to answer OP,...NO.

Joined up the other day in an effort to try to have some communication with my kids. Nothing more. Spent nearly an hour setting up all the privacy settings. Pain in the rear, but my kids have now been talking to me somewhat.I don't spend more than a few minutes a day on it and I don't think it will ever be more than that.

I was browsing through random pictures and profiles Tuesday night, a lady caught my eye so I sent a friendship request just for the heck of it. Soon my request was accepted followed almost immediately by her popping up in the FB chat. We have chatted quite a bit the past few nights, exchanged a few emails and texts.

She is making plans to fly in for a visit next week. :lmao:

Dead serious. Some updates I missed Wednesday...

Day 2 of No A/C and low on cash...geez...but really, it could be worse. The Lord is testing my Faith & Trust in Him and I continue to believe in His mercy, grace & favor that He will see me through this trial! I shall continue to praise Him!!!While I am going through this trial, the devil sure knows how to try to get us off course...but he will not win because as long as I have God on my side, this too shall pass. I will go through the valley of death but God will bring up to the mountain top to praise His glory!!!Tomorrow I'm going to have 1 more person to look at unit for a 2nd opinion. Josh has given me a glimpse of hope!!! (Praise God!). I will keep you all posted! OH, two blessing God has done for me last night & today... Between last night & today He has kept the weather under 100 degrees! Luckily I've never met her. She saw my picture in a mutual friend's photo album and sent a friend request. I hesitantly accepted. Then she asked if she could text me and/or meet me for happy hour. I politely declined. Think I told her I had a girlfriend, which may have even been true.

I have spent hours chatting with her and she has an incredible life story that I believe to be true….but it is the internet so I have to be a bit skeptical and I don’t want to post details until maybe after I see how this plays out.

There will be no pictures for a while, if ever.

I am 50, divorced and raising a 14 y.o. She is 30, never married, no kids.

just to be clear... she is obviously some over religious nutjob. But, she sends random facebook friend requests to people she doesn't know, wants to meet for happy hour - presumably to drink alcohol - with a possible attempt to strike up a relationship? Those don't add up at all.

I understand why you didn't meet her :lmao: , but oh the stories you could have had! She would have probably thanked God for the beautiful beer he just supplied her with.

How do you single guys meet random singles on facebook? My cousin used to make fun of me being on facebook, but he has been on for a few months now because I told him that I thought he could meet females pretty easily. Yet I have no idea how to tell him he should go about it. Any links or groups or suggestions I can give him or do you guys just randomly befriend complete strangers?
