And Frank Vincent was a horrible choice to play Phil Leotardo. Just a horrible acting job.

I can't agree with this. His acting was fine in this role.
on board with Jdogg here ... thought Vincent was very, very good as Phil

with Vito's son

sure, he's not Olivier ... or even Gandolfini ... but he works that Brooklyn mafioso shtick to the nth.

I guess Ritchie's a more compelling character. Just seems like Vincent is fine in that role.

Tony Soprano : [over the phone]  It's a bad connection, so I'm gonna talk fast! The guy you're looking for is an ex-commando! He killed sixteen Chechen rebels single-handed! Paulie 'Walnuts' Gual

Sopranos movie prequel in the works according to David Chase

Could have used more Furio before they wrote him out. His first scene in America collecting at the brothel was insane. up in the club cracks me up every time.

Just saw the episode after the Bevilaqua murder again. That scene where the couple discovers who the suspect is is brilliant. That piano music? Pointillist avante garde weirdness perfectly appropriate for an overly educated upper class couple.

Reading Anarchy, State and Utopia, no less.

Exactly. Nice touches in art direction.

Funhouse on HBo now. Boat scene is great.

Best scene ever, imo.
"Hey ####, she even really exist?"So sorry to sound dumb here, but that Puerto Rican chick was all made up, right?

Probably meant to be ambiguous. Earlier in that episode, Paulie told Tony that the whole "Puerto Rico thing" checked out. So even though he was helping the Feds, he probably also did go to PR just to have the alibi. And the way in which he tells the story about the 26-year-old therapist sounded believable enough. And he also had absolutely no reason at that point to make it up. He had already confessed what he did.

"This disinformation #### is an effective technique... it's a friggin ACE!"

:lmao:

Ohhhh, then by all means, keep providing the Feds with information about us! Sorry for the misunderstanding, Puss. We should get back to the marina now.

I think, at that point, the point was that Tony didn't believe a word Sal was saying about anything anymore.

Watching "Fortunate Son" right now.Chrissy: Will your mother loan me the money?Adrianna: She's still paying for her hysterectomy.I don't know why, but that line cracks me up. So weird. Also, the guy schooling Chris in the sportsbook (Oregon has an all-american ####### field goal kicker (still annoyed by the score they set up there)) was Detective Holley on like 4 eps of The Wire and also was a contestant in the Howard Stern Black Superfan competition.

Tony should have just taken Jackie Jr. under his wing instead of trying to force him out. It's interesting to see that Ralphie's actually the one looking out for him.At the end of the day....do people think that Tony wants AJ to follow suit?...Such a great character as you get a sense that Tony wants him to....but wants him out of the life. Same with Meadow.

Would've never happened, but:Meadow >>>>>>>>>> AJ, as far as the temerity to run the Family. She had much more " Soprano" 'in her.

He knew Jackie Sr did not want that so he was trying to respect his dead best friend's wishes.

(how did Furio go from tough guy to Mr. sensitive).

That storyline was the BIGGET injustice in that whole series, ruined the character.

would've been juicier/racier if he turned all wuss for Hunter Scangarella instead of 'mela.
I liked Cacciatore's cameo in the last episode but my word was that girl ugly. I think she was related to show runner David Chase in some way (daughter/niece something like that) Edited by NewlyRetired

:goodposting:

Probably the biggest injustice in television history. Such potential with that character, and that's the way they chose to go.

1359121110' post='15256558']There's so much right with the episode Pine Barrens. Although (and I know its Dead Horse territory), there should have been ramifications to the situation in regards to the Russians. The Russians would have been adversaries going forwards than New York.

It's been a while since I've seen it before last night. Funny how obvious it is now that the Russian is in a tree. It was also I'm sure much more dramatic when you were watching it the first time and expecting him to jump out at any moment. Also forgot that he took their car. I guess we are to assume he was ashamed of what he had become and just drove to California or something.
