Vegas (2 Viewers)

I searched around in this thread but did not see anything about good spots to have your fantasy football draft when in Vegas. I see ESPNZone has a small room and some of the hotels have board rooms which might be possibilities but was wondering if anyone has held there draft (10 guys) in a good spot in Vegas.

TIA

Why not just get a suite? I've never done it in Vegas, but we have our 12-man draft in a hotel suite in Austin every year.

I am planning a business trip out to Vegas for July 9 - July 12. I would need 5 rooms.

Has anyone booked a "group" before like this? Do the hotels tend to give you better deals or is this too small of a group to qualify?

Caesar's needed 10 rooms for me to get a group rate on my bday. Other places may give you better deals though.

I'm in Vegas as I type. I recommend this Red Rocks Resort. It's about 20 minutes from the strip up near the mountains. I booked the "Dinner and a Movie" special. $209 + $25 per day for "resort fees". Included is access to the Spa including steam rooms, saunas, gym and an unbelievable pool area. Also included is 2 buffets per person per day and movie tickets to the in house Imax both nights. The rooms are the nicest I've seen in some time. Huge flat screen, large granite/tile bathtub with a flat screen, views of the mountains free wi/fi. The rooms are very modern and hip...great decor. So for under $300 total you get treated pretty well. Highly recommended. I'll be coming back here.

Red Rocks is my favorite non-strip resort. Great locals joint. I will make out to the M Resort (about 10-15 minutes south of the strip) later this year.

I am not the best person to ask, but you might start with the hotels directly.I got a friend players rate at Encore this past weekend for $229--Wynn will be cheaper, and Bellagio and Mandalay will be cheaper still. Any of the 3 is a HUGE upgrade over Flamingo, and well worth it IMO.
It looks like I can get Flamingo for ~70/ni and belagio is ~180/ni and mandalay ~220/ni. Am i missing something? Looking at their packages, its still not close. If my calculations are right, I can get there and stay at the flamingo for ~700. THeir packages which include flight and hotel start at 1.6k
Mandalay Summer Escape: Promo Code PSUMEM-P2$139/night for those two nights (July 24-26 / 2 nights). Includes $100 cabana credit.Mid week = $85/night.
:goodposting:i just made a reservation at Mandalay (at The Hotel) for April and they gave me $450 in casino chips without me asking--there are lots of deals out there
where did you find this?
I made the reservation through my host and she offered it to me.

The M is nice and the cocktail waitresses consistently have the BIGGEST RACKS I HAVE SEEN IN VEGAS! Each and every one of them. No one is smaller than a D and many seem bigger.Plus 5 dollar craps and BJ.... thumbs down for no Blue Moon and some cheap Hefe.

Place looks sweet! I've driven by it before on the way to see Red Rock Canyon. May have to check it out as I am headed to Vegas in July over the 4th. Can anyone comment on the gaming action? Looks upscale...table limits comparable to the strip I assume.

Normal Vegas gambling. You can find any limit you need. The floor isn't huge but it's adequate for the traffic it receives.

Got back a couple of weeks ago from Vegas, and I will not be going back anytime soon. The place is hurting but the way you are treated by the service people, and the cost of food/rooms, you wouldn't realize that Vegas is on the brink of a collapse. I hope they get their act together soon. Used to be able to go to Vegas for a few days, eat good meals, and do a little gambling on a budget...I think these days are over.

GL Vegas.

You still can...not sure what you mean, maybe just a bad luck trip for you.

Maybe so, but the service, rooms, meals, transportation the whole trip was the suck! I used to go to Vegas at least twice a year, maybe I need a break.

The place was hopping when I was there. Hotel was booked to capacity every night. Drove down the strip on Friday afternoon and it was jam packed.

Me too, granted it was in October. Most of the time, any vacation - gambling involved or not, is what you make of it.

Just got back, finished down $700, I've had much worse trips, so I'm happy about that. Zumanity....eh, nothing special, wouldn't go again, the fishbowl scene was hot, but other than that it wasn't memorable.Ate at Gallaghers in NY NY, it was ok. They had Root:1 cab which is the best bottle of cab you can get under $100, so that was good :)
Got another offer from the Mirage, 3 nights free between June1 and Sept and some free chips. Looks like I'll be heading back out there soon!

We go to Vegas at least once a year and since we have 2 daughters 4/9, we typically stay at Luxor or Excalibur. We are going in June. We just got back from there in March--we have family out there just to stop all the people that will be wondering why we go out there so much with little ones. My kids are travelers and know how to behave on planes and in hotels.

We are looking for somewhere nicer and are considering the Venetian, Mirage or TI. We want a suite.

The TI is obviously the more affordable, but the basic rooms seem to not be as nice as far as what they offer as they are pretty small. The suites only feature 1 king bed--so not an option suite-wise.

