Putting video from YOUTUBE on CBS Sportsline site (1 Viewer)

fyi

to keep the advertisement on the side of the page from encroaching on the sportsline site, adjust the height/width in the tag downward to like 300 and 250 in the HTML coding.

I can't get the movie to appear. I followed the instructions, but only get the story headline, not the video. I copied and pasted it into the story body.

V E R Y C O O L

used this one:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dW8-H_Zldk"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dW8-H_Zldk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

No. It worked super fast and easy but I used a short video.

Does anyone know how to make their logo accept video?

Has anyone had any luck doing this on MFL? I've tried without any luck.
youtube has the "embed" code to the right of the video. Copy that in it's entirety and paste that to a home page message. (you have to be commish for this method) Then go to Home Page setup and place the message module somewhere on the page. Here's mine. Below league standings. I did the TJ Housh because most of the guys don't get NFL Network. NFL's greatest hits is next.

The possibilities are endless....

Creativity can really come out.

There is also some very good fantasy football content on Youtube. You can put like a weekley fantasy advice show on your site.

Footballguys. Jump on a weekly video. It could be great for advertising!

I'll throw it on all of my sites every week.

Another thing you can do is scale it down just a bit so it isn't so big on the main story...

Just change the width to 340 and the height to 280 so it fits nicer on Sportsline

example...

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dW8-H_Zldk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="340" height="280"></embed>

You can also put it in a "league article".

The tag? A little more info please. I can't figure it out. Where is this 'tag'?

Help. I tried to do it and now there is just a big blank space on CBS and I cant change the story, nor can I delete it. Nothing else is showing up. Anyone else have this problem? I only used an 8 second video of two 400 lb guys racing a 40 yard dash!!

This works on ESPN too.. It's just that you have to embed the video to your logo.. I haven't figured out how to embed it to the front page yet..

Not sure if this is possible or not...

Is there any way to have the video open on page opening?

Also,

Is there a way to loop the video?

I'm looking for a way to maximize the effect without the other owners having to do much besides open the page.

Thanks

I copied the text into the article body and put in my own article headline. I am wondering if I should have put the embed text into the Article picture or URL box.

Any help?

Well I posted the embed text into the article body for MFL and all I got was the text.
article or message board? It won't work on the message board. They don't use html tags there.
I did it under league articles.
huh...that's strange. I did it there too with no problem. Gave it a short title, posted the code and nothing else. Worked like a charm.
Code:
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHugHubq0JQ"></param><embed'>[URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHugHubq0JQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHugHubq0JQ"[/URL]></param><embed src="[URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHugHubq0JQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHugHubq0JQ"[/URL] type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Wow, that embed looks a lot longer than the amount of text that I embedded.

I just copied all of that text and put it in the article body and viola!.........still nothing but text. :sadbanana:

Copy that one and give it a shot.

For the mfl technologically challenged, I only got mine to work after I posted the article and then went back in and edited it. Here's where I am not sure what happened. I just clicked on edit article and then save form. For some reason, the videos posted after that.

Huh. Could be a browser thing. I wonder if maybe after posting it you just needed to hit refresh.

Still trying to get RT Sports to work.

But I found

video. Not as good as Whos your Mama, but pretty funny

awesome!

definitely recommend to reduce the size.

anyone know if this will mess up the scoring or anything on the site?

There may be a problem - anyone who has done this, can you please check something for me.

Do any lineup changes made AFTER the video was posted to the site appear on the live scoring screens???

I had an owner alert me of the problem after I posted the video. In inverstigating, I moved Jerome Harrison in for Rod Smith. That change worked, however when I put Smith back in, it wont take Harrison out. This was all after I put the video on

i can't tell exactly, but i think the problems in my leauge MAY have been before I posted the video, but I can't tell for sure b/c I deleted the news story with the video.Anyone else having problems like this???EDIT to say that now the live scoring is fine, but lineup changes aren't showing up immediately.
