I won't list who my other options are.

Just curious what other Stacy owners are doing this week.

Stacy hasn't been too good but gut feeling is he's going to go off for a couple TD's. I just can't start him over Ellington. IF it's another basic week, it could be a turning point for Stacy... for the worse. I don't know if Cunningham is the answer but it would relegate the Rams fantasy football RB situation to Carolina Panthers "avoid" status. At this point I like Asiata better than Stacey.
