12 MEN ON THE FIELD LEAGUE (play 12 starters per week)

The league is unique because it is a NON-TRANSACTION LEGAUE. We draft a Large Roster of 34 players (5 QBs, 8 RB’s 10 WR’s, 4 TE’s, 4 Kickers, 3 DEFENSE UNITS. That is all done before the season begins (of course). Once the season begins (August 28th) all Rosters are Frozen and there are NO FREE AGENT PICK UPS, NO TRADES (no draft pick trades), and there is no DL/ INJURY replacement picks ups. -The Roster size was designed to withstand BYE WEEKS and INJURIES.

What does a NON-TRANSACTION LEAGUE DO FOR YOU? Gives you a fair shot . . .everyone is in the same boat. You won’t need to be at your computer searching the results of every game; looking for “hidden/or rather obvious” Gems to Free Agent pickup. Your opponents are not ALLOWED to pick up a Different DEF UNIT every week (which NEGATES the point of DRAFTING Elite DEF UNITS onto rosters at all!). THERE ARE SIMPLY TOO MANY QUALITY FREE AGENTS TO BE PICKED UP WEEKLY TO ALLOW “WIDE OPEN” FREE AGENCY IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL. If you want that type of league, it is simple to find . . Just go to WWW.USPORTS.COM and join a public league as these are leagues with just the most basic rules and point systems. You’ve got to be a Free Agent hound to win these type of leagues . Because of the mass of quality players that remain undrafted in 10-16 team leagues . . . .Leagues either limit the talent pool (say only the BCS conference schools), or they have a ton of fantasy teams in the league (say 32), or limit the amount of Free Agent moves (say 10). All these leagues will still have you at your computer … searching the for good FAs every week. Even when limited to a small amount, you’ll still be searching wondering “when should I use 1 of my few moves and on who?“ That is why I have gone the step further (limiting FA moves is the best of the above ideas) , To DRAFT Large Rosters so that you that Free Agency can be banned once the season starts (the result saves you TIME). This league is designed for the guy in multiple leagues (still in Baseball, and starting NFL as well and/or another college league). If you don’t have to worry about ANY Roster changes by anyone in the league once the season starts. . .then you just have your 34 players to manage (& have a deep enough roster to make PLAY/SIT interesting). NOW YOU CAN PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL, with every chance on winning the league without having to invest your life into weekly research , Trade offers and trying to keep up with the “free agent JONES‘” who are hounding the Free Agent wire constantly!

TEAMS = 10 FANTASY TEAMS split into 2 divisions. It is a WEEKLY HEAD TO HEAD match up with a regular season of 13 weeks and the playoffs taking place weeks 14 & 15.

ROSTER POSITIONS: 5 QBs, 8 RB’s 10 WR’s, 4 TE’s, 4 Kickers, 3 Def Units = 34 total

Weekly starting lineup: 2 QB’s 3 RB’s 4 WR’s 1 TE, 1 Kicker, 1 def unit = 12 Starters

All Division 1 players are eligible to be drafted and every player may be used in any of his 12/13 games.

There are no opponent restrictions. (can play vs. a D-2 school)

**P O I N T S Y S T E M **

Fractional points are given so that every yard/reception/completion is rewarded equally before bonuses.

There are added bonuses for game-breaking performances and reaching milestone yardage markers. The points are communilative-so players collect each bonus point as they surpass each milestone . .example: if your QB throws for 400+ yards . . He reached and passed all milestones and gets 8 fantasy bonus points)

2 Point Coverts: Passing, Rushing & Receiving = 4 fantasy points (most people give 2)

(I think they are far more difficult/ more important than their real-life point value)

Passing: No. of Completions = 0.10 /each comp.Yards = 0.05 (20yards = 1 point)

Passing QB: T Ds = 4 point (they get 6 for a Rush T D as you would expect)

Interceptions (-1) per INTERCEPTION (plus once a QB throws #2 in a game a negative bonus comes into play. If he throws 1 INT (you end up with -1), with his second (that is (-3) total or 1.5per INT, and with his third he gets (-6) or (-2) per INT

PASS YARDAGE MILESTONE MARKERS:

+1 bonus point for reaching 250 total passing yard

+1 bonus point for reaching 275 total passing yards

+2 bonus points for reaching 300 total passing yards (the gold standard for QB’s)

+1 bonus point for reaching 325 total passing yards (note a bonus after 400y would make

+1 bonus point for reaching 350 total passing yards G Harrell(texTech) too powerful-and

+1 bonus point for reaching 375 total passing yards reward teams for NOT RUNNING)

+1 bonus point for reaching 400 total passing yards (a bonus after this would be overkill)

Rushing: No. of Rushes = ZerO Yards = 0.10 of a point T Ds = 6

RUSHING YARDAGE MILESTONES:

+1 bonus point for reaching 50 total rushing yards(low mark benefits RUNQB/slash plyrs)

+2 bonus points for reaching 100 total rushing yards (the gold standard of rushing)

+1.5 bonus points for reaching 125 total rushing yards

+1.5 bonus points for reaching 150 total rushing yards

+1 bonus point for reaching 175 total rushing yards

+1 bonus point for reaching 200 total rushing yards

Receiving: No. of Receptions= 0.10 Yards =0.10 of a point T Ds = 6

RECEIVING YARDAGE MILESTONES:

+1 bonus point for reaching 50 total receiving yards (low mark benefits slash players,

+1 bonus point for reaching 70 total receiving yards receiving RBs, TE’s as well

+2 bonus points for reaching 100 total receiving yards (the gold standard of Rec.)