The Mirage's regular rooms are $520 (with tax) for 2 nights and they are not suites. Their suites are really expensive considering what you get and paying for strip view doesn't seem worth it.

The Venetian is not a place I would normally think about staying with kids, but their nicer 2 Bedroom suite with strip view is just $575.00 for 2 nights. We are leaning towards this as we have seen some family hotel reviews that were favorable.

The money isn't a concern, but I am just wondering what experiences you have with the Venetian as compared to others.

My kids have seen the volcano, pirate ship, tigers etc....so that isn't a real big deal to stay there because of that.

Thanks...

(oh and no, we are not going to stay at Circus Circus--that place is a dump. And as any parent that has taken a kid there will tell you, you will spend more $$$ at that damn midway then you could possibly spend at any blackjack table.)

Just got back today from Mandalay and there were a lot of kids enjoying the Wave pool - there's a kiddie section with smaller waves.Topless pool reopens next week

You haven't been able to do that on your standard trip to the Strip (i.e. just walking up and not searching out deals) in at least five years.

Oh.. And depending on where you go and the cost, I'd look into getting a Cabana. At Mandalay they were like $250 but, I believe they came with beverages....

We tried to get one but, they sell out fast...

I can see really NEEDING one in the sweltering heat of the summer and with kids.

I love the Venetian. It is the best hotel in Vegas that I've stayed at. If you have the chance, you should do it. The wife will LOVE you for it.

Agreed. The $100 tourney (or is it 120?) at 7 PM each night is great. I've played it a couple times. Won it once. Finished just out of the money the other time. Very soft 4-8 hold-em games too.

Okay, (and I know all of you are just waiting on pins and needles for what we decided :goodposting: ) but we booked the Palazzo. The suite we got there is huge and amazing and it ended up being only $50 or so more than the one at the Venetian. Heck, this place is 2x the size of my first apartment. I know they are basically the same property, but the Palazzo seems to have newer suites. I couldn't pass it up--strip view, sunken living room 3 HD tv's (including one in the bathroom) for around $600.00 for 2 nights.

Pricely I know, but I was looking for something special just to end our vacation with a bang. We are flying into Vegas on the 5th--2 nights at the Luxor, then driving to San Diego--5 nights at the Lowes Coronado Resort (zoo, beach, Seaworld, etc..) and then driving back and ending with this stay for a couple nights. I think the family should be happy. If they are not, I am finding a new one.

Thanks for all the advice....

Economy destroying us guys out here in Colorado

Has anyone been to the new M Resort? If so, how about a review.
Just got back from Vegas last night and had a terrific time as usual. Trade show was at the Mandalay. Put in the requisite multiple visits to the Burger Bar, met the chef, that was cool. Highlight of the trip was the last day when yours truly went on a 39 minute roll at the craps table in the middle of the afternoon. That evening we went to meet a co-worker's brother out at the new M resort. I have to say, that place was very, very sharp. It was about 12-15 minutes from the Mandalay, but I was impressed with the amenities and I have to say, had terrific service on the casino floor from every one of the dealers, waitresses, pit bosses, etc. After gambling with the robots they have at the Mandalay, it was almost like a reminder of what service should be in Vegas.

heading back out to vegas for work first week in June for work.

What is the new "in" show these days?

Saw Le Reve and Love in the fall.

Ka?

Stayed at Palazzo in fall. Highly recommended. Staying at Cesar's next will will certainly be a let down.

:thanks:gonna try the $20 trick and hope for the best. I am tend to be pretty open minded. (my point was that the Palazzo was pretty "wow" when all was said and done).

Cool...thanks. Headed to Vegas July 4th-8th and will probably make the drive down to check this place out.

Yep. I've been lamenting it since my last trip 2 years ago. The old days are long gone.

Headed to Vegas June 22nd for a couple of days, still not sure where we are staying at but I definitely want to take the wife out to a good show, any recommendations for a site to find them that won't break the bank?

Since Vegas and spending money is pretty much relative to your situation, how much is "breaking the bank"?Are you willing to spend $50 for a show? $100? $150? There's shows in all price ranges so it really depends on how much you're willing to spend.

I'm thinking of going to KA, with the 30% off for military and 35 dollar tickets for kids I could pull this off for under 300

Anyone been to Mario Batali's places? Did you like them? Which ones would you recommend?

Headed to Vegas June 22nd for a couple of days, still not sure where we are staying at but I definitely want to take the wife out to a good show, any recommendations for a site to find them that won't break the bank?

KA gets good reviews. They say the theatre alone is pretty "wow". Ate dinner next door to theater, some creepy actors roaming around in costume. Looked cool. The W's favorite was Le Reve.
