Whoever suggested Yardbirds at the Veneitian, thank you!! That was the best fried chicken and hot sauce I've ever had. Freaking great!

Now it's off to play in the Venetian nightly tournament.
Was coming to ask about Yardbird, can't wait to eat there. Did you get the watermelon?

Yes, it was great! My son didn't like it but he's a pretty plain type for eating. The waffle was fantastic too. There's a meal that has chicken, waffle and watermelon. You should get that.

Well, $200 entry fee tournament with 100 players. Paid 10 places. It started at 7 pm. I played until 2 am and was knocked out in 14th place. Man that sucked!

Played the $550 today at the palm beach kennel club. Raised pot with 29 left As-Kx all in on a S-S-S flop, called by Ks-Kx.

Gg.

Would have been top 5 in chips if I caught up.

Menu says for 2-4 people. Would it be enough for 2 adults and a 12 yo girl? Probably get mac n cheese and biscuits to go with it.

Well, my son (21) ordered the combo and I ordered the half chicken and we finished it all. If you aren't a big eater and your girls don't eat too much it might be ok, but you should be prepared to order a bit more.

Pretty cool to take your 21 year old son to Vegas. Is he living it up?

Well, he's very straight-laced but I'm working on him. Got him to drink some amaretto sours and play black Jack. He won $100 playing BJ so he's pretty happy. And he realized that he likes amaretto sours...

What night clubs would you recommend for a group of 8 married 35yos to hit perhaps without bottle service and move on. Thinking to hit 1 or 2 spots early and see if we like either.

Despite being in Vegas 25 times I've never once done the night club scene. And going on Labor Day weekend so I'm sure it will be a madhouse.

The Sapphire pool and dayclub has a program where you can play DJ for an hour. It costs $3500, but comes with five bottles of champagne and $2500 food and beverage credit. If you're bringing a large crew out during pool season, this seems like the shark play.

Link probably NSFW

Reading about Yardbird on the Las Vegas message board, and apparently they have a blue plate special off the menu. Two pieces, biscuit and watermelon for $15.

That's a good deal. It's pricey chicken but good. I think I paid $26 for a half chicken - four pieces. Add on watermelon and waffle and it's $36.

We went over to The Mob museum across the street afterwards. Admission was $20 and well worth it. We were in there for over 2 hours. Definitely worth to see when you are looking for a break from drinking & gambling.
Just got back from Vegas and I think the Mob Museum was one of my favorite spots. It's not what I would call a typical museum - it had many interactive displays and videos. It even included the violent history of the Mob, pics included. One of the guides said they spent over $40 million to build it. Very cool place.

Flying out early Friday morning, staying until Monday afternoon. Plans so far only include seeing Halestorm at HoB on Saturday night and NFL Overload on Sunday.

Will be fun to take a more casual approach Friday and Monday seeing some of the hidden gems.

Just booked a 3 night stay at Aria for the wife and myself. As always really looking forward to great food, Aria's awesome spa and craps at NY.NY, and Planet Hollywood (our two favorite casinos on the strip) all night for three nights.

Vegas baby.

Just got back from this strip last weekend. Town is a little dead which is to be expected this time of year. It was funny to see people wearing t-shirts for the UFC fight that lasted 13 seconds. Big rodeo in town at Thomas and Mack so there were a lot of cowboys around and not enough women.

Stayed a LINQ. Pretty nice spot. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a midrange place with a good location. We paid $190/night for a suite.

Biggest takeway from this trip? USE UBER. They are a third the cost of Taxis. Yeah, sometimes you are coordinating with the driver to meet you by the bush or something outside valet but the service and price is so much better.

Heading there Friday with the wife for our annual anniversary trip. Staying at the Venetian. Nothing super special planned. Just felt like posting.

Anyone aware of any promotion codes for airlines/hotel for a trip that could potentially happen on December 26th through the 28th?

Can you UBER between the strip and airports? I think in Chicago (where I live), Uber isn't allowed to be at airports.

I didn't know you can uber in vegas...I'll definitely be using that next time.

Just has a fantastic time the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Saw some excellent shows...V and Zumanity.

Can't wait to go again.

Yes.

I kept asking them "is Uber allowed?" questions and the answer was mainly "they can't stop us". I don't think there are any regulations around it in LV.

Just got back today and I already can't wait to be back. Hiked Little Zion and Whiskey peak. Played way too much roulette. Got lucky as can be in the sportsbook hitting an 8 teamer and a 6 teamer. Enjoyed some good beer.

I'm heading to Vegas for my annual March Madness trip in March, but this year is special - my buddy and I are celebrating our 50th birthdays while we are there.

I'm looking for a suite that is good for 2 guys (we must have 2 beds minimum), and maybe 4 (a couple dudes could crash on the sofa). Money is kind of an issue, but not really. I'm willing to spend around $1K per night if needed, so none of these $5K per night places.

I'm looking at a suite at the Venetian but it's only about 400 sq. ft. bigger than their standard room, but I love that place.

Any suggestions?

I'm hearing table limits are going down across the board. The major hotels are hemorrhaging cash from operations and at least a couple of hotels are looking at suspending operations soon.

I'm no high roller but I'm getting offers for $39 a night from any MGM property basically without any 2 night stay basically anywhere but holiday weekends thru the Summer. No idea if that's any good, but if looking at making a trip check all your emails for deals.

Airfare is also unreal. Going out this weekend and got a rt DFW for $169!!!! Haven't ever seen it that low. Will easily be the cheapest trip I've done air and hotel.

Random question, I can't remember, but do you play O8 or are you strictly hold'em?
Mostly Hold-em. I will play O8 on occasion or while waiting for a Hold-em table. I am a MUCH better Hold-em player than O8.

dayum. for how much
15 dollar bet paid 2265

10 dollar bet paid 850(had a moneyline as one of legs)

I seldom make more than a 25 dollar bet and usually just do $10 parlays.

On a side note we had secret pizza again on a whim at cosmo and it was a ton better than I remembered. The crust was that perfect crisp and i liked the heavy garlic flavor. Wife and I agreed it tasted completely different than previous two times.

Not sure why this project has fascinated me, but it looks like Resorts World International might be dead in the water like Fountainbleu. Its a shame because the renderings looked amazing.

Icon seems to be a good source of info on these kind of questions.

Elara. Nice 2/3/4 BR units just set just a BIT back from the strip. Lots of independent parties renting rooms. If you're on FB, message this guy and let me know. I'll shoot him a message to let him know you're "coming".

Palms Place. Off strip but nice setup. Sleeper sofa in living room and in second bedroom so 4 beds technically. Very modern. Fair rates. Stayed here for a bachelor party once. 4 guys and it was very comfortable.

I've stayed in Palms place as well. I enjoyed it. Big rooms, very nice, and like Icon said affordable. But be ready to cab everywhere and no casino in the building.

I always recommend Jockey Club if you don't care about how nice the rooms are. Located under Cosmo and they have 2 bedroom / 2 bath suites that are affordable and in a great location.

What happened to the casino at the palms?

Palms Place is a separate tower.

What are exact dates you are going?

Ever try hotwire? Also is a casino on lobby floor a must have?

2nd Floor iirc, I guess it could be 3, but you just go up one escalator. The hallway to get to it is near the pool table area

Yep, those are my dates, except we are staying the 17-22.

We are probably going to book the 1100 sq. ft. suite at the Venetain for about $450 while we look for other things.

We really want to stay on the strip. We have stayed at the Rio a few times and didn't really dig being away from the strip. I have stayed at Aria and that was pretty cool, but their suites are all sold out.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
