Mike and the Mad Dog show (Not Done!) (2 Viewers)

used to be a big fan - still am somewhat, but this past year he turned a corner, and is now firmly in the "mail it in" portion of his career. He and Russo clearly need each other.
The reunion will be epic...cant wait for Russo's contract to be up at sirius. His channel is dying a horrible painful death.
Is he feuding with the guy on after him? Funny how MD is the boss but still gets undermined? Tells you how much pull he has on his own station
The overnight guy bashes Russo constantly. That station is a clusterf***. Russo is a lot of things, but Station Management is best left to people who have done it before.

My favorite thing about Francesa continues to be how he interviews himself. It's magnified this week at the Super Bowl. Here's how it typically goes:1) Francesa asks a question2) The guest begins to answer3) Francesa cuts him off 4 or 5 words in, then finishes the answerI refuse to believe there is a more pompous person on the face of the earth.

:goodposting: he does this all the time. Its sickening

Whether he's berating callers before hanging up on them, or falling asleep live on the air while a guest is talking to him, WFAN radio host Mike often irritates many people due to his arrogance and know-it-all attitude. So on Sunday when it was reported that he got a police escort to his flight from Laguardia to New Orleans for the Super Bowl, you can imagine the reaction it received.Aaron Nagler of Bleacher Report, who was on the same flight as Francessa on Sunday, tweeted, "Francesa is on our flight. He gets a police escort? Seriously?"After hearing about this, Francesa took about 5 minutes at the open of his show Monday afternoon to explain his side of the story.
What is with all the heavy breathing in the background. Somebody getting off listening to Fatso??

Can't wait to hear the show on Monday. Totally expecting him to take full credit for Parcells being a Hall of Famer.

He gets a tiny bit imo. He carries a lot of weight (no pun intended) and did not let up on the voters all year. And Parcells was not a lock...his discussion period was the longest today.I just think Mike is the man so I'm always ready to praise him.

I can assure you that Francesa had zero to do with Bill's induction. He's not a voter, and his fellow media members who do vote wouldn't care what he babbles about.

Can't agree. Think he is highly regarded in the media despite what that jealous loser Mushnick thinks.

I like you, man. I can't understand your defense of Francesa. He's a know-it-all, pompous, arrogant, mean-spirited ASS who condescends to the very people who got him to where he is. And Mushnick correctly points that out at every turn, which is why I love him.
I've been listening to the guy almost daily for 25 yrs. I have a ton of respect for his knowledge of baseball and football, which are the only sports I care about. I can't wait for him to break down a big game or big moment, nobody better imo. He is incredibly arrogant and rude but it just doesn't bother me; I find it funny. Believe me, I understand your take. My group of friends are pretty divided on him and we've had some epic drunk arguments over it.

Wow RBM is the first person i ever heard who LIKES francesa
How does he get huge ratings? Who do you think is listening?
The same reason me and RN listen to him. To see what a ##### he is. It makes good radio
I think he's knowledgeable and he gets good guests, but yeah, I shake my head pretty often at what a completely miserable, pompous ####### he can be. Usually I find it comical though, and it adds to the entertainment value.I do think there is something not right with him, maybe depression or a painkiller addiction.

"Here is it, folks. Without further ado. Our Super Bowl recap with all the trimmings. First of all, that ENORMOUS delay last night... I mean, let's be honest. The idearr that you can have the lights go out in their building in a big spot like that is utterly ridiculous. It was SCARY bad! No one in America would have predicted that."

I'll be curious to hear if he cites the horrible officiating as a factor at all. He always seems reluctant to slam the refs to the extent that it could have affected the outcome, yet to me the Ravens got call after call and it was clearly a major factor.

Dat halftime show was a little too much. I made Jack go in da udda room afta a minute of it. Dis Beyoncer is a popular R&B singa dat I don't know much about. We saw a little too much of her last night. Can we get uhh maw respectable act next yee uh? Day got Faith Hill doin da pre game song fuh NBC all season. She would be good faw da halftime show. Back afta dis.

