Kenny Phillips - NYG (1 Viewer)

@#%&. He was primed for a breakout year too. So many injuries on this team already.

Just placed on IR.

Did not see that coming.

Really hurts at the position of least depth on the defense.

Claimed Aaron Rouse off waivers from Green Bay.

If/when they get Canty and Tuck back, it will help cover the deficiencies in the secondary but remember that Dockery and Ross are already hurt as well.

You're bringing back the memories of the Giants playoff game vs. Carolina 4 years ago or so. All three starting linebackers were not in the NFL two weeks prior. Or something silly to that effect.

:wall: :bag:

Alonzo Jackson, Kevin Lewis and Nick Griesen

News on Kenny Phillips gets worse apparently. Orthopedic doc: injury could threaten Phillips career.
Bad news indeed, this guy was really coming into his own.
 Was this an orthopedic doc that actually looked at Philips or just one of those "docs for hire" that will give their opinion on a patient they've never seen?

Edit to answer my own question:

The Giants today said he’s been diagnosed with patellofemoral arthritis in his left knee. Not only is that enough to put him on injured reserve. It is, according to a noted orthopedist (who it should be noted has not examined Phillips or his MRI results), a career-threatening condition.

This just shows how awesome Webster is given how the secondary has played. I am totally surprised but he has turned himself into one of the best young corners in the league

im not sure what you are getting at. the doc is just commenting on the injury that was disclosed. he doesnt need to look at an mri to know that patellofemoral arthritis is career threatening. just like he doesnt need to look at an mri to know that a torn acl is a season ender.

:kicksrock: This is going to be bad for the defense. Good luck to Kenny though. Hope he's in a uniform with the team next year.

Horse hockey. There are degrees of severity and complications in every injury. A separated shoulder, and ankle sprain or a knee strain could be anything from annoying to a career ender. So yes, technically it can be career threatening, as any injury can be, but a doctor cannot properly diagnose a patient by reading the name of the injury on the newswire.

We're not made of Lego pieces where every part fits so specifically and can only come apart in one way. Every injury is different and therefore the prognoses from every injury is different.

As for Rouse...he might work out for you all.

But pretty telling GB dropped him even with all of the injuries they have to safeties right now.

He also has been getting dinged up about every time he plays.

Showed a ton of promise his rookie year...kind of a ball hawk...but never turned into the hard hitter they thought he was when drafted. Plays a bit too deep at times so as not to get burned and ends up giving up a play underneath.
