Dynasty league (total keeper with, of course, offseason five-round draft for rookies and FAs) seeking dedicated, active owner to fill a vacancy and become our twelfth and final franchise for 2009.
The league has been around for ten years, with many of the owners in the league for that entire span. It's a very good group, with a lot of trade talk and good sportsmanship. We're seeking a like-minded owner - - active, but not a tool.
The league has twelve teams in three divisions and uses the MFL software. If anyone remembers Empire Fantasy Sports, this was one of their leagues, and when they folded, we continued it privately. It is not a high-dollar league - - the entry fee is $100 and the prizes are correspondingly modest (payout is 100% less the cost of the MFL software each year). Prizes are given for the winner, runner-up, all playoff teams, and the highest-scoring team each week of the 13-week regular season. Six teams make the playoffs (three division winners and three wild cards), which take place in Weeks 14-16. Week 17 is not used.
The scoring is a little different from some leagues; all TDs are 5 points, and it's 0.5 PPR (actually 1 point for every two catches), with one point for each 10 carries and one point for each 8 completions. One point for every 10 yards for rushing and receiving, and one point for every 25 yards for passing. We have introduced a (-1) point penalty for this coming season for fumbles lost on offense and interceptions. We are also considering changes to our defensive system (which right now involves a bonus for shutouts and staggered bonuses for various levels of yards surrendered, with +1 for sacks and turnovers forced, and no negative points), and the new owner will have a full opportunity to participate in that discussion and vote on the various proposals, which will go into effect in 2009 if any pass.
It's a great league and we would love to have another shark. If interested, please PM, reply here, or e-mail. Thanks.
