Are you looking for shows, site seeing, low limits??? You can kill a whole day almost just walking the strip. Tiring but you get a view if all the casinos and hotels

Probably not shows.... although this thread has me interested in the Mac King Show.

I am more of a tournament poker player, plus I figure that will stretch the gambling money out a bit. So maybe a couple of $50 tournies or sit-n-go if they're around.

Figured we would walk a lot of the strip. Sounds like it won't be too hard to do this on a low budget and still have the Vegas experience (besides the night-life).

Just fishing for ideas I guess.

You're in Vegas for the first time with free flight and board. If there is ever a time to max out the credit cards and splurge the first time in Vegas is the time to do it.

Not saying you have to go broke but I was able to do everything I've wanted to do in Vegas while working as a waiter during college. Cover for clubs are 20-40 and girls usually get in free or discounted. Just make sure to get a good buzz beforehand so 1 or 2 $15 drinks at the club will put you at the optimum level.

My last Vegas trip I spent not including room and board about 2k for myself (1200 in gambling losses). That's going to clubs 4 nights, a pool party, and seeing Love. I think that's fairly reasonable for a 4 night/5 day stay and I had a blast.

I kind of agree with this. Our first time we did it up at the Venetian. Got lucky when they screwed up our reservation and we ended up with some great comps. 4 club comps , open bar, etc

Here are a few pics from the recent trip (wife took a ton). Still unsure if I should post these, not sure the wife would approve. So if you know me don't mention it ;)

HAZE CLUB - drunk lady took the pic of me and wife so it's a bit off

I gotta say, you look a lot like me. It's kind of strange.

98000 after 14 levels.  in the

Made day 2.  Started with 10k. Ended with 29.5k.    373 left.  I'm 104th.  128 get paid.  Grinded like a mf with 4800 to 8 k chips levels 2 to 7.

I don't have an AJ offsuit busted on the turning river lingo to share, but took the fam to Vegas for the first time this week (their first time, not mine).  Had a great time despite the 115 degree hea

How do I do this? I've never used priceline, and when I go to the site the prices listed for those two are much higher.

I know tipping is a sensitive subject in the FFA, but for those of you that have used Patty to get tickets to shows, do you/have you thrown her a bone for the service she is providing? How would that even be accomplished? can you paypal someone money for "a job well done"???

I've not used her, but I would think a tip is in order. Anyone who provides a service, especially a specialized one like this. If you are not meeting her to pick up the tickets, then yes you can just paypal $10 or whatever to her assuming she has an account.

Kinda feel bad I didn't even think to tip her. Then again on top of the cost she does add a $15-$20 delivery fee.

That's probably all she is making on the deal...

Highly doubt it. She probably gets these tickets comped as a manager or something and instead of giving them to friends she sells them. She makes at least $100 per pair.Someone in here had a story of how the tickets didn't work. Patty made a call, told them to meet so and so, and bam they got in. She's definitely making money.

That may very well be the case, but that really wasn't the point of the initial question - whether a tip is in order or appropriate. I believe it is, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I agree. Like I said I didn't even think to tip. I paid through paypal and then she just left the tickets at the front desk of the hotel. If it would have been a face to face meeting I definitely would have tipped her, but doing the deal through e-mail and text it just slipped my mind.

I can see that...and actually thinking about it more, not sure a tip is needed if they are just left at the desk. Obviously it's still a nice gesture afterward, especially if they were very good seats at a good price.

Was in Vegas a little over a week ago and don't have time for a full review, but wanted to pass one thing along. Absinthe - at the Caesar's Palace Spiegelworld - is my new favorite show in Vegas. It's crude - I think I heard the F word 150 times in 90 minutes - but if off-color humor doesn't offend you, and you like Cirque style shows, you'll LOVE Absinthe.

The show was hilarious, the acts were uber-entertaining and I got $20 offer per ticket here - $20 Off Absinthe. 5-Stars - I HIGHLY recommend.

Wanted to give this post some love. I got back earlier in the week and we checked this out. We actually didn't need to buy the tickets online, just walk past the box office in front of Ceaser's and they gave us 4-$20 off tickets, so final tally was like $55/each. Show was hilarious, I would highly recommend it. There's some cool stuff that they do too, the roller skating/spinning couple are sick....and everything except for the finale where they finish with a pretty lame "high wire" act was cool.

The MC guy and his gal side kick though cracked me the eff up the whole show.

13 days for me!!