+1 bonus point for reaching 125 total receiving yards as it creates a sm. separation

+1 bonus point for reaching 150 total receiving yards B/T low/average WR stat days.)

+1 bonus point for reaching 175 total receiving yards

+1 bonus point for reaching 200 total receiving yards

LONG TOUCHDOWN PLAY BONUS: (a play must result in a T D to bonus)

+2 bonus points for Scoring a TD from 40+ yards away for rush, receiving, and passing

+2 bonus points for Scoring a TD from 80+ yards away for rush, receiving, and passing

(so an 80 yard Rush/rec TD is worth 10 points 6+2(40 yard bonus), +2 (hit the 80 yard bonus)

A QB would score an 8 point TD for an 80+ yard pass)

Individual Special Teams returner T Ds: Punt Returns = 8 Kickoff Returns = 10

Kicker Points: Field Goals 0-29 yards = 4 30-39 yards = 5 40-49 yards = 8 50+ yards = 10

Extra Point = ZERO points in this league (thus the higher FG points)

+1 bonus point for reaching 2 total FGs/gm +1 bonus point for reaching 3 total FGs/gm

+1 bonus point for reaching 4 total FGs/gm +1 bonus point for reaching 5 total FGs/gm

+1 bonus point for reaching 6 total FGs/gm +1 bonus point for reaching 7 total Fgs/gm

(note Kickers are not more valuable by these points, just a different group of Kicker are valuable (guys who kick a lot of Field Goals/for long distance) By this system, UAB’s kicker Swayze Waters (what a great name!) is the top returning kicker in the nation . . He hit 8-10 from +40, and 3-4 from +50!(22 total FG) But UAB is so bad (only 21 extra points) that he won’t make 99% of fantasy leagues out there! (I haven’t seen a league that doesn’t credit an ex. Point He(& his kind) are in this league without question!

Defense UNITS (not def/sp tm units): Defensive T Ds = 9 Punt Return T Ds and Kickoff Return T Ds =ZERO for the defense (points go to the individual player who made the T D)

Safeties = 5 Fumbles =3 Interceptions = 3 Sacks = 1

Points Allowed: 0 (a shutout) =15 fantasy points 2-6 =10 fantasy points 7-10 = 8 fantasy points 11-13= 6 fantasy points

14-21= 4 fantasy points 22-28= 2 fantasy points 29-34= 0 fantasy points 35+= ( -6) fantasy points

+1 bonus point for every 3 sacks by a defensive unit in a game(3s=1. 6s=2, 9s=3)

*******THE LIVE DRAFT / THE pre-season FREE AGENT DRAFT(2nd half of the draft)******

THE LIVE DRAFT is scheduled for: SATURDAY-AUGUST 16th 9:30 pm e.s.t.

THE ALL IMPORTANT DRAFT ORDER: WILL BE DETERMINED RANDOMLY BY Usports.com. Once we all log in for the LIVE DRAFT . . .just 20 minutes prior to the first picking team being on the clock: is when the order will finally be known. The Draft Order snakes back and forth from each round. If you pick 10th, you pick 11th and not again until pick #30. If you pick First, you pick 20th and 21st. There is a 2 min. draft clock, but I think most picks will take less than 1 min. Because we enter the season with a Roster of 34 players . . Drafting all 34 rounds in one NIGHT would take too long time for most guys taste. For this reason the draft will be a 2 stage event:

Stage 1 (the LIVE DRAFT rounds 1-25), SAT AUGUST 16th

stage 2 (the Drafting of rounds 26-34 via message board) Sun 17th-wed 27th (how that works exactly, you can find out if you go into the league site and read my more detailed information about it.)

Usports.com charges you 11.95 for a team($15 in you wait until August). Beyond that, it costs nothing. (winner will be mailed the League Trophy for winning this league.) If your already in a college fantasy league, your way ahead of the game as you are practically ready for this draft (since it likely occurs later than yours and you already A-have your own Big Board, and B-have seen how a Draft has played out!

Name of the league: 12 MEN ON THE FIELD LEAGUE

League password is given to those who are interested and email me atNeil_young_plays@yahoo.com to obtain it. Then you can sign up or view the league closer on your own.
