Zealots format IDP dynasty League (1 Viewer)

I'm starting up a new 12 team league that closely resembles the Zealots format. I've copied their currency model. My in season waivers and offseason free agency is identical. Here's where I need assistance. My rosters won't be as large. I've got 35 players with an additional 4 that can be put on a Scout team (rook's and 2nd year guys only). I've currently set it up where each team can keep 24 players, assign an additional 5 as Restricted Free Agents, and the remaining 6 are UFA's. There is a 6 round rookie and undrafted Free agent draft following the conclusion of the offseason free agency period.I'd like feedback on the total number of keepers. Is it too low/high? What are the benefits of making a change? Since it's the first time I'm doing this I'm having a hard time envisioning how some of these rules will play out 3-4 seasons from now.Any Zealots veterans or similar style league setup guys out there who can provide me with feedback. If you are a Zealots player, does Myfantasyleague.com take care of the accounting of the zbucks (league currency) or is it done independently? Thanks

Is this an IDP league? If so how many for each position are req starters?35 spots seems quite low to me. Other leagues that I am in with no RFA/UFA designations have 43 man rosters (plus 5 PS spots in some).

Yes MFL does the accounting.

I am kind of confused though. You say you are having a rook draft and then an undrafted FA draft? I don't get that part at all.

The 35 man roster doesn't have limits regarding offensive versus defensive players but starting lineups are 7 offensive players (inlcuding kicker) and 8 defensive players (DL, LB, DB). Both have flex setups for different formations. There's only one postseason draft. It's predominantly rookies but owners aren't prohibited from selecting an unrestricted free agent as opposed to a rookie. The UFA period will have already concluded so there will be a pool of players, albeit not necessarily strong one's, that are available. I'd like to keep the roster size at 35 players. I'm just curious if the 24 keepers is too high or low. Most of the participants in this league are all newbies to the dynasty format. I'm concerned that larger rosters (45 players) might chase some of them away.

My local league keeps 22 of 32 every year. Cutdown 1 week before draft. It has worked great for 15 years, as there have been no repeat champions. 16 starters.edit: only 4 of 12 make our playoffs.

Thanks for the input. Why do you cutdown before the draft as opposed to in the NFL's preseason?

Before our league's rookie draft, not the NFL draft. And it is always within 2 weeks of the start of the regular season.