Where are you staying?
I'm a downtown guy, so staying at the Nugget. Just a guys weekend and downtown is much more conducive to gambling (being able to move around easily from place to place) than the strip. We will make our way to the strip on Sunday for NFL action...not sure where yet, possibly Mandalay Bay. Have heard they have a nice sports book. You?

I just booked last night. Go to Priceline and click on the "Name Your Price" link. Select five star hotel: North Strip. Bid $130 and you should get accepted. It's the Palazzo. As far as I know the only other five star North strip hotel is the Wynn, so you'll be good either way. If you feel like gambling go with $120 or $125! :excited:

Start at $110 and use free rebids to increase in $5-$10 increments on 5 star hotels for zones that don't have 5 star properties. The hotel/zone list is here. www.betterbidding.com

Booked three rooms through my Total Rewards comps, so i had to go with Imperial Palace. A couple of the others on the trip dont have FBG-type bankroll so i went the cheaper route (i.e. free room).

Loved my trip at the end of July. Harrah's has me from now on, left my iphone in a bathroom stall there and someone actually turned it in to lost & found at the hotel! What are the odds of that? Showed them some love on the craps table for that and had 2 positive sessions of up $300~$400 each time. Of course I was there for 5 days and gave it all back and then some.

One of my craps sessions had a guy come up mid long roll and wait for the shooter to finally crap out. Dude puts $100 on the don't pass and it almost immediately pays off for him and kills the vibe at the table. Meanwhile they open a 2nd table across from us (this was mid-week afternoon, slow-time) and he heads to that table after his one hit on the Don't. About 30 minutes later, the same guy starts screaming out "of course! how about some more fire!" and various similar loud expletives all pissed off. Pit boss goes to check it out, guy was on a 5 at the time and then proceeds to roll all 6 on the Fire bet! AND NO ONE WAS ON IT. I'd probably give up gambling if I rolled the 6 on the fire and didn't at least have a dollar down.

Didn't use Patty, my friends found a deal online for La Reve at the Wynn. I recommend going for the "splash zone" tickets, we ended up with front row seats. I've never been to a Cirque show (this actually isn't Cirque, but similar) but it was freaking sweet, absolutely loved it. May have helped I had a bottle of wine at SW for dinner beforehand.

Just booked my trip in Nov, will try to use Patty for this trip since my girlfriend is coming with this time.

Going to Mandalay Bay with my Wife October 19th through 22nd. Never been to Mandalay Bay. Any suggestions regarding Resturants or things to do

there?

As for shows, Is the Lion King any good? We are also interested in possibly seeing Ka or Love. Any reviews would be welcome.

How is MB's poker room? Will be playing some 1-2 (or 1-3) NLHE.

I was drunk and forgot to do this. Hit 7 points total (8, twice) and NO ONE WAS ON THE FIRE. Still came up about $1000, but damn.

Just saw Lion King last week, it was decent. Lots of kids though, including a crying one whose mom inexplicably didn't bring him out of the theater for like 10 minutes. MB's poker room is OK, but small. Fairly touristy, although you can probably catch more fish by taking the tram to Excalibur. Good cheap tournaments at both places. I would reccomend dinner or drinks at Mix, at the top of the The Hotel...great view, we had good food and service last week. Awesome pool area too of course, if the weather holds for you.....

The House of Blues books cover bands most nights but if you happen to be in there on a night where they have a decent act, it's a good place to see a show.

Was at the Luxor last week. Total Shit hole and I won't ever go back there. MB next door had better tables and restaurants.

Heading out again next week with the wife, going to see "O" and then maybe a comedy show. I used the famous Patty for tickets and saved about $100. We'll see how the seats are.

Wife wants to go on a gondola ride at the Venetian, anybody eaten at The Grill there?

I enjoyed my stay at the Mandalay Bay last week. We booked through priceline and got an upgrade to a suite because we wanted a king size bed. They also let us go to the bar at the top of the hotel "Complimentary". Great view of the strip.

Played some poker and came out a little bit ahead. My wife had a harder time as young, aggressive players were playing macho poker against her

and she wasn't getting the cards to take advantage. When she did get in good on a big hand, she got rivered on a runner-runner flush.

Ate at Stripsteak which was delicious. Not quite as good as "Cut" at the Venetian, but also not quite as pricey.

Didn't see any shows, but overall we had a really nice time.

Just bumping this as Absinthe is open again! It went dark after their initial run ended, but they're back. Am hoping for a January trip and will go to this show again for sure.