I know that tone in Mike's voice. He got it, played along politely and took the next call. He does that whenever a prank call doesn't get dumped for profanity.
Yeah he does that whenever he gets pranked. Takes it right in stride. Doesn't bother him at all. Not even continuously for the past week.Like today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDC6oyaWnuc&feature=youtu.be
I guess. But then why add the line about not knowing of any others anyway?

I love when i mention this to someone and they never heard about it or saw the video. Then you both view the video together (him for the first time, me for the millionth) and its like losing your virginity all over again watching their reactions.

I had to go out for a couple of hours during the games today, so I listened to Francesa as he bounces around and gives updates of all the NCAA tourney games. Always a guilty pleasure this time of year. Anyway, at about 4:30 he is recapping some of the earlier action, when he casually says "And I TOLD YOU that Pitt wasn't coming back!"

I had been listening to him since the first half of the Pitt game. So when, you ask, did he first tell us that Pitt wasn't gonna come back?

Right hand to God, it was when Wichita State was up by 15 points with four minutes left.

HOW DOES HE DO IT!!!

:lmao:

Such a fraud.

"Everyone is picking Oregon in this game. I mean everywhere you look ok? Everyone you ask ok? Everyone is picking Oregon. And when everyone picks an upset it makes you go hmmm"

Did you hear when he almost had a stroke because the refs reviewed a 3-pointer when the shooter was "TEN FEET BEHIND THE AWWWK!" ... which resulted in St. Mary's being able to huddle up and design a play when they had no more timeouts?

I think Fatty has actually lost his marbles. It's sad to watch.

Today, he read about the draft philosophy of new Jets GM John Idzik. He then goes on to criticize the philosophy, in addition to screaming "HOW CAN HE HAVE A DRAFT PHILOSOPHY WHEN HE'S NEVER EVEN RUN A DRAFT BE-FOWAAA???"

Huh?

Minutes later, a caller challenges this ridiculousness and (correctly) points out that you can certainly have a philosophy about something you've never previously tried: "How about when someone is starting a business, Mike? They have to have a philosophy, right?"

Mike's answer? ... "What percentage of new businesses fail? 90 percent???"

:loco:

Oh, so even if the business failed, I guess that means there was no philosophy in place. Moron.

None of this is a surprise.

, because he hates anything associated with the Jets, as we all know.

I almost want the Jets to go on a magical run in 2013.

I'd get a slingbox just to watch Francesa on YES foam at the mouth while I'm at work as the Jets waive at him through a crack in the locker room door.

You don't need a slingbox. Here, I'll quickly recap every Mike's On show.

:lmao: i heard this too. He made no sense. Why cant the guy have a philosophy? And his defense of his comment was even more confusing

You guys hear him going nuts about Twitter yesterday (again)? There were rumors about him hanging them up after the NYC Super Bowl in 2014, and I really thought that Twitter and the online world being against him was going to be 75% of the reason he chose to go. I'm happy we'll be getting more entertainment for years to come.

If the Jets made a miracle run and made it to the Superbowl this year that would be drive him crazy. The Superbowl held in his own backyard at MetLife stadium and having zero access to the Jets, coaches and players. He'll lose his ####.

A guy can dream, right?

I enjoy Mike's fair and impartial treatment of the Jets.

Just telling it like it is - a half ### run organization whose main concern is to gouge their fans and ticketholders for as much cash as they can. Almost Mets-like.

I love when he gets prank calls. Handles it so well.

A FFA lead takeover of his call-in lines would be unbelievable.

You guys are insane. This is the king of sports radio in this country. Nobody breaks down a big game or captures a moment like him. His show after a big game is absolute must listen. Also very respected in the sports world amongst players and coaches.

I love ya RN but you obviously can't turn the guy off.

He lost his fastball big time and doesn't know how to get people out with his new stuff

Not even sure he watches "big games" in their entirety anymore

His Jets hatred is downright beautiful at this point, absolute perfection, like a snowflake or a newborn infant. To say he's merely hilarious when he bashes the Jets is an insult. I relish it so much.
